Great performance I never heard Veronica Cortez before great voice the soprano it was also good I saw her in a Franco zeffirelli movie of Tosca with Domingo I wasn't impressed by her voice at that time I think she was probably past her prime Etc. She seems so much better here. She really does not have the voice for Tosca. Not a true Spinto Soprano. As leanora she seems to be more confident in this particular role. Yeees, he's not just cruel tiran, and his beauty is that he looks as real severe gothic knight with exqusite aristocratic features in his appearance and manners, he is a romantic hero. Manrico looks really gypsi or simple peasant, I don't like such type of image.

Bonisolli looks incredible (and sexy) here: chiseled physique, hairy-chest, incredible voice. And he sings extremely well with thrilling top notes! Zancanaro also has a glorious voice and is very handsome. Kabaivanska is beautiful and sings like an angel as does Cortez who sings the top C in her cadenza in Act Two. Luccardi is a first-rate, sexy Ferrando too. One verse of Leonora's oft-cut "Tu vedrai" is also included, unusual for that time. Thank you for posting this excellent, telenovela-like production!

Zancanaro here is much better than in the 1985 TROVATORE at the Verona Arena, also with Bonisolli (Rosalind Plowright, Fiorenza Cossotto and Paolo Washington complete the cast and Reynald Giovanninetti conducts).

Zancanaro sempre un gradino sopra tutti gli altri. Uno dei grandissimi artisti del canto del secolo scorso.
Insieme a Milnes uno dei migliori baritoni degli anni 70 80, tutti e due avevano una presenza scenica di tutto rispetto.

Il Trovatore 💖🌜🌟 is one of my favourite opus. I adore the cavatinas, the arias, the duets and the choruses. A magnificent Verdi opus.🌹
It really does have the whole package, rather than some operas which are mostly just 1-2 catchy arias and maybe a nice duet.

In addition to all the praise for the major cast members, Giancarlo Luccardi also deserves a shout-out. He's pretty much the best Ferrando I've ever heard or seen!

Acted, staged, and sung over the top -the way this wonderful war horse should be performed. The principals are all great here-kudos to all involved.

I just figured out why this is so awesome: it's staged, directed and acted exactly like a daytime soap or telenovela. Which is so very appropriate to this opera...

My best Il Trovatore rendition. Male singers including Zancanaro, Bonisolli, and Lucardi are SUPERB! Two main female singers also seem to be one of the best casts. BRAVO

Bellissima edizione di Trovatore, con interpreti davvero tutti in forma smagliante. Trovo elegante e disinvolta la direzione di Bartoletti il quale estrae dalle compagini orchestrali e corali tedesche un suono potente, nitido, trasparente, cristallino. Buona la scelta dei tempi e il discorso narrativo. Il direttore fiorentino, da gran conoscitore di voci e di teatro quale è sempre stato, ci propone una lettura dell'opera di Verdi suggestiva e accattivante, scattante ed eroica. Bonisolli come era nel suo stile era un pò monocorde, non aveva un canto sfumato e morbido, però aveva acuti da brivido, e in questa edizione si disimpegna a suo modo in modo convincente. Molto valida la prestazione di Raina Kabaivanska la quale tratteggia un personaggio, quello di Eleonora, sfumato e lunare come quello pensato e voluto da Verdi. Buona la prova di Viorica Cortez la quale dà al personaggio di Azucena quel tanto di misterioso e tenebroso che ben si adatta al personaggio. Il suo"Stride la vampa" è esemplare, come del resto il successivo dialogo con Manrico. Corretto e stilisticamente ineccepibile il Conte di Luna di Giorgio Zancanaro, sfumato ed elegante sempre. Difficile al giorno d'oggi trovare un baritono che canti con uguale proprietà stilistica. In definitiva questa è un'edizione di Trovatore tutta da gustare. Vi posso garantire che dall'inizio alla fine dell'opera non c'è un solo istante che sia noioso o poco significativo. Cordiali saluti Mauro Chiocchetti Maza-Moena- Val di Fassa.

Well sung!!! This TROVATORE has been my favorite since I first watched it a few years ago. Just watched it again after a long time, and it is still my favorite. The cast is wonderful. Azucena's Waltz is reason enough to watch this opera, but there are plenty more great musical moments here.

Listening to this way is better than in opera. Perfect sounding, good acoustics and so on. This performance is better than the one with Domingo and Netrebko.

Уважаемая Светлана Давыдова!Спасибо за интересный комментарий.Я пересматривала этот фильм несколько раз,он замечательный,голоса и актерская игра прекрасные,но больше всего поразила трактовка баритоном Дж.Дзанканаро образа графа ди Луны.Обычно его изображают мрачным злодеем или жутким надменным монстром (Пьеро Каппуччилли,например,так глаза таращит,что они у него из орбит вылезают)..Здесь же совсем другое.:человек до безумия влюблен в Леонору,а она сначала его оскорбила,а потом обманула..Он мог бы послать Манрико на плаху втерцете ,но не делает этого,потому что для рыцаря позор смывается только кровью.Намерения его благородны:венчание с любимой,только вот способы борьбы за свое счастье не всегда хороши.Дж.Дзанканаро показал нам образ графа как несчастного влюбленного , глубоко чувствующего и страдающего человека.Он встречает Леонору с улыбкой,полной надежды на счастье,но нет,когда она умоляет его освободить Манрико,видно,что граф сильно мучается.В финале оперы ди Луна совершает страшную ошибку , и теперь мать Азучены отомщена.

What a glorious MUSICAL! One terrific tune after tune and like nothing else ,as the tunes get better and
better all the way through. Yes the story is melodramatic, beyond belief. BUT by the end you believe it as
Azucena screams at the Count . "HE WAS YOUR BROTHER !!!!" That is the genius of Verdi in Il Trovatore,
which is the masterpiece of his early style. Although it is classified as middle period Verdi. Trovatore is
the follow on to Ernani composed 10 years earlier and far superior.
I'm sure there are tenors that hit a high F , but perhaps they may have lighter voices and not in the spinto category of tenor that Bonisoli is in.How many tenors can sing Puritani and also are suited for roles like Aida,Trovatore,,Tosca Turandot,Carmen Otello and Aroldo. This is perhaps one reason why he was unique.

Uma maravilhosa versão de O Trovador de Verdi, porém ainda tenho dificuldade de entender o italiano, gostaria muito que alguém pudesse refazer esse vídeo com legenda, pelo menos em inglês ou espanhol. Ficaria muito agradecido.😊

@@pedrosergio2002 Procurar o resumo da Opera. Aconteceu centenário do nascimento de Verdi e Wagner. Bi centenário. Muitas Óperas foram lançados em vídeo e áudio. Infelizmente uma loja que eu comprava fechou a uns cinco anos. Era o Gera som. A folha de São Paulo também lançou vários CDs de Óperas completas com o libreto. Mas quanto mais você inscrever nos Canais da Internet você encontrará coisas excelentes. Um exemplo é a Cavalleria Rusticana do compositor Pietro Mascagni numa filmagem de Zefirelli. Merece um Oscar.
Existe também do Zefirelli em filmagem a Lá Traviata de Verdi. Em ambas a presença do Plácido Domingo e espetacular cenário e elenco. Procurar também por boa música é clicar nas Zarzuelas. Algumas:As bodas de Luiz Alonso. Água, Açúcarillo e aguardente e Lá Gran vie. é muitas outras. Do Carlos Gomes um Guarani na Íntegra com a Opera do Pará. Idem Lo Schiavo e Odaleia. Com a Opera da Bulgária, O Guarani, Fosca e Maria Tudor. É só clicar e não darás conta do recado. Tem uma ótima apresentação do Barbeiro de Sevilha no Municipal de São Paulo, um espetacular Rigolleto com Fernando Portari no principal papel. Assisti. Tem também o Nabuco de Verdi. Salvo engano é da temporada de 2018 ou 2019.
Se você fala espanhol, Zarzuelas será um prato cheio. Tem diversas espetaculares.

Besonders Giorgio Zancanaro als Conte Luna sticht in diesem hervorragendem Ensemble noch hervor. Habe ihn in Dresden mit Katia Ricciarelli, Fiorenza Cossotto (!!!!) und Luigi Roni zu den Musikfestspielen '82 life erlebt! Grandios. Ein ausserordentlicher Interpret! Da war ENERGIE auf der Bühne, Simone Alaimo war da auch dabei.....!

Si ce film opéra a terriblement vieilli , la bande-sonore est fort estimable ! Franco Bonisolli en Manrico est à son zénith ,Raina Kaibànvanska campe une Leonora subtile et émouvante , tandis que Giorgio Zancanaro trouve en Luna son meilleur rôle de baryton-verdien . Enfin Viorica Cortez , sobre mais vibrante Azucena complète avec efficacité cette distribution d'un autre temps .
