From what I understand there were some Christian radio stations that played this song until they realized it was about Satan. I believe this video was made before Tobias revealed his identity and an actor portrayed Papa Emeritus III in the video.
I wish that I was fly on the wall at those stations seeing PD's reactions knowing that song is actually means. Song might mean something about Satan. But it is actually parodied those Fire and Brimstones Preachers and Evangelicalists at local churches plus TV Evangelicalists praying for your souls.
@@kiillabytez in Christian mythology which Ghost draws from Lucifer/Satan/Devil is all the same entity. In some songs they literrally call him by both names. Originally "Lucifer" refered to a Babylonian king and Satan was a sort of heavinly prosecuter who worked for God by they got merged along with the serpent and the beast all into the Devil.
I remember when i saw Ghost here home in Sweden for the first time in a middle big town on a middle big festival. You just knew that this is going to be something
I discovered Ghost through my daughter, who has seen Ghost in concert a few times. They are so talented, the drummer is amazing, fantastic guitarists and of course the one and only Tobias. Loved your review, smiling all through.
The duel lead guitar sends it over for me . I’ve only been listening to ghost in heavy rotation for the last couple of years and really only started deep diving in the last few months . Love ‘em
Ghost is one of those bands that even if you've never heard them before, someone could just say the name of the band, and people will tell you, "Yeah, I've heard of them."
I've been checking literally every day for another Ghost reaction (well, Ghost and VoicePlay)! There are SO MANY songs I would suggest for Ghost. I don't think you've reacted to "Faith" yet (correct me if I'm wrong), the one from A Pale Tour Named Death has studio audio with video from live performances during that tour. They did another similar video for "Life Eternal" which was the culmination of the same tour and ended with Cardinal Copia becoming Papa Emeritus IV. There are also so many great tracks that don't have actually music videos, but are fantastic nonetheless. "Kaiserion", "Absolution", "Ghuleh/Zombie Queen", "Majesty", "Mummy Dust", and so many more!
I've been watching your Ghost reactions and have been living vicariously through you since I can't hear Ghost for the first time again. I'd suggest Year Zero, Griftwood, Imperium/Kaiserian, the Sirius radio version of Zombie Queen, Kiss the Go Goat, and Mummy Dust since I don't think you've done any of those yet.
Fabulous tune. Incidentally, if you watch the original video again at 2:09 (3:03 in your reaction video) and go forward frame by frame, you will catch one frame that shows Tony Alamo, the cult leader. I think you picked up that this tune is supremely satirical! It sounds like a modern Christian song, just better. I am really enjoying your Ghost journey, and have subscribed. You remind me of me, I discovered Ghost at the back of '22, but I have the luxury of bingeing the back catalogue 🙂 As someone has already suggested, 'Faith' from A Pale Tour Named Death, a rather bitter but powerful song, 'Square Hammer' (which is their second most streamed song), also a brilliant video, and the moving 'Life Eternal', which is one of their most beautiful and simple tunes; the video is set to fan footage at a concert in Mexico City, as a love letter to the fans (look for 'Life Eternal Palacio de los Deportes'). The song itself can be read more than one way but has been used at funerals AND weddings... Copia becomes Papa Emeritus IV at the end of that one. Oh, and 'Absolution', an absolute banger, just brought back into the live setlist. Oh, and 'Witch Image'. Oh and 'Imperium' into 'Kaisarion' (album opener for 'Impera'), and 'Griftwood', and... and...
Watcher in the sky...rats... mummy dust...Cirice...Spillways...call me little sunshine....tina Turner cover We dont need another hero....Dance Macabre huh I may be a fan.
Ghost has disrupted some conventions about heavy/hard rock and some people don't like having their turf uprooted(Grunge is a good example), not me I've enjoyed Ghost. Every album is different Tobias doesn't try to repeat himself to often.
I just realized they are in a church right? They actually rented a church for a day to shoot a music video in which they glorify statan in the name of satire. 😂😂😂😂 What a baller move !

LOL. I can only imagine their faces after that

Tobias was the person acting in the video.
(i have been corrected)
LUCIFER, NOT SATAN.
MORNING STAR=LUCIFER.

Dude, your reaction is a delight to watch. Just enjoying the music and not interrupting it - kudos!
As a former fundamentalist christian and current Ghost enjoyer, this is the best and most accurate reaction I've seen. Propers.
Whatever it is...a mockery....a parody.....it is fucking beautiful.
This song is ridiculous good, wow!

🔥🤘👻🔥
Have you done Year Zero yet? Next up if not imo
Damn I love Satan!
Metal bands make songs about the devil. Ghost makes songs for the devil
Lucifer, not Satan. Morning Star=Lucifer.
I can't not see Jim Jones .
You are correct. I think there's even one frame of his actual likeness in there.
@@Tbone.357it’s Tony Alamo :)

I'm sure I'm not the first person to say this but,
You kinda look like Roman Reigns.
