  • Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese leader Xi Jinping on Thursday reaffirmed their “no-limits” partnership that has deepened as both countries face rising tensions with the West, and they criticized U.S. military alliances in Asia and the Pacific region.
At their summit in Beijing, Putin thanked Xi for China's proposals for ending the war in Ukraine, which have been rejected by Ukraine and its Western supporters as largely following the Kremlin's line.
Putin’s two-day state visit to one of his strongest allies and trading partners comes as Russian forces are pressing an offensive in northeastern Ukraine’s Kharkiv region in the most significant border incursion since the full-scale invasion began on Feb. 24, 2022.
Mark Kennedy of the Wahba Institute for Strategic Competition joined “NewsNation Now” to discuss the visit and what it means for the U.S.

I think it's really obvious, both of these countries are more authoritarian style governments, who have no respect for borders and peace amongst countries and their neighbors only an obsession with power. Russia invaded Ukraine plain and simple, if Russia didn't invade Ukraine, both Ukraine and Russia would be going about their own business per usual and there would be no death, conflict and pointless war. There is still an ideological war on the planet Earth that still exists and permeates from WWII and probably way before that time in history. We all exist here because of the universe that doesn't care if we live or die on this planet, we are simply another animal, we evolve as humans when we learn to respect one another, exchange ideas, and work together to build the planet we wish to live on and expand humanity interplanetary. If were still stuck in the history books, of being the alpha in the pack, how are humans ever going to become more, and how is humanity ever going to live with any sustainable purpose when this planet inevitably gets wiped out by some celestial event. Is it all worth it, when all of us average human beings make progress but people who sit in governments still have to play old games.
