Really different build. What I’ve been having fun with, although it’s frustrating, is to build up the rock and connect it to foundations on top of the rock. You need to get kind of lucky with the freehand being perfectly aligned so that you can connect your floor to the foundation and it believes it’s the same building. It’s mostly important to get the first foundation on the ground to be in the perfect alignment so that it’ll be aligned correctly to a spot you can place a foundation on top of the rock. It is worth it though.
"Can't open my own door?!" - reminded me of a situation from the time i went to college, getting back to my room i missed a floor and i couldn't understand for few seconds why the key won't work. :)) ...ah, good times!

Question for the Rust players here. I never played Rust but I watch a "few" video from different youtubers. Why use rocks to make a base? You can't dig in them and you still need to surround them with your base. Is it to prevent splash damage? Or something else?

Weird gaps in your base just looks like opportunities for traps and misdirection against raiders. Dropping some empty loot boxes where they can't reach, in those rocks, potentially making them waste boom trying to get to them. Shotgun traps under the floor next to gaps the try to squeeze through; spikes, snaptraps, and landmines underneath them, etc. Considering how often you seemed to get stuck on that rock going in through the door, a flame turret or shotgun trap just past the rock where a raider can't easily reach it would have been mean. I'd have chainlinked around the turret too, just to be annoying.
