  • Spring seeding won't work! Well sometimes you have no choice and your results might surprise you.
    This project has surprised me because we have some of the worst spring conditions I could imagine for a spring seeding. Lots of up and down but mainly cold weather and drought conditions. This lawn is far from perfect but remember that this is just step 1 in the overall process and a renovation always takes time to perfect. I'm excited about the progress and looking forward to the fall overseed. I also update you on the dormant seeding project at my father-in-laws which also turned out better than I had expected.

    The key to straight lines on a large lawn is to pick an object in the distance when you’re at the beginning of the row. Then keep your focus on that object until you get to the end of the row. Once you lay down a straight line the rest will follow.

Several people ask what I use and I spoon feed with Milo and the simple lawn solutions from your kit on rotation ever 2-3 weeks. My lawn is mint! Especially during the heat drought we are in here.

    Just got a new sprayer with all of the liquid fertilizer my wife got me for Father's day (along with some winnings off of Don's Lawns channel). Put down some post emergent weed killer (in a separate sprayer that I only use herbicides in) and didn't throw down any fertilizer yet, because it has to be watered in. Looking forward to next week's adventures in the lawn. Great information in this video! Lawn definitely needed a mow. When you showed the one weed that was towards the start of the video, "weedzilla" popped into my mind 🤣

    Oddly, this Spring would’ve been perfect to over-seed because of all the rain, cool temps late and now finally higher temps. Instead I trusted my gut and make sure to use pre-emergent and keep weeds at bay and focus on over-seeding in the Fall.

    • @HypnotixzK
      @HypnotixzK 3 года назад

      peat moss helps absorb the water and keep the seeds moist beneath it. You don't want the seeds to dry out when you're seeding, especially during hot temperatures. Also can be protective against animals from eating up the seeds.

    • @bobzilla6618

      It depends on the type of grass, but it would be hard to establish grass seed. It also depends on the temperatures in your area when doing whatever you end up doing whatever you do. I would lean towards sod, and water it appropriately. Maybe Ryan will answer as well, but that's my opinion. Not a pro here, but I've established fescue (with seed planted in the spring) in shady parts of my lawn that my bermuda will never grow in. I'm in Ga, so the summers down here are hot and humid.

    I'm dealing with a small tree that's putting up suckers in my yard. Any sprays that I could use to help kill them? I already took out the three but could use something to help put it down for the count.

    You should move to Ontario. I would like to see you do your lawn magic with no herbicides

    Ryan that Tenacity does more harm than good. I'm sure you'll come to the same conclusion eventually. Love your videos!
