How that guitar has survived so many tours and small gigs in such pristine condition for decades is beyond me.
Probably because he treats it like a classical instrument. If it's not being played it gets put away carefully. Also I've never seen him bang his guitar around like some other rock stars.

He's playing a bmg, not the real old one
This one is a BMG, not the real one, as others have pointed out. If I recall correctly, during the first lockdown Dr. May was home without the Red Special, but with this BMG, a cheap Vox modeling amp and not much more. But his sound is himself, as we hear. And yes, the original underwent a full restoration by Greg Fryer and Andrew Guyton, who also built a few replicas for him. This happened around the end of the Nineties. Nevertheless, it is astonishing that Dr. May was able to design and build his lifetime dream instrument with his father when he was just a kid.

This brings tears to my eyes. Doesn't matter if there was a mistake or not - this guy, his band, his music meaning so much to me. I suffered from some really bad times, but every time I listened to this music it elevates me to a mental better place. All I see is iconic and legendary and I'm thankful that this music ever came into my life.

I can only think of very few Guitarist who I can instantly recognize by their playing alone.
Brian could make a guest appearance on someone else's track and I'd automatically know it was him playing on it.

The harmony part kicks in at that point and I bet he went to play it and remembered he was playing the melody part. But I could be wrong. :)
Standard guitars can NEVER achieve perfect intonation. That is why music played on them has always been considered raucous, rebellious and vile by classical criteria. In fact, guitars that have their frets modified to remove the demonic off-tones sound sterile and dead.

Honestly, seeing pros who got so good and achieved so much still making mistakes is strangely reassuring and motivating thing. It's alright. It does happen to literally the best of us. Just keep going.
There's not a guitarist on the land that doesn't play bum notes, professional or not. But sometimes we can make them sound like they were meant, depending on what it is exactly you're playing

@@brunomedeiros631 they sound pretty good tbh, accidentally ringing out strings with the overdrive on, and flattening too many strings to put thirds/fourths in the "wrong" places. Just sounds weirdly right even though someone more technically skilled would have avoided all that dirt that gave it character

This got recommended to me today for some random reason. Been stressing over a job interview coming up and this brought such a smile to my face. I sat down and listened to some Queen and immediately felt better. Forgot that as a kid this is what I listened too in order to comfort myself and just feel good about life again. Thank you.

The last interview I read with John Deacon. He said he found something a lot more fun to play with than a bass guitar. His Grand children. Can't blame a person for that. I'd love to see some more Deaky action with Queen but I would never ask for it.

Killer Queen solo was one of the best ever recorded. Stunning guitar tone, almost like a violin sound

This day in age is amazing. I can get a guitar lesson straight from Brian May! No more being confused with tablature that probably isn't accurate anyway. Just amazing. Thanks for doing this Brian! It means alot to us fans. I'm 37, been playing something like 20 years, always wanted to learn the killer queen solo, that and we will rock you solo because it's one of the coolest solos in history. As a boy I would listen to the 45 of we will rock you, with champions on the flip side. You have been such a musical inspiration.
