I love sheikh Assim Al Hakeem for the sake of Allah. But I really do like this sheikh. I could listen to him all day. Even if he was to be angry with me I still would listen to him. May Allah grant him and his family good health and a long life so I can benefit even more from him. Ameen.
Literally the VAST MAJORITY of all ulema of the past including Ibn Taymiyyah, Abu Hanifa and many many others have clearly said that these two ahadeeth should be interpreted as being suggestive of the fact that wearing garments below the ankle is only haram if done out of pride. If not done out of pride, it isnt haram and thus not a sin. Abu hanifa literally used to drag his garment. And when asked by someone as to why he does it, when its supposedly haram, he clearly explained that he isn't doing it out of pride and thus not haram. Like seriously, this issue is one of ikhtilaaf. Lets respect each side and not try to impose our chosen opinion as being the only acceptable one. Lets learn to be tolerant in issues of ikhtilaaf.
Yeah I think what you say is the truth. Theres no way anyone would get hellfire because their pants are below their ankles that’s simply ridiculous unless they are prideful. People who spread that misinformation are only making it hard for non Muslims to believe in Islam in the future.
Probably because long garments/robes like we usually saw kings and nobles wore back then were always so long they pretty much drag it around everywhwre as the garment like that show status symbol it was linked with arrogance, and were all supposed to be humble and equal in worship, this is why there is debate about not wearing any trinkets like necklace, armband or bracelet while praying for fear it invite pride. Personally i would left my watch or bracelets during shalat and now im wearing my trousers above my ankles just in case, it didnt harm anyone and it's simple thing to do it doesnt bother me

In my five months of living in Saudi Arabia, I have observed specially in mosque 95% of Saudi men wear Thobes below their ankles. Some of them even lead prayers in the local mosque while wearing Thobes below their ankles. The same practice is observed among Egyptians who wear Thobes. Also Indian and Bangladeshi mostly let their Pants below their ankle. Only Almost all Pakistanis, Afghans, and Sudanese are well aware about this i think Because their pajamas are above ankle.

When I see this, it breaks my heart because they are so close to the Muslim countries. This is the condition of our ummah today. We cant even accept something that is totally haram in islam. I have had chance to talk about this matter to some of my muslim friends who practice Islam. When I told them not to wear trousers below ankle the start arguing this and that. My job is to tell them what is right . Ignorance is bliss.

The reason is pretty obvious for the instructions. It is mentioned in some Ahadith and not in others. There is no reason to believe that the other Hadith without arrogance mentioned does not have the same reason behind it. That's why we cannot drive rulings from Ahadith because the context of Ahadith is unknown. If we collect all the Ahadith on this topic, it is obvious that the instructions were given to avoid the attire of arrogant and thugs.

Bro, wear what is necessary. Allah won’t make any people suffer more than they can adore, Your body is from Allah, protecting it is your responsibility, So do whatever good for your health. This hadith is on Arrogance, If for climate or any other necessity, it’s allowed. That hadith continues when abu bakr ra asked prophet his garment cant stay and goes down, prophet clarifies its not about it, you don’t have to worry. So just take it in logical way instead asking everything. It’s known as Qiyas in fiqh.

I live in the Netherlands, and all seasons except summer i put my pants in my socks for warmth, when i do that obviously my pants goes lower than my ankles, is that still haram? Am i just supposed to let my legs get cold?

Can someone please explain to me why wearing pants or thobes below the ankle is a problem? I know Allah (SWT) only wants the best for us, and is fair and just, and has a reason and purpose for everything. I'm just the type of person who needs to know why this is an issue. If according to our scholar ustaz Azhar idrus from Malaysia, it's not a wrong thing to wear trouser or whatever similar like that below the ankle. It's only a problem when in your heart there's arrogant comes because of that which I believe no one feels that anymore. This hadith was for the those Arabs that feels arrogant because of that and maybe, if there's people feels arrogant in this regard in this current time.
Elon musk is about to colonise Mars and here we are debating a trivial point like this. The point of this Hadith is to discourage arrogance and flaunting of wealth and status. According to my understanding, in those societies and maybe even in some current societies having your garment too low or drag behind us is a way to show arrogance and flaunt your wealth. The Prophet PBUH never said something without wisdom. Everything he said was very specific to the time, place and custom of those specific people being addressed. In America for example wearing your pants at full proper length is not a sign of anything. In fact it’s a sign of proper way of dressing. We should focus on more pertinent and more topics involving knowledge and wisdom. The kind that ushered in the Islamic Golden Age. We are so behind in terms of science, technology and medicine. At one time the westerners would come to Muslim lands to attend our higher education institutions to learn. Now it’s the other way around because we have forgotten how to think rationally. We don’t ponder about the world around us as Allah (swt) has commanded us to do so in the holy Quran.

When Muslims focus so much on the minute aspects of fiqh and neglect the major principles of Islam and akhlaaq, it trivialises the deen to a point where people can’t honestly think it’s guidance (نعوذ بالله). On the specific point though, I’ve heard Arabs till today have a tendency to wear longer jubbahs today to show off their wealth or status because other than that they all have the same clothing (white jubbah quite often). One can also say, brides in the Western or Christian world with long trains of their dresses also indicate how high her wealth or status is. All of that should be avoided because it’s clearly arrogance. If a man wears a suit with trousers covering the ankles, I don’t believe he for one second thinks he’s above anybody else. و الله أعلم

It’s not about arrogance either, it’s an obligation is to keep garments/ trousers above ankle bone. Some people have their trousers or garments even higher.
What a thing to be preoccupied with! Focus on leading a good life, helping others, being of some use to society......really if God is going to look at the length of my trousers rather than all this, I am happy to have my brains boil over....
Seems you are pre-occupied with some thoughts!! Once we know we have to keep our clothing above ankle we get it done and dusted. Not keep our minds alert to check and think. Else following government rules also are a preoccupation.
I think there's a great wisdom behind such requirements btw at least follow the world's most strict and harsh religion cause if anyhow this turns out to be the only Truth after your death then you're literally screwed my friend.

To think that you are a better believer if you shorten your cloth 1 cm is the height of pridefulness. Of course, you didn't say that about yourself specifically but refered to this supposed general truth. It's still confusion. The law of God serves God and man by bringing humans closer to God. It serves to increase our Love for God. The Jews began to worship the law instead of worshipping God by loving Him and obeying His commands in Love. When Jesus Christ came to earth, He taught us how not to worship the law but worship Him without hypocrisy and pretention. Of course, many Muslims probably love God. However, this occurs with respect to their genuine ignorance of Christ, not with respects to their denial of Him as the Son of God. To sum up, the problem is not that God cannot make very specific laws. He gave many such laws to the Jews. The problem is when these laws are elevated above God by attaching oneself to them instead of God. Also, Christ fulfilled the Law when He came to earth. From there on we knew that it is not what we eat that defiles us but what comes out of our hearts and mouths than makes us unclean. This is what the Law always pointed towards and achieved for the true believers of all times. But Christ revealed this once and for all in stunning and perfect clarity.

The creator doesn’t care about the length of your pants. But the creator does care if you are a haughty arrogant person. In most Arab societies the arrogant show their arrogance by wearying long dresses and letting it drag behind them. So the prophet of Islam discouraged this based on the premise that it’s a sign of arrogance.

The reason is pretty obvious for the instructions. It is mentioned in some Ahadith and not in others. There is no reason to believe that the other Hadith without arrogance mentioned does not have the same reason behind it. That's why we cannot drive rulings from Ahadith because the context of Ahadith is unknown. If we collect all the Ahadith on this topic, it is obvious that the instructions were given to avoid the attire of arrogant and thugs.

Bro, wear what is necessary. Allah won’t make any people suffer more than they can adore, Your body is from Allah, protecting it is your responsibility, So do whatever good for your health. This hadith is on Arrogance, If for climate or any other necessity, it’s allowed. That hadith continues when abu bakr ra asked prophet his garment cant stay and goes down, prophet clarifies its not about it, you don’t have to worry. So just take it in logical way instead asking everything. It’s known as Qiyas in fiqh.

It's only a problem when in your heart there's arrogant comes because of that which I believe no one feels that anymore. This hadith was for the those Arabs that feels arrogant because of that and maybe, if there's people feels arrogant in this regard in this current time.

Elon musk is about to colonise Mars and here we are debating a trivial point like this. The point of this Hadith is to discourage arrogance and flaunting of wealth and status. According to my understanding, in those societies and maybe even in some current societies having your garment too low or drag behind us is a way to show arrogance and flaunt your wealth. The Prophet PBUH never said something without wisdom. Everything he said was very specific to the time, place and custom of those specific people being addressed. In America for example wearing your pants at full proper length is not a sign of anything. In fact it’s a sign of proper way of dressing. We should focus on more pertinent and more topics involving knowledge and wisdom. The kind that ushered in the Islamic Golden Age. We are so behind in terms of science, technology and medicine. At one time the westerners would come to Muslim lands to attend our higher education institutions to learn. Now it’s the other way around because we have forgotten how to think rationally. We don’t ponder about the world around us as Allah (swt) has commanded us to do so in the holy Quran.

When Muslims focus so much on the minute aspects of fiqh and neglect the major principles of Islam and akhlaaq, it trivialises the deen to a point where people can’t honestly think it’s guidance (نعوذ بالله). On the specific point though, I’ve heard Arabs till today have a tendency to wear longer jubbahs today to show off their wealth or status because other than that they all have the same clothing (white jubbah quite often). One can also say, brides in the Western or Christian world with long trains of their dresses also indicate how high her wealth or status is. All of that should be avoided because it’s clearly arrogance. If a man wears a suit with trousers covering the ankles, I don’t believe he for one second thinks he’s above anybody else. و الله أعلم

You called Catholics "idol worshippers" in another video with deactivated comments. In my opinion, by alleging that people would be puished by God for having their trousers 1 cm too long, you are creating a wrong, idolatrous representation of God in your head.
God loves every human. If Islam was the true Faith, obviously, God would love Muslims who follow it. Why would you burn someone in hellfire that you love because of such a petty thing? It's unlogical and would be unbecoming of the most merciful God (Astaghfirullah).
Of course, God can do whatever He pleases, so this is not to limit God's power or wisdom whatsoever. But God never does something that is against reason. Thus, if we perceive a contradiction, there has to be an answer, even if we ourselves are too stupid to understand it.

Idk why pork is haram in Islam. Some Muslims explain that it is because pigs are quite dirty animals which is true. In Mark 7:19, Jesus declares all food to be halal. The worship of the law that the Jews to His time were engaging in is also not from God but a distraction from real worship of God.

The law of God serves God and man by bringing humans closer to God. It serves to increase our Love for God.
The Jews began to worship the law instead of worshipping God by loving Him and obeying His commands in Love. When Jesus Christ came to earth, He taught us how not to worship the law but worship Him without hypocrisy and pretention.
Of course, many Muslims probably love God. However, this occurs with respect to their genuine ignorance of Christ, not with respects to their denial of Him as the Son of God.
To sum up, the problem is not that God cannot make very specific laws. He gave many such laws to the Jews. The problem is when these laws are elevated above God by attaching oneself to them instead of God. Also, Christ fulfilled the Law when He came to earth. From there on we knew that it is not what we eat that defiles us but what comes out of our hearts and mouths than makes us unclean. This is what the Law always pointed towards and achieved for the true believers of all times. But Christ revealed this once and for all in stunning and perfect clarity.

The creator doesn’t care about the length of your pants. But the creator does care if you are a haughty arrogant person. In most Arab societies the arrogant show their arrogance by wearying long dresses and letting it drag behind them. So the prophet of Islam discouraged this based on the premise that it’s a sign of arrogance.
