I think the cutest thing was when he showed the guy who was meant to freak him out A Bug's Life to encourage him
it was a very nice moment😂
Agreed. It actually pulled a tear how nice he was to that guy even though he was an obstacle for him the entire time.
His parents should be so proud that they raised a legitimately good person, which he proved time and time again. He deserved that 100,000$
IMO he deserved more since the show is worth tens if not hundreds of millions.
i wonder what they would have done if he was a prick
@@USE_YOUR_BRAIN bro got his ego shattered after that lol
It's crazy to me how people are on their phones all day bombarded with negativity and sad stories that they can't even fathom that a majority of people are good people. Sad honestly
Not to say anything bad about Ronald, because he is a really nice guy, but he was probably scouted out and had background research and stuff done and so did a few other people probably to get the best person for the show.
Imagine Ronald actually getting called for jury duty. Any time something went slightly wrong I'd be ready to yell "Okay guys. You got me. I'm not falling for it twice."
hes going to be so disappointed once he realizes how boring jury duty actually is
I feel like being on this show would be reason enough to dismiss him…

I'd honesty watch a full show of just behind the scenes and the producer's reaction to whatever Ronald does
That’s a great idea instead of bloopers like the office it’s just the people behind the scene laughing their asses off.
literally like i need the extended version
dear lord yes please
The jig is up so they can't do this again realistically, but they could totally make at least a short season or even just a feature length documentary of behind the scenes footage and retrospective commentary. I'm totally into that.
@@0v_x0 they can probably do it again with enough planning. If its jury duty again, it probably can't be in california or atleast around San Diego, L.A. or Socal.
The point of the show was meant to be a really big prank, but it turnd out to be a wholesome show about a guy being tested. If they stick to that, they could do parody versions of other shows to., A fake tribe survival show, a fake restaurant competition, or other psuedo reality TV shows.
They can also do fake documentaries on other topics or things to. See how small town life is. Documenting as an intern somewhere.
I love that they all made sure to tell him that their friendships werent fake, i feel like a situation would still insanely mess you up
He still got messed up from it, apparently. Had paranoia that he was still being filmed. I’d be messed up from it, too, wouldn’t respond positively.

In an interview Ronald says him and james are still close. I guess after filming Ronald had some bad anxiety he was still being watched and reached out to James who assured him filming is over and gave him some advice. I hope they continue to be friends. You can’t deny that budding bromance we all witnessed.
Yeah, THAT filming is over. But what about meeting and interacting with other people for the rest of his life?
the show gave him PTSD
@@AdaAdaAdanna what you dont have the live stream of his life bookmarked? :p

I’d love to hear more about that. That was my concern here. I’d actually be baffled if the show didn’t provide some form of complementary therapy after that kind of experience. Finding out everything you experienced over 3 weeks is all a lie would potentially be incredibly psychologically damaging.
This made me a little teary eyed at the end, Ronald was the perfect person for this
Same! I get so weepy every time they say how much they love him
Its so adorable
Same 🥺
I don’t watch much tv. I mean very little / my wife Told me to watch this show. I absolutely adored the characters and Be Like Ronald
Legit, Ronald is like the perfect protagonist in this setting
The Ross moment was genuinely sad . Even though we know he’s an actor .
Another moment that stood out is Todd’s face during the reveal. He looked concerned that Ronald would take it poorly . Then when Todd hugs Ronald it looks like he’s almost crying .
At some point they watched a Bugs life together which indicates they all did a lot of stuff off screen
I just realized how much the show would’ve gotten messed up if he was randomly selected to do real jury duty during the show
I think you only get in trouble if you knowingly avoid it. People can go on vacation without worrying about getting Jury Duty day 1 and being a wanted person at the end of Vacation. At least you would think so. And someone said in this comment section that it is a misdemeanor if you knowingly ignore it. Meaning if you don't know you don't get into trouble. And they have 24/7 video proof that he didn't know :P
@@redholm well there's apparently lots of evidence that Gunnar knows about his lol
@@AlanaBananaCanada He knows he is part of this sure. I'm talking about getting the summons to Jury Duty. Him being in this show is proof that he could not go back home in those 3 weeks to check his mail to see he got a summons. This means he would unknowingly ignore it which is not a misdemeanor from what I heard. But if he had known form the start and done nothing about it while being able to go it would be. And I think that sounds fair.
@@redholm I know, i was segueing.
Typically you're summoned a couple months in advance, and they already had a 17 day timeline for the show so it would be nearly impossible for anything to accidentally overlap if he was called
I'm not gonna lie, the reveal where the judge lists off what good things Ronald did was kind of like the credits to a game. Like you do something good in a moment that matters in a game, and the "[name] will remember that" pops up in the top right, and then at the end it tells you how you effected the world because of certain actions you did, like "you saved [name], but you let [name] die in the process" type of things. It was quite cool. Very good show.
Bro, it felt like I was watching Zelda in real life because like in windwaker so many huge things get revealed at the end just so randomly
Yes. When the Judge started listing what Ronald did, I couldnt not cry. It was just beautiful
James has done tons of interviews and said when they wanted to cast him he almost said no because he didn’t want to “prank” someone. When they explained that it was more about lifting this person up and giving them a hero’s journey (and all their scripts called him “the hero” the whole time) he got on board. I like nice pea king like this, but I can see how it would mess you up later
I love the detail of the producer being a woman named Cody and that running joke of Noah saying Cody can be a girl name
This feels like the end of a telltale game when they make you look at your choices
+
The casting department did such an amazing job picking such a lovable person & I'm delighted for Ronald that they did. He seems super worthy of the love and the money
I think for me the preliminary psychological evaluations would make me suspicious, but it's still rather amazing it worked out so well. They put a lot of work into choosing him and he ended up more perfect than they'd imagined (bringing up the family guy idea that had already been cut from the script, coming to conclusions "as if he read the script himself," producing this show must have been so exciting). And yeah big props to him for being self aware and kind. It just speaks to his nature that he'd sooner trust the diversity of individuals, even relatively off the wall stuff, than suspect fakery. And is still just straightforward, upright and helpful. This is like the opposite of the Stanford prison experiment, or Milgram. Brings some hope to humanity.
He seems a bit dumb (good kind of dumb) like he doesn't think about it when he called the old judge "old ass cranky judge" or Noah "nerd , without self esteem" like I feel like he doesn't do it on purpose and for that he's bit not so smart , but yeh good hearted
@@0v_x0 whats amazing, is that he kinda helpped write the script, cause he would ask questions about the case, during the filming, and they were just avg plot questions, which the writers watching were like ohhh F, we need to provide answers, which probably made the show more interesting, or got him more invested, its a continuing cycle of positive/negative reenforcement.
the writers also, wrote in branching paths of the story, due to how he would react. it all depended on how far he would take things, and his relationships with the cast, as well as what would be funny....when the cake gets smashed up, he is upset cause the cast wanted to do something nice, when he wins money he decides to not take his winnings.
He's such a ridiculously likeable and decent person. I could relate to how he didn't want to be in the leadership role but he really rocked it when they put him in that position. I imagine he learned a lot about himself from this experience.
man they should do a season two with a whole new set of actors but have Ronald be part of the cast this time
How would that work out people already know about the show so they will know its fake

The sad part is Ronald proves himself to be an amazing juror and now because of this show, hell never be chosen for any real juror.
True. He might be prime subject to being changed out by one of the sides since they know he is a logical and smart guy. Which is the worst thing if you know your case is shit :P

This was such a wholesome ending . I'm glad they showed everyone hanging out beyond the end of everything. It really could have gone in a very different direction but Ronald was such a perfect person (and truly a great guy). I love how he really kept the cast and team on their toes. 10/10 and Gunnar & the community made it even better.
Wow, he's a super good guy! I'm shocked, I mean it's kinda a character check for all of us. I wouldn't have faired so well.
I would've definitely snapped at james when he flipped the Bday cake. Like real anger, and then be embarrassed cuz it was a show xd kind of a wake up call tbh
I would have done a lot of what he did but when stuff went too far I would call it out. And I wouldn't regret it. Like no way I'd take the $2000 for instance. But I would have called out James for calling paparazzi and I wouldn't have been quite as tolerant of the obnoxious movie star act. Not would I watch his movies lolol 😅
@@hectorgregorio95I don't think that's something you should be embarrassed about, they even anticipated the "Hero" possibly getting mad about it in the script. Unless you would get violent or mean. Anger was warranted for that, I knew it was fake and I was still triggered by a grown man acting like a spoiled toddler.
@@LunarElevenAs soon as I saw the hints towards "Noah" being a Mormon and how it was essentially screwing up his life, I would've become incredibly distracted with him.
Like, the way Ronald was helping "Todd" come out of his shell, I would focus most of my social time trying to get "Noah" whatever reassurance he needed to leave the cult.
It would've been... something. A not very funny topic for TV, a waste of time since he obviously was not a real Mormon, and possibly too controversial to air because not everyone in America is on board with acknowledging Mormons as cultists/cult victims yet.
So yes. You had to have the exact correct mix of personality traits that Ronald had to get such a "true ending" result. Like seriously, he was so perfect.
he literally got the coolest opportunity without even knowing it and made the experience a thousand times better than it potentially could have been just by being himself and opening up to others' company
Plot twist: the jury duty letter that’s been on Gunnar’s desk the whole time is actually an invitation to be on season 2 but he just hasn’t opened it yet
My favorite part is that at the end they are still friends and keep in touch with each others. Imagine how sad it would be to make new friends and forging a bond like that and then lose them as if nothing happened.
Well, funny series with a good premise- but tbh feels a bit cruel if i just spent multiple weeks with, seemingly, nice and genuine people and then…you find out it was all an act…i would have sleepless nights
I definitely would have cried
But the chemistry they had was insane! They genuinely had a good time and enjoyed each other
That’s why I like that they showed an actor saying 90% of their performances were genuine + that they liked him, it would be brutal if they were just totally different people who didn’t really connect with Ronald
That's exactly what I said in a comment on the last video that Gunner did. This is essentially gaslighting.
@@najadamu2724 I dunno. I don't think 100,000 is worth all of the paranoia and stress that you'll have for a long time - if not for the rest of your life. This was a great show, and I am in love with Ronald. But at the end of the day, it's kinda fucked lol
Hope they made sure he didn't have any underlying mental health conditions

They really chose a great guy. They could have picked someone who just didn’t care or maybe was too selfish, but he is just a genuine good person. It’s a good reminder that there people who can make a difference.

I’m just curious what would’ve happened if Ronald said yes to jumping on the bed
Noah would probably just say he was actually uncomfortable with the whole situation and not do it
This is genuinely the funniest and lowkey most light-hearted bamboozle ever. Very sweet ending, gave the man a lot of money and a solid laugh. Mans just a genuinely decent human being and having that showed off for a change rather than the opposite with this much success is very refreshing.
This is exactly how deliberation goes. I did jury duty a couple years ago, and we were split right down the middle to start. By the end me and one other jurer basically talked about how the state/police did a really bad job with the evidence and hadn't proved beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant knowingly committed the crime he was accused of. Also Gunnar, you can't ignore the jury duty and hope it goes away lol. You can be held in contempt of court and get big fines and even jail time.
Because "Ross" had said the plaintiff looked like his wife, and how devoted he was to acting like it was a tough case that would tooootally require deliberation...
When "his wife" showed up at the party and her face was kinda obscured I was SO sure there was going to be a mega plot twist that he somehow hid from the court that he was a biased party and would not have let her lose the case.
Whether she was literally his wife (somehow????? there'd be some excuse how he hid it but Ronald would no doubt catch on surely that's so sus for no one to research him) or that she wasn't but they looked so similar he couldn't bear to let her lose... either way, that was the twist I expected. Ross to be outed, booted, then James Marsden finally gets his time to shine and cast the "winning" vote lmfao
Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised by the wholesome truth that Ross was just lonely 😂
There was another reality show that centered around one guy being tricked like this years ago, and i think they didn't handle it well and he felt disrespected. It seems like they handled it better with this one, but the idea of being set up to this extent still makes me sick to my stomach 😅

Usually I try to keep my emotions in check, but I think that I would have broken down in tears after being told it was all fake. Three weeks of getting to know people, making friends, memories, and eventually calling each other family. To me it would feel like the last 3 weeks of my life and everyone I got close to was a lie.
If I was in a fake world like this for two weeks, it would mess me up

I believe many would argue that another but better would crosses the line.
(9:30) I was the foreperson in my last jury duty and it is similar to this. Being the foreperson, I also had to sign my name on the verdict document that sent a man away for 10 years. It's a bit of a trip knowing you have someone's life on your hands, but he was a scum bag. As to why I was chosen, I guess it had to do with me being a prior military with a master's degree and being a teacher, so I was pigeonholed and asked to take the position and I accepted it.
They need to make this into a book for pre-teens to read as a sort of children's PSA as part of a school curriculum on what happens when you are a genuinely nice guy.
that was really wholesome and im happy that Ronald still keeps in touch with the cast and that they weren't just playing complety faked characters/personality's and that they Genuinely got along with Ronald very wholesome
I just want to know what they would've said and done if Ronald was a terrible person - throws everyone under the bus constantly, isn't kind to Todd and doesn't interact with him, doesn't comfort or support Noah, demands Ken pay the $2,000 he owes, etc.

The show Joe Schmo had a similar premise as a dating show. When they decided to do the next season, they weren't as successful in terms of viewership. It's hard to keep up with a premise like that the more people are aware about it. I agree with the previous comment that they'd have to wait a couple more years
@@sumlem I probably made you think of the wrong thing here, what I actually meant was the anti-RealityTV aspect of showing people being kind and caring for each other.
