Always great to watch a video with David Ryan, he is truly a chart master! Very insighful analysis pointing out the importance of both price and volume!
Weekend Routine:
Goes through the Screen (Strongest 250) and then the Strongest Group. Strongest Stock in Strongest Group
Looks for prior up move which is consolidating (tightening) does most of buts in stage 2A
Looks for fundamental story
Adds 25% in 2nd tranche and SL would be close below trendline or 21 MA
Know what is Normal and Ubromal price action
Watch again and take notes
Always great to learn from David Ryan, he is truly a legend

ONON tanked after those earnings, the point being, no matter how much you research a stock, it's not always going to go in the direction you think, most of the time it won't.... But when it does those gains need to outweigh your losses.
I admire David Ryan so much...such a class act and not only is he incredible at what he does, and is very good at sharing how he does it, I see he loves the Lord and wants to give Him the glory for his success.

Thank you Alison and David! It would be good if you would make a short quiz out of every discussion with such people because we would be better remember the importance /essentials of their insights. For instance David mentioned when analysing the chart by mainly price and volume also the importance of high volume when price goes up but low volume when price goes down. Only a thought...an idea...

Any ideas when David entered ONON ? He said it was before it gapped up on earnings so he seemed to have bought it when the stock was in the pivot
What to do if a stock is breaking out vcp supported by fundamentals but 2-4 days before earning announcement ?
Great question. Different traders handle this differently, and can tweak their approach depending on market environment. If David has conviction in a stock, he doesn't mind buying close to earnings. Just important to manage risk, as always. This earnings season, we saw huge moves in both directions. So it's good to make sure your portfolio can handle the worst-case scenario. That's where position sizing and sell rules come in handy.
I find it a little odd that David Ryan mentioned PTON .. This company does not meet any of the characteristics of the CANSLIM process .. a bit odd .. I wished he would of mentioned why he even looked at it
Does anyone know the perameters that are scanned for in the marketsmith250 so that I can set up that same scan on my own platform?

Can you explain the 85/85 screen in more detail?
The two criteria for the screen are filtering stocks that have an 85 or higher for two proprietary IBD ratings: Relating Strength and EPS

@@user-lk3oo5uq4z just like we have an RS Rating, we have an EPS Rating. An 85 or higher essentially means the company has an earnings track record that’s better than 85% of stocks in the market.
Unfortunately hindsight analysis tend to be easy. The reality of investing or trading is much complicated. Still, I do enjoy the seminar.
Studying the past helps us prepare for those real-time situations!
History can be a guidance for future, indeed.
Alissa, I'd like to know the criteria on his list called "Short" which is included in his Marketsmith favorites.
Let me see if I can track that down. I know for short ideas he likes looking for stocks that have been on big runs, then have topped and rolled over. Then he likes seeing a rejection at a downward sloping MA like the 50-day after a weak-volume rally.
