In Gable’s defense, what he almost certainly meant was Ben won’t wrestle because he’s on football scholarship for Iowa, and football will always take priority. Being an elite football player and elite wrestler at a D1 program would be extremely difficult, logistically speaking. Not saying it can’t, or hasn’t, been done. But it will be difficult. College wrestling is hard. Splitting time on the field and mat will hold Ben back. And I am a DIE HARD Hawks wrestling guy.
