I'm late but still feel the need to state my opinion. Dimash is versatile but shines best ( in my opinion) in the neoclassical style. There are many phenomenal hip-hop, pop and rock artists so if that's what you want then listen to them. Dimash transports people to other worlds because he isn't confined by genre, and not because he makes mainstream music.

As far as the song style... this is what Dimash grew up with. I think we can expect him to do some traditional opera, like some of the Italian standards. That is where is training is, and likely more familiar to him. I don't think we'll see Dimash singing in a purely Western rock style (or in a rock band) soon, although he might dabble in it at some point. He can surely sing it. His forte is gonna be this type of stuff and opera. It suits his voice and his upbringing. Assuming he has a full career.. he'll probably be remembered as one of the greatest singers in history. Part of my has to agree a teeny bit. I didn’t really appreciate the musical gymnastics in this particular song, I’m well aware of this talent but there is a time and place. Phew! Now, I personally loved the song because it has both drama and vocal perfection that I love. I don't know what character you talking about - theatrics of Dimash almost matches his vocal ability. And if you looking for distortion in a voice, you won't get that with him. It's just not him. Distortion is imperfection, no matter how colourful, and Dimash simply does not do imperfection. But we all have different tastes.
By the way, it is nice to hear a bit of criticism as every other commentator is mesmerized and just singing praises. It takes an annoying Frenchman to do it. Hahah

А композиция очень сложная и видно как Димаш выкладывается и физически и эмоционально. Первые секунды после окончания песни он ещё не может выйти эмоционально из песни, теряет реальность. I'm late but still feel the need to state my opinion. Dimash is versatile but shines best ( in my opinion) in the neoclassical style. There are many phenomenal hip-hop, pop and rock artists so if that's what you want then listen to them. Dimash transports people to other worlds because he isn't confined by genre, and not because he makes mainstream music.

It’s my and millions of others music. The pianist is world famous Igor Krutow WHO came out of retirement when he heard D, he wanted to compose music for D. The pair makes wonderful music together.
The pianist is Igor Krutoy, a legendary Russian composer. He came out of retirement to write for Dimash. This song was written by Igor, Dimash and Lara Fabian. As far as the song style... this is what Dimash grew up with. I think we can expect him to do some traditional opera, like some of the Italian standards. That is where is training is, and likely more familiar to him. I don't think we'll see Dimash singing in a purely Western rock style (or in a rock band) soon, although he might dabble in it at some point. He can surely sing it. His forte is gonna be this type of stuff and opera. It suits his voice and his upbringing. Assuming he has a full career.. he'll probably be remembered as one of the greatest singers in history. In all facets of singing, the technical, emotive and performance... he is so far beyond today's current "best" that there really is no comparison. This kid's likely gonna be the G.O.A.T. At least within our lifetime.

Part of my has to agree a teeny bit. I didn’t really appreciate the musical gymnastics in this particular song, I’m well aware of this talent but there is a time and place. Phew! And I struggled with trying to understand the lyrics but then that has never prevented me from listening repeatedly to songs in Kazakh, Russian, French etc I have now listened to the song multiple times and really love it - I think I’m beyond help!

How cool he don't need to sing distortion music that you like we just love the songs he sing. I'm sure you heard him sing show must go on in his 2017 competition there is part of distortion there because it's go with the song. Calm down man, we are very happy with The classical style used by Dimash who is bringing back the good music to the world and will be remember 100 years from now. Most of Today’s music uses auto tune and words mean nothing, noises lacking fine arrangements, not very good. Let’s just admire this prodigy and enjoy the ride, probably we will never hear another voice like that during our lifetime. That’s the plain truth.
