one of my favourite songs ever so underrated, great riff, and the vocals from Freddie are outstanding! just gutted I was born to late to see Freddie live :( Definitely my favourite concert is this Houston 77 News of The World Tour. With being called 'Sam' spread your wings is obviously my favourite :)
I can't believe this has been posted for 8 months and no one's commented. Queen at their rocking best. For me this and BR were always the highlights of their concerts.
my thoughts go back to 1977... ?What the Hell was I listening to? Rick Wakeman - "Journey to the Center of the Earth", Deep Purple - "Machinehead", Jethro Tull "Thick as a Brick", Emerson, Lake and Palmer - "Brain Salad Surgery", some Hendrix, other musics of this ilk. Definitely not bad music and some of it was HEAVY... ?Why not Queen? My mind is boggled... These guys were great. Genius great. I didn't 'discover' them until the early 80's, "Got a Dragon on my Back", "Jazz".
Johan P problem is. We were not made aware. What a shame. I was 30 years old in 1977. No cable tv ( therefore , no MTV) no internet. No You Tube. I heard a few Queen songs but had no idea who I was listening to on my car radio. And certainly had no idea who the hell Freddie Mercury was.
Agreed! Just a few days later I saw my first ever concert , Queen @The Spectrum , Philadelphia, Pa. NOV 23 1977 2nd level, Section 9, Row#1 , seats 3-8 ☺☺☺
Wow! Shame on Queen for dropping this canon from their setlist! :) It would have been a great addition to the "deeeo's" of the 1980s. (Too bad it cuts off at the end.)
fred almost impossible for them to do the full prophets songs on their touring schedule and Freddie's nodules . Queen extravaganza with Marc Martel did a great version
I was at the forum in L.A. just eleven days later. Sixth row center! Still have one of the carnations freddie threw from the stage. White Man rocked!! Saw Zeppelin six months earlier in june. 1977 was a great year!!!
You saw one of the greatest queen concerts of all time, and luckily for you we have it on youtube, the whole show! Theres no video just audio but it covers the whole show, just look up queen live at long beach 1977 and you will find it, a guy named ryan newton has it as well as a few others.
@@sawman3364 Wow you saw some of the greatest concerts of all time, of any artists!!! Did you see them again in 80 or 82? Do you have any memorabilia from it?
So how is a Queen fan able to get this concert on DVD or Blueray? It looks professionally done. It's got to be somewhere. Would love to know and I'm sure other Queen fans would love to have it too.
Totally agree - their best gigs were in the 70's with exception of Wembley 1986. Totally awesome gigs. I love their 70's stuff much better than their 80's. They were an albums band in 70's with 2 singles per album and then became a singles band in 80's with 4 singles off albums with filler tracks. This gig should be released on official DVD along with Hyde Park 1976. In fact, 2/3 of all their live shows were in the 70's. Totally brilliant live act - way ahead of anybody else at the time. Totally innovative and very creative.
Steve Phillips Actually, I think Budapest 86 was better than Wembley. They played the exact same songs, but it sounded better in Budapest. But of course the 70's concerts were much better.
Times changed and so did their music. They were actually smart to change with the times. If they wouldn’t have then Queen would only be known as that band from the 70s. They actually stayed insanely popular everywhere else in the world except for in the states for some reason. They/Freddie actually managed to get a couple of top hits in the 90s even after Freddie’s passing thanks to a remix. So even tho they lost some fans in the 80s they gained many more later.
I love that they're singing this in the States...
Basically a huge middle finger to racist white people everywhere.
Probably my favorite Prophets Song. Anyone who doesn't think Freddie was the most unique, creative and talented singer just fucking watch this
The native Americans to Prophets making prophecies... Their catalog goes on.
this is the best band
queen had loads of live aid moments
greatest live band of all time

one of their best songs...
Brian looks so classy in that frock coat :)
The Prophet's Song with Get Down, Make Love... Together!
I mean, Freddie's vocals and Brian's guitar effects.

dark side of the queen
due to what this song is about, it has to be the best queen song ever.
I love that they weren't afraid to put out that kind of stuff.
EARGASM!!
Don't wactch this video alone in a dark room if you are easily scared!
A life long fan. This is Oxygen!
Glad this footage exists, good sound too. I saw them do this at Bristol Hippodrome same year.
Great video from the Day at the races tour. They were so great in concert. One Fantastic Band.
It's the news of the word tour...
jmactemin they do the albums tour a year later ; )

You should listen to ogre battle, stone cold crazy, flick of the wrist and innuendo for some great heavy songs.

Absolutely great Brian here , he is conducting himself , conducting the orchestra indeed

TruthSurge What did happen there? Why Brian positioned his hand like this?
it's an echo-plex so the sound is still going after he stops playing.
