why the opening balance is under jan not nov? isnt because the question asked to start from jan?
It is because the question asks for a cash budget from January to June, so the opening balance is the opening balance for the cash budget i.e. at start of January. (However the question should really make that a bit clearer).
Where are you getting the purchases amounts?
