This is not safe- Nice video but there is soooo much more to candle making- Some steps I do- because it’s more than adding lose soy wax flakes to that container- Of course making sure it’s a heat safe container to begin with- not saying this one isn’t, but just in case! - 1. The wax has to be measured out for that container 2. It then has to be melted to a certain degree - 3. The wick size has to be appropriate for that size container- and I add a adhesive tab to hold the wick in place.
4. the amount of fragrance has to be measured for the amount of wax being used 5- 5. Once wax has Melted u add the fragrance and stir for like 2-3 mins so that it binds together before pouring into container-
5. Once poured allow to “cure” for about a week- since it’s soy the longer it cures the stronger the scent it releases.
I’ve never used Essential oils- only fragrance oils- and I don’t add any flowers or colors to avoid possible fires! The choice is up to the maker- Happy Candle making
@@themed7434 Really the reason they said it's not safe that I'm surprised the original commentor didn't mention is that the wick is WAY too long and you should NEVER burn a candle with anything but wax in it. Dried flowers should be removed before burning because they will catch on fire and create a dangerous amount of fire.
Also you absolutely should be a nerd about candle making. Doing it improperly can be dangerous. Just the other day there was a news article about a woman getting 3rd degree burns from a candle that caught fire due to the fragrance oil not being properly measured. And when I say caught fire, I mean the whole candle itself caught on fire not just the wick.

@@Persephoneia01absolutely, candles are magical to me, but I already cause a fire... And also a candle from M&S exploded, very lucky was in my kitchen sink, I never bought tin candles, just glass, and will go inside glass if is not, I will never forget the fear...
This is not a tutorial on how to make scented candles, just a fancy demonstration. So, not of your criticism matters. Except...
Except the way too long wick before burning. It will mislead consumers. Not safe.

Holy fire hazard!!!! Please don't do this. Definitely do not sell these. You will get sued when you burn down somebody's house. If you do sell candles, insurance is about $8 a month. I really hope the poster of the video does not sell these or at least has a decent insurance. Those are sure to start a fire. I am not trying to be rude, just trying to help you. I've been in business for 4 years and now, something that I used to just do it craft fairs turned into a full-time job! You can make fantastic money making candles. Don't follow the trends and set yourself apart!

Making candles with dried flowers is a thing, you just don’t overflow them like that. Use way less and keep them further away from the wick so they don’t come in contact with the flame. You should keep a closer eye on these candles when they’re burning just in case and you’re better off making them for yourself and not gifting or selling them since there’s more of a risk.
