Indentured laborers from India suffered a lot during those first five years under Britain in Fiji. I admire our forefathers who worked so hard to make our lives happier later. This song has captured every bit of hardship Indians had endured in FIJI.
It is only Song saved in my favourite from long time-The destiny of Biharis are Same-We Biharis are here to hard work and make world comfortable and disciplined for everyone! This what the"Bihari Attitude, legacy and life mantra" is!!
very emotional songs. I am from India and astonished to find the language used is exactly same as mine native bhojpuri. Will happy to support to trace your roots if any one wants.
Such a beautiful and emotional song. thanks for sharing. I'm from Fiji and have traced my roots back to Gorakhpur. I can understand the hardships our forefathers went through under the girmit system and am so thankful to my aaja who went to Fiji because if he hadn't gone, I would not have the life I have today.
Rahul my father in laws parents came from Bihar under the indenture system.. No families traced back yet.. Sad indeed.. This accent dialect is in that side of my familyToo

As a person of Ukrainian descent who became a Hindu in the late 1990s and adopted many aspects of the Indian culture since then, I f***ing hate what the British did to my fellow Hindus and their ancestors. Sure the British gave the world such good things like democracy and some other good stuff too. But according to the Hindu law of karma, those good deeds do not cancel the many misdeeds the British did.
