    I just got me a HRX217 from Do - Cut Warren, Ohio. They still have all the models left including the electric start. I got the basic one, for me lesser to go wrong in the future. I have a old 160 that has been used More like a brush hogging and still start first pull.

    My 22 year old honda HRK 216 Hydrostat lawn mower is still going strong. I been debating with myself about purchasing last ones before they are gone. You might want to pick up some spare drive wheels to hold on too. Those rear drive wheels wear down I am on my 3rd pair over 22 years.

    • @averagejoevideo9556
      @averagejoevideo9556  Год назад +1

      That’s good to know about the drive wheels! Thank you for sharing. I was already trying to think about what spare parts I may need to stockpile. Since this is my first time owning a self propelled mower, identifying the parts I may need in the future is a bit more challenging.

    I have the exact same model. This will be my third summer using it. You’ll likely need to adjust the control cables a few times as they do stretch a bit at first but other than that its a great mower.

      Thank you for the feedback. I heard that these units need cable adjustments from time to time. Please like and subscribe for updates.

    For a 1 thousand dollar mower, its a shame it doesn't come with a GXV engine (like commercial unit) instead of a GCV engine.

    New service bulletin on these mowers. Camshaft defect. Be careful!

    • @averagejoevideo9556
      @averagejoevideo9556  Год назад +1

      I can imagine the recoil on one that’s defective could cause a serious shoulder injury for someone not anticipating it.

    Knowing the possibility of the camshaft issues I was wondering if you are at all worried about the machine breaking down or do you feel that it is a rare occurence ? Thanks for your clear set up instructions

    • @averagejoevideo9556
      @averagejoevideo9556  Год назад

      Sure, no problem! As far as the camshaft issues that I discussed in one of my videos, I really think this is an isolated problem. While my machine has been fine up to this point, I hope that this issue has a resolution. Honestly, I would appreciate a recall and an extended warranty on my unit if it’s affected. My gut instinct tells me that this issue is a rare occurrence for Honda mowers. Obviously it could affect thousands of units but in the big scheme of things that is a small number in terms of all the units produced. Thanks for watching! Please like and subscribe for updates.

      B&S Quantum was/is the best walk behind power. Got one built April 2000.
      Still okay. Stole it off a scrapped mower with loose blade /plugged air filter 12 years ago.
