      Hello, for starters - great work. I am facing similar construction on my land, and will base on what You have made. Could You please specify the exact parameters of ordered concrete mix ? It wonders me how come when pouring conrete in the wall this conrete does not overflow out trough the footing, is this due to this conrete mix viscosity and density ? thanx in advance

    • @AllAccessConstruction
      @AllAccessConstruction  3 года назад +1

      Appreciate the comment. In essence when we pour we start with the footing. We go from one end to other this gives the footing time to set. Then we come back around we start to pour the wall in lifts. Normally a foot or two at a time. I'll have a video out next week showing this on more detail.

    Nice work! In Chicagoland we would pour the footing than set wall forms and go, much faster. Happy to see the architect understands the larger toe of the footing goes toward the low side of the retaining wall. This is the most misunderstood thing about retaining walls. I've seen engineers get this wrong.

    Personally, I believe you to be doing an amazing job. Very few people work as well as you. A small tip perhaps if you were to do some work for your own home. My grandfather was a Mason and I used to help my father collect bushels of shells at the beach, clam shells in particular. I watched my father gather all the shells place them in a drum and builds a fire around this drum. the heat would pulverize the shells and he used to collect the powder mix a cup of pulverized clam powder to 16 shovels of sand. along with a half cup of lime. he used this sand to mix into the cement. He said it would help the concrete regenerate and last for thousands of years. DO YOU BELIEVE HIM? GOOD LUCK WITH THAT ;) Try it let me know. It works best for Morter

    Great videos. So relaxed, really nice to see/hear someone so chilled about construction work. Too many people flap around and ruin a job because they are stressed.
    Just a quick question. This wall is 8 inches, how tall could you build an 8 inch wall that is free standing without any lateral pressure?

    im not particularly fond of a lump pour. leaving 2.4 in the foundation weakens the structure. Particularly fond of 2 separate pours. pour base with 1 meter of rebar above surface and remove molds in morning. tie rebar with 60cm overlap set forms and pour the following day vibrate. don't remove forms until 72 hours after pour. always add silicon base to the concrete mixture. very important.
