Tears on my reso. Such a beautiful song for such a beautiful musician and man. Mike was such a great guy, much like his successor playing his part in this video. It was an honor and a privilege to sit before Mike Auldridge and have him teach me...long may he live!
Love seeing Jerry "Flux" Douglas here paying tribute to Mike who I am sure was one of his heroes. Jerry got early exposre with many bands including The Country Gentleman, JD Crow & The New South, Boone Creek at the renowned Birchmere which in my mind would never have lasted without The Scene.
thanks to all who made this possible .........can't hear this song without hearing the dobro of Mike Auldridge , and the sound of John Duffey . Mike did an incredible album with Vassar Clements and Lowell George years ago . Even though the fiddle was late ,these guys came close to playing House of The Rising Sun as well as what was done years ago by Mike.........fitting tribute to a nice guy and a great musician . I remember the Red Fox in Bethesda ...I got off from work down the street at 10 .
You're pretty close. The Scene was formed in 1971. I first saw them at the Red Fox Inn in Bethesda. I saw them at the OLD Birchmere in 1974. My favorite band, hands down, and Mike Auldridge was the greatest (Fred Travers is a very close second.)
Sorry about the recording angle. Recording is normally Not allowed at this venue - this tribute show was an exception; however, recording had to be done from your seat (not to obscure the audience view)

Jerry is telling a story with his solo. So great!
Mike was an incredible human and musician. I hear the dobro and think of him. RIP Mike.
I've followed Jerry Dougals for a long time and I've never seen him put so much emotion into a solo. Absolutely how it should be done!
I've heard this song played brilliantly many times by many people, but never better than this.

I agree - LOVE this song!!! Just so beautiful :)
Nailed it old school tune!
Looked like it was all Jerry could do to get thru it. Fantastic tribute from one great player to another.
What a great song. Won't be very interesting without the dobro!

Boy howdy, Lou Reid is so awesome on this song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep, but still miss Duffy's high tenor on this one!
The people filming this have the mic stand blocking Jerry Douglas right hand! Comon y'all, great music but we must see it all!
