After watching this, I'm not going to complain about polishing a Kirby again. So many nooks and crannies on this! Speaking of, I recently bought another Kirby Avalir for $100. It was a filthy mess and the bag smelled like death when the seller turned it on. He had bought a storage unit and the Avalir was in it so God only knows what was in that bag. Every once in a while when I was cleaning, washing, and machine polishing it, my mind would go to the video of Hooverlux showing off his like new Avalir that he bought for around $85 US dollars. Let's just say I was incredibly envious at the thought of that when I was knee deep in whatever gunk I was scraping out of the impeller housing.
Watched it with sound know! You've done a fantastic job, I'm glad you left the scratches in to be honest, they show the history and patina of the machine! I sent you the belt cover so you could test yours out as you said it was missing too! When I had assembled it I had to give it a quick hand polish to get my fingerprints off! I used my Meguiars metal polish which has no cut but took the grease off. It will land in Manchester tomorrow!
Great job! So sparkly! I was wondering when you were going to show behind the scenes after Sam posted his video. On a side note, you have a model train set! I had a huge model train set intertwined with a slot car track as a kid, very cool!
Wow that looks amazing-I've got a few hovers from 1930s that need that kind of polishing-watching your video it's gave me the info I needed to do that or I could let you do them ???? X
Great video. I have my Grandmother's 1929 Hoover 725 and I'd like to know about how much you charge plus shipping to and from New York. I need to ask Sam how he disassembled the 725 he sent you. Thanks Eddie J.
Hi Eddie, unfortunately I don’t have the equipment to operate the machine with our different power level. Sam is definitely the person to contact about refurbishment and then he sends me the component parts to refurbish. I will tell him about your query my friend.
This is an outstanding job and the finished machine has pride of place in our vacuum museum. Many thanks to Dorian for this specialist work.
Manchester Vacs (Dyson & Sebo Specialists) Your absolutely welcome and look forward with helping in any other way I can in the future.

Fantastic Job .. looks so amazing, and relatively easy to do !!
It’s not difficult with the tools and compounds, just a lot of elbow grease and patience. I love it.
They were so shiny I could have had a shave with them! Your so patient and thorough, well done👍😍
Thanks Andrew, it’s very therapeutic doing that
Absolutely beautiful work!

I'm sat putting the kids to bed, have just watched it with no sound and my God your work is inspiring! I'll send another 5 over yes?
