You need to write a book!! OMG!! "Chasmere Bill", "Misogynistic John who hugged women too long", the girl with the "unfortunate bangs", "Ellen...God's Wife" and "I have better taste in men than my mother...and clothes!" I could imagine reading that book and not wanting to put it down!! Sad to hear but realize this is what people will live with when they are struggling re your statement of the holes in your slacks knowing how you love clothes!! What a 360° your life has been!! So glad you were comfortable to share all this with us and happy that you are now where you are with all of that behind you!!! Thank you for including us in your "22nd Anniversary"...what an accomplishment in sobriety and arriving at where you are today!! Congratulations to you!! And thank you again for sharing this journey with us.
For someone to share the deepest part of themselves on RUclips, takes courage and strength. You are truly awe inspiring and a blessing to so many. Thank you and congratulations on 22 years clean and sober. Cheers to many more.
This video should be shown to anyone feeling lost, hopeless, and self medicating. You are inspirational, amazing, and your honesty is admirable. I have lost several friends and family members that never found the way out. Although not religious in any manner, I also believe there is a higher power in the universe and I am grateful it found you. An incredible journey for an incredible person. Congratulations!
“To thine own self be true.” Wow. I have that tattooed on my ribs Steven. But I don’t see it anymore. Thank you for the reminder. Little nod from the universe. And please please stop worrying about how long your videos may or may not be. Or for “oversharing”. Whoever invented that new, stupid and ignorant word is emotionally stunted at best or just an asshole at worst. Congrats not on 22 but on creating a peaceful, meaningful and finally…….’safe’ life. ❤
Happy Anniversary & Happy Pride. In the age of so much social media BS to hear a genuine, authentic testimony of your struggles and triumphs was inspiring.
Fifteen years sober here and also a Friend of Bill (and first time posting). Thank you, Steven, for reminding me about this disease and living your life with so much beauty, humor and gratitude. You've been such a guiding star to me. Happy anniversary!
Tenacity- The continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition. This 1 word describes your journey. You could have given up, said I can’t do this, I don’t care anymore, or had a continuous pity party for yourself. Your story is an inspirational story, that is going to help people. 🙂
I’m going to my daughter’s 7th sober bday dinner tonight. I’m so proud of her! She is now a state rep for AA and started a new meeting in a place there weren’t any. Seeing your story makes me realize I need to get bank to Al-Anon Thank You! . ❤❤❤
Steven, thank you for this video and thank you for being so open & candid. You have had me in tears remembering the stories my husband would tell about his journey out of the depths. I am positive that he never told me everything but it was enough to make me so grateful to those who helped him along the way. You are an inspiration for many people who need & want out of the bottom & are ready to take that first step. Congratulations on your milestone and here is to that higher power that makes the journey easier through "his" education & support. Bless you my dear.
Steven, I watched every moment of this video and couldn't take my eyes off of you speaking. You are quite a storyteller. I'm so happy for you celebrating 22 years sober and living a life that you love.
Happy Anniversary to you! I listened to every word, cried with you, felt anger towards your mother, but mostly felt so proud of your inner strength. I’ve said this before… you’ve come a long way baby! A dark past with a bright present and future. You touch so many lives and we are so lucky to have you! 💕
I love how open and candid you are. For someone who has been through the many challenges that you have faced in your life, you are incredibly strong, resilient and courageous to share all those things and more. You are truly inspirational.💙
An amazing and inspiring journey - happy for you and hoping that someone who needs to hear this story happens upon it…. Here’s to the continuing march forward…
Father’s Day, Juneteenth, Stone Wall (PRIDE Month), & your Sobriety Anniversary. Busy month of June for some. CONGRATULATIONS on being happy with the things in your life that make you happy.❤ Thanks for sharing.
Happy anniversary ! I listened to every word you spoke. I cried w you and celebrated your victories. I admire your strength and truthfulness in your life story. You are a wonderful kind old soul. You bring happiness to others through your profession and your youtube videos. You made yourself into the great man you are today. Celebrate your blessings. You are loved by many.
What a wonderful story of triumph. I know from my husband (and various adult students over the years) that it’s still ODAAT, but credit where due, yours is a story of success. You are amazing. It would be an honor to know you as a friend, but I’ll settle for this RUclips channel. I talk about your experiences with my husband (got his 35 year coin on Jan 12, 2024), and some of his stories are like yours. As a newspaper boy/carrier, he started drinking the little samples of NyQuil that were supposed to be delivered with each newspaper. Now, his oldest son is in court mandated recovery. We hope that the son takes the steps seriously this time. You and my husband are examples that this is possible. Happy anniversary and Happy Pride! 🏳️🌈 ❤
Steven, already did I admire you, but that level of admiration rose exponentially after watching and listening to every second of this vlog. I am not an alcoholic, but I did attend a meeting as guest of a friend when living in South America I could feel immediately the bonding all the members had. Perhaps the closest friend outside my late husband was a woman named Jean. She died of cancer in 2001. She flew for AA from 1959 until 2001 about 4 months be fore her death. At retirement she was #33 in system seniority. We were really close and she struggled with the alcohol disease for years before joining the OTHER AA. She never missed any of the conventions. As close as we were, she told me that she actually felt even closer to the people in the meetings, because THEY knew on a much deeper level who she was because so were they. I got it completely . May I ask you what kind of frequency you go to the meetings? I think your giving support to your NK colleague on his first anniversary was stupendous. Anyone to whom you are a friend is SOOO fortunate to have you in his or her life. You know what NOTHING is. I would be so lucky to have you for a friend, even as my life starts to come to a close. NK has such a valuable asset in you as their representative. My warmest congratulations on #22. 🌈❤️😋 Herman
I just listened to the whole video and it was so fantastic again you really express your life with such grace!! I could of listened for hours !!! Congratulations!
So I do have a question unless I missed it did you apply to delta ? How did you get to your current airline ? What made you choose flight attendant? Thank you
I’m reading Suzanne Somers’ book, Keeping Secrets, about growing up in an alcoholic family. It’s a really great read. Boy, you sure kept yourself together amazingly well in this vlog what with going back to those darker times. Yet so beneficial for you too. Congratulations on your 22nd anniversary!!
Congratulations, my brother Steven! Long time since I've checked in - what a reminder of your profundity and generosity of spirit. We can feel your love radiating, man, and send it back to you on your anniversary and every day.
Happy Anniversary!! You've come a long way and Really earned everything you've achieved. You are a wise soul, Steven. Happy for your continued sobriety!! Be safe!
Happy 22nd Anniversary Steven Congratulations 🎉you are truly amazing i could listen to you all day every day. You should be a motivational speaker. Thank you for being you ❤ ❤ we all absolutely adore you ❤️
I loved hearing your story. It's funny how our Higher Powers work. Mine was a 6 foot 5 inch Minnesotan in cowboy boots, a family friend and his wife. I thank God for him everyday. All these years later
You should write a book telling your story. You are in inspiration to those on the recovery journey. My sister has been sober for 20 years. So many parts of your story reminded me of her journey. Thank you for being you.
You are encouraging me to find a home group. I tend to isolate. So this video is so beautiful and inspiring. Luv ya Steven from MSP. And yes you need to write a book! And I agree as fellow cat lover waking up with them is precious.
Congratulatons on 22 years. You are truly an inspiration for us all. You have survived horrific situations and look at the man you are today. Hugs to you my friend.
1. You say you chickened out but I disagree. From where I sit what you did and DID NOT do was very brave. You could have exacto'd, you had it right there, but instead you found your bravery and did the hardest work of your life. I am so so proud of you. Please publish your memoir! Love, yout internet mother :)
Hi Steven. I RARELY watch videos that are 1 hr plus but I watched every second of your video. Your story is very compelling. Thank you for sharing. I have a question, however, you've mentioned before that you do not believe in God per se but you mentioned a "higher power" several times here. What do you consider your higher power?
Hi Steven. Congratulations on 22 years of sobriety🎉❤😊! I have a question. I have an ex co-worker who is a very lovely person. However, she is now prone to falls, mental health issues and job losses due to her "weekend" drinking. Which allegedly her husband has given her a pass to do. I asked her if she had talked this over with her sponsor. She said that it was not a big thing. Should I just butt out and leave this alone? Her husband has a very good income allowing her to stay home. I am just worried that this is potentially controlling behavior. She was literally in the hospital a few weeks ago undergoing surgery from another fall.
You should be a speaker at the national AA convention. Such a great story teller.
I would love that! Lol!

Happy Anniversary Steven! 💜I am also in recovery but unfortunately not as long as yourself.
One day at a time. Long term sobriety is nice, but it's the staying sober one day at a time that's the real success.
Congratulations on 22 years of sobriety Steven
Steven you are loved by so many. I wish your vlog would have been longer. We love listening and seeing you.
Wow Steven, That was some share. I've never met you and I'm bloody proud of you. Well done and happy 22nd sober birthday. God Bless You. 🙏🏴

My best friend of 11 years of friendship just threw me away at Christmas. She was like my sister. Totally crushed me.
I'm so sorry.
@@flightattendantsteven yeah it really really hurt me to the core, well the good news is I lost 17 pounds ❤️

Yay! 🥳👏❤️😊👏
Strongest guy I know. ❤ one day I hope to grow up to be as good as him.
Congrats on your 22 years!!
I found you through Sonny Las Vegas. Love your energy. I'm a thrifter as well and a kitty lover too. New sub.

35:45 - “I am my mother, with better taste in men”. LOL. Am I a bad person for laughing at that?! 😅

I agree, you have a book inside of you. Let it out.
Steven, tonight I saw a young man named Jakob Pereira from Warwick, R.I. speaking on the attempted assassination. Your relative?
Pereira is a VERY common name in RI.
