on second listen actually everything. percussion, guitar, tone, style, chorus, era, even subdued vocals. the only thing that doesnt is the backing vocals. im a big fan of both bands. devendra has been working with a member of the strokes recently, it shows.
Saw this live in Santa Barbara. Great song. Sounds like it could have actually been written by Lou Reed and performed by the Velvet Underground in their prime.
I was just eating a mentos fruity flavoured and this song + mentos were a perfect match, I don't really like this album a lot but damn, he still can make me happy, summermusic ♥
the live version of this song in some paris hotel is better. it's available somewhere on you tube. intimacy is key to banhart's songs, or at least that's how i personally feel him. oh what the heck, while we're at it, check out my cover of banhart's lazy butterfly.
But ultimately, I agree with you. It is apparent that he's been working with one of them, if not more. He just is a helluva lot more enthusiastic of a singer than Julian, which isn't a bad thing either way
Although they have different types of articulation, Devendra almost sounds similar to Julian... Before you chew me out, just take a second to listen to him talking in the beginning, and even during the song...
i never said the two guys were the exact same.. and yeah, Julian really needs to remember now and again to pull his head out of his ass, hopefully for next album.
This reminds me of D'Yer Maker
And the whole album reminds me of something you should go out and buy and listen to forever
I like how he moves his hands when he's singing. aww he's so cute
Just trying to find a video that I can actually comment on... I love Devendra, I love his cover of the libba cotton tune! Go man! You are inspiring!
yeah- great! Devendra is a phenomen by bringing good vibrations into this world!!!
ya quiero escuchar esa rolita en vivooo!! :3
Love his lil bit of dancing at the end haha
i love dis song

Heard it live @ Street Scene thought it was awesome!
Aw, he puts a smile on my face. What a dreamboat :)
I love his style and voice so fucking much.

lMAO HE DOES!

Carmensita
as long as there are other nicer tunes in the record, it's okay
heard this on the wireless thought it was Julian
lovely nonetheless

i like the whole band idea.. and electric sound.. but i think he sounds better solo/acoustic.. if that makes sense..
3:22: sexiest dancing ever!
RODRIGOOOOO AMARANTEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! :D:D:DD:D:D:D:D
as an american that was pretty qt.
like a Lou Reed
he looks like thomas erak.
WHO TOLD THIS GUY HE CAN SING?
i never said the two guys were the exact same.. and yeah, Julian really needs to remember now and again to pull his head out of his ass, hopefully for next album.
@jemappellekait hahahha good comment.
Rodrigo Amarante =*
This is the new really bad middle/aged karaoke.
Thanks internet.
i wonder how many of his fans know he is ripping off marc bolan from t rex but t rex ripped off tons of blues guys
women* ofc ;-)
I can think of a couple things worse...I guess my taste in music dictates that anyone talking can't hear themselves.
cool to see that he's having fun.. nothing against it. but this new music is just so boring, it's got nothing to offer. devendra's become party music.
the album isn't that great imo, he has better
'cause it's a woman and woman talk too much? ;-)
Spook away - it's so annoying yeah!
soo bad
