  • I got together with Mike the Boss and Chainsaw Mike to try out the Wallenstein WP1624. We loaded up some big 'ol logs with the LS tractor and SAW what this thing could do-
*UPDATE: Wallenstein is making a 6 way wedge AND a longer unloading ramp for this machine. There is ALSO a hydraulic loader option for folks who don't have themselves a fancy tractor or skid steer*
Do you want one of these wood processors or tractors? I'm always happy to help! Reach out to me at TownandCountryTractor.com - we can either set you up directly, or I can get you pointed in the right direction!
    IT'S REDNECK CHRISTMAS, BABY!

They do make a 6 way wedge for the machine. They also have a longer conveyor option. Don't need a micro switch on the bar because for smaller logs you don't take the bar all the way back up, you just go enough to clear the bar and make the next cut. This makes it very fast and still efficient to cut smaller logs. Like all machines you need to keep your eyes open. I have one of the original prototypes, It came with the 6 way so I made my own 4 way. When you are loading logs always try to keep the same size on the log deck, this saves adjusting the wedge up and down sop often. This also reduces the times you have to pull splits out from under the wedge when you want to drop the wedge. Also stage logs on the deck so the butt is to the wedge. This way the split gets smaller as it goes thru the wedge which reduces splitter trash and compressing forces. I split onto the Wallenstein conveyor then have it dumping onto a 35' grain conveyor which allows me to make a stack about 25' high. I can then move the grain conveyor side to side and then don't have to move the processor to make a 50 cord pile. The 6 way wedge is used for making campfire splits. Shoot me a reply if you want pics of my set up.

If there was a 3 inch drop after the knife you would be able to adjust the wedge between cuts.. and I agree the conveyer needs to be longer

Depending on options, around the mid 30's. They also have some smaller options for us regular folk who arent firewood tycoons

Nice machine! Pretty witty! “These logs aren’t exactly straight...well i guess it depends what state you’re in” lol 😂

Good video! I have one of these on order and is supposed to be arriving soon. I'm curious though, why at 4:55-5:00 was the chain on the infeed conveyor moving, but the log wasn't catching. Then at 5:16, I see on the infeed conveyor that you cut the log. I was wondering why did you have to do that and is that a common problem?

A few logs were really bent/wavy, so the conveyor had trouble making contact with enough of the log to move them forward. Overall, it did a pretty good job, but it needed help in some cases

This was a very serious and proper affair. I wouldn't cheapen it with jokery.

Better than what I sell but my cheap units have mirco switches for safety and automatic returning saw bar , now If I can get the boys who weld them to knock off the rust prior to welding I will be happy .

The mfg should of installed the ram to be automatic when the bar goes up. I have another brand that is automated, saves a step. Agree with the owner too, the ram speed could be faster. Maybe a two stage pump would cure that.

If you get all one type of wood, bag up the shavings for making fire starters, smokers or mulch.
At least using it at your home, likely not worth selling!

DEFINITELY! We use wood chips and wood shavings in our garden - they're a huge benefit!

What’s the music for? I’ve had a mill before and never heard it play music whilst I was cutting logs. Let natural sounds be your guide. God bless.
