    I have Ritchey bars on two of my bikes Ritchey Streem 42 CM & Richey stem WCS Carbon Matrix C220 on my Tarmac. Aluminum is the way to go long term. Using a slightly narrow bar will help with aerodynamics.

    The Evo Curve is available in Classic, which is similar to Comp level (double-butted aluminum), but with a silver finish. I ran those in 42mm for awhile, but more recently switched to some older Deda Elementi Supernatural, nominally 40mm but a touch under 38mm center to center. They have an ergonomic style bend, and it works for me. The narrower width is more comfortable for me, I can chill in the drops or get low in the hoods and I don't feel like I'm missing out on any leverage. There are definitely some who prefer wider bars, but I think each person should experiment some to find what works for them. For me, any aero benefit is just a perk, my build is far more about comfort than absolute performance.

    Glad to see this reviewed. I bought a skyline handlebar about a year ago and loved the ergonomics so much I purchased a second for a new bike I’m building. It’s sleeper hit in my opinion, and great value too.

    We are all looking forward to a few videos of you two riding in the Pittsburgh area and hope you find and are shown some interesting routes. Consider touring Falling Water for some time off the bike. It is not too far from the city and the roads (on and off road) around there are pleasant for riding.

      ​@@rayF4rio I'm from the east coast of the state but I've been out that way several times. There is excellent riding if they stay in and around Ohiopyle State Park (close to Falling Water). I don't remember the roads being narrow. They are taking Gravely bikes too so they can enjoy the GAP trail and make some fun on to off road loops.

    I bought the bar, you will be seeing on the Calfee in a few weeks. Also a new Ritchey stem to replace that broken carbon one.

      @@SeeYouUpTheRoad That is a good question. I was climbing up a hill and was looking down and noticed that the face of the stem behind the face plate looked like it was becoming detached. On the way down the hill, a crack started forming longitudinally along the side of one of the areas that the headplate screw goes into. Go figure? Regardless, I utilized my excellent rim brakes to slow my descent and limp home.

    What frame size are you building up for yourself in the Breakaway, you're somewhere in the range of 5'9" aren't you? I've always wanted a Ritchey road frame but the reach seems quite long compared to many other manufacturers.

    I have above average shoulder width and started with 42cm bars. I still have 2 bikes with 42cm bars. I went down to 38cm and they're more comfortable when down on the drops. I do feel the 42cm bars to be better at climbing and 100% on the hoods. 38cm, 40 and 42cm are all within marginal change.

      I think I will find the same results. None of my bikes are set up exactly the same. I too have bars of different widths. This will be my first 40cm. All others are 42, 44 and I once had 46’s 😮

      @@bonbonflippers4298I prefer the ride quality of the Vittoria Corsa Pro with the cotton casing but I don’t trust it for brevets longer than 300km.
      I rode a series this year with no tire issues on the 5000 STR. 200km, 300km, 400km with 17,000 ft, 600km with 26,000 feet and another 600km with 13,000 in sub 24 hours all without tire issues. Just getting one flat would have blown my sub 24 hour (R60) on the 600km - so many lights and so much wind on the course. I was just under 24 hours by 4 minutes 😂
      I wouldn’t have even gone out on that 600km on the Corsa Pro.
      For Paris Brest Paris - I also rode the Continental 5000 STR with no tire issues. (1226 km with 12,000 meters or 762 miles with 40,000. Ft )

      I have a one piece aero handlebar/stem on my aero road bike (Bianchi XR4) It would seem completely out of place to put an aero bar on this round tube steel bike 😂

    when you hold the bar to the camera; in my opinion, you can ride w/ 380 mm bar.

      @@hendrikmintarno I do have narrow shoulders. I just like wider bars - always have. In fact, Kestrel used to make a 46mm that I had on my bikes for a few years

    I really liked your video when you showed us new equipment on the market. But now it seems like you're going back 30 years with your steel bikes and all the old school stuff. A carbone bike is incomparable with a dirty steel bike. Carbon is the future, as are all composite products. I'm a mechanical engineer and I'm trying to evolve, not devolve. Thank you
