My story is similar. I have had bees for 6 years, tons of success, lots of honey, lose hives rarely, never treated for mites...ever.

Commercial beekeeping has only about 60% in common with hobbyists. It is like making wine for fun at home vs having a commercial winery.

I was in a Kamon Rynolds livestream a little while back and I made the mistake of mentioning in the chat that I was treatment free. One of the people in the chat started trying to shame me for "letting my bees suffer". Well my losses are about the same as beeks that treat so...yeah really pissed me off. How much suffering are treatments causing bees. Kamon had just been talking about treatments burning brood and everything else. I agree with Bush, the treaters are prolonging the suffering. They claimed the same thing about tracheal mites and that solved itself pretty much. The same will hold true with beetles and vorroa. I've kept bees since 1995 and never treated a single colony, yes I've lost bees, so has everyone else...many to bad treatments which I never have lost a bee to a bad treatment of any kind so who is making bees suffer?
