оригинал и другие каверы больше упирают на ритм и когда есть визуал смотрятся они замечательно. но вот смотря живые выступления на концертах, ловишь себя на мысли что как то это бледно выглядит. зато версию дианы можно смотреть наслаждаясь не только ритмом и энергией песни, но и ее голосом.))

The rules of the competition 'Шоумаскгоон' (ShowMASKgoon): 9 winners of the previous shows 'The Mask', 'Superstar' and 'You are Super' took part in this new format (9 episodes) and had to sing in 9 categories. The guest of honor (a different one in each episode), who sits with the candidates, also awards 9 bonus points to his favorite.
Categories: Folk Hit, Song at the End of the 20th Century, Soviet Song, Pop Hit, Song of Your Choice, New Music, Song from Cartoon or Film, Rock Hit, Grammy.
At the same time, the participants are also the jury and have to evaluate each other (2-9 points). You cannot give yourself points. The 9 participants have to prepare the known songs assigned to them for themselves and for the stage. This also includes pre-recordings of the background vocals. The participants mastered the show brilliantly. If it looked like tough competition at the beginning, they decided to be friendly and humorous ... it was great to see the show.

And once again Diana proves her versatility. She makes the song her own, presents it recognizable and yet changed, sensual, passionate ... simply incomparable our goosebumps princess. This show offers her a great platform for this.
At the end of the show, Igor Krutoy was the guest juror, who paved the way for Diana in 2018 as a juror in the “You are Super” competition and supported her. In this episodes as well as in the previous episodes (judge: Olga Kormukhina and Larisa Dolina) Diana had to carry a greater burden than the others and she mastered these challenges with flying colors. Maestro Krutoy called her a unique singer. With this song she earned 2nd place in this episode and victory in the overall standings and all of her fellow campaigners give her this from the bottom of their hearts and wish her all the best for her future career.
Depeche Mode is an English synth-rock or synth-pop group. Founded 1980 in Basildon (Essex), England, Depeche Mode is one of the most influential bands in music history. With over 100 million records sold worldwide, the group is one of the most successful bands in the world.

Personal Jesus is kept in the band-typical synthesizer-heavy style, but the guitar is unusually strong in the foreground.
It was probably me who suggested it. This was the singer's choice category, so this was the one song she got to choose herself for this show. She tends to have a lot of control on the arrangements and has described herself as a bit of a goat due to how stubborn she is with various details on songs. I don't know if it was RUclips or the sound engineer fell asleep during this performance, but she's a bit far back in the mix. There's a live radio set she did with three of her original songs and two covers, one of which was this song. Her voice is much more forward in the mix on that one. It wasn't out yet or I would have suggested that one.
I just figured that a tv show like this would control the arrangements. But several people have corrected me. - G

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions but a simple 'not for me' would have sufficed instead of throwing comments like "kermit the frog" about. Not nice.

As one blogger said, if you don't like Diana's voice, then something is wrong with you. Judging by what you're croaking, she's right. У дамы просто ностальгия по старинному исполнению. Я специально сравнил с оригиналом. На мой вкус Диана значительно превзошла оригинал, спела эмоциональнее, мощнее, внесла свою мистику и акценты. Аранжировка музыки тоже выигрывает, цепляет сильнее. Совсем другая песня. Про уникальный голос Дианы я уже не говорю.
The original is too monotonous for me, while this arrangement (by Styopin) bring more life and dynamic to it.

Valid point. There seems to be a huge difference between how she comes across on stage and off. On stage she has a very large magnetic presence and when off she seems like an ordinary young woman.
When she was 14 -15 the difference was even more pronounced.
Was wondering how much Soul Some can find in banging on the garbage bin...Happy That Diana did Not choose that way of expression...for All, Diana in Her version of this song gave the Highest Spiritual Experience from All other versions, include the original one...Personal opinion...except...Diana is Really and Objectively One of The Best Singers in the World...No slightest fear or doubt in this statement...

This show ran for 9 weeks. The judges are all singers who sang each week and they critiqued each other. They had to sing from each of 9 genres of music, so there are 9 Diana performances in a wide variety of styles. The most popular is from the 1st week where she covered Elvis Presley's Can't Help Falling In Love.

Ok you two, there is no argument of course since music is so subjective, so lets move on to the next Diana song, one you don't know, one that might be the most enjoyable of this project. Crow. Comparable to Rechenka in its vibe. Did you know there are white Crows (and Ravens)? Notice what happens to Diana at the end of the song. It's very subtle and just shows how pathetic and out of touch the camera crew/editor was in the video, but if you're attentive you'll see what I mean. Vorona.

At the age of about 11 she auditioned on a show for disadvantaged children and sang/yodeled. It is called 'Jodel Time'...really extraordinary...the audience absolutely loved her but the judges didn't turn their chairs around, even though they were obviously fascinated by her voice. They asked her to sing something else and she sang a French song acapella...but she was not chosen. What did she do? As the audience cheered her, she went up and gave the judges a hug! Completely captivating performer, even at the age of 11! I'd say watch her do Elvis' 'Can't Help Falling in Love' (fantastic -- she makes it an entirely new song). And also you could do 'Wicked Game' and 'Rechenka' both at the age of about 15 in singing contests... utterly spectacular voice! Also she sings a beautiful and uplifting 'Into the Sky!'

At the age of three in the middle of Russia's far northern Winter she was abandoned, injured, at a bus stop where she was rescued and sent to an orphanage. At the age of 5 she was still traumatized and unable to speak properly. A massage therapist who visited the orphanage trying to help kids, was the first to recognize something special in this little girl, and eventually adopted her. Diana was sent for singing lessons because it was thought that this might help her learn to speak without impediment. Only two years later she started singing in local theater, and in street plays and performances. And soon after was entered in a Russian TV music competition for disadvantaged children. By the age of 10 she was winning local competitions, singing on live TV shows, and her songs started showing up on RUclips. Two months ago, at the age of 18, her first performance during a new Russian television competition with several other renowned performers, has gone viral and has garnered hundreds of RUclips 'reaction' videos, and millions of viewers. Her first song at the competition, an entirely new take on Elvis Presley's 'Can't Help Falling in Love with You' has been called mesmerizing, transcendental and other-worldly...it highlights her uniquely deep voice, and effortless range from low to high, along with her trademark dramatic and passionate interpretation. I have only seen Ginger favor original artists. Change anything about it and she doesn't like it. She swims in the shallow end of the music pool, Mike swims in the deep end.
I have preferred many covers. Disturbed’s cover of “Sound of Silence”, Angelina Jordan’s cover of “Billy Jean”, and many more I could name if I bothered to check.
But I do often prefer if the changes they make fundamentally alter the song, as to make it totally different. I like exploring familiar songs in new tones or arrangements.

I agree with you G. I have always connected with DM for the darker elements, especially PJ, Blasphemous Rumours, Master and Servant, Little 15 etc. I love Diana’s voice but this one didn’t work for me… Johnny Cash’s cover didn’t work for me either.
