And since said generation are typically not sound engineers that are posting negativity this means that they have ZERO baseline to make any type of comment with validity. So basically......in lamens terms for the (younger generation of so-called GnR fans) if you don't have a Sound Engineering degree how the hell do you know how Axl would sound while performing at his age in any given venue???
He sounds great signing in the low register on this tune. I imagine that won’t work on some of their songs but it does on this one. I’m sure it’s frustrating for him to struggle to sing the way he used to. Getting older and losing certain skills sucks. His low voice sounds very good though.
His natural range would work well for a lot of the UYI material as well as some Appetite songs. Look at what Trent Reznor/NIN did - dropped the tuning to work around his voice and, honestly, unless you listen to a 94 show and then a 2022 show - you wouldn't really notice the difference. I know with Axl that his voice is incredibly powerful and distinctive with the older GnR material, but this proves the man can adapt his voice and still sound great.
It would be cool for an unplugged show but at the same time if axl dropped his register this low for the entire 3 hours I'm sure people would be upset and still complain he wasn't giving his all at this point he can't win people are asking way too much the guys 61! robert plant stopped trying to sing in his higher register by his late 30s early 40s we should give the guy credit for still going out there working the entire stage and putting on a high quality show compared to alot of bands out there right now

He sounded good. I think a lot of older bands should do this. No one can expect a 50 to 60 year old singer to be able to sound like they are 20. Well, some expect it...the whiners. Singers get in trouble when they try. Just give us what you got the best way you can today. I hear so many young bands and think....they'll never be able to sing that at 50 years old. what made this so g great was axls young, powerful vocals. imho, they should shelf this one and let us remember it for what it is, one of their greatest
I have always said that Axl should have do this a long time ago, his natural voice is still 100%, if he sings most of the songs like this Axl would no longer try so hard making high notes and we enjoy the songs better, everyone wins. ( Also say that the high notes in his normal voice sound phenomenal)
What people need to remember is over the many years he has performed he always went out and gave it all and left nothing on stage. His voice box is wore down a bit. Axl is still Axl just older. I do have to say the deeper vocals work well.

I saw them earlier this week in San Antonio & his voice was on, but the sound guy kept fucking with his levels to where it would just drop out or be overwhelming louder the next second🤷🏻♂️
Saw them in London too, he sounded a LOT better there than he had done in previous years, pissed off that I saw he played TWAT in other concerts though as that's one of my favourite songs 😂
