I needed a gift for my sister's birthday, so I've only just tried this design for the very first time - and I absolutely love the result, Stephanie!! I was using 11/0's in Galvanised Yellow Gold and 15/0 & 3mm Bugles in Metallic Dark Gold - so I just used 9k gold-filled round beads instead of Bicones, and they worked out so beautifully! They look like a genuine solid gold bead, so combined with the solid gold ear-wires & clasp I used, the gold beads lend a very high-quality finish to the overall piece, which is a stunning & substantial design : ) Now I'm working on a set for myself using the parcel of magnificent & perfectly cut & sized Natural 8mm Faceted Burmese Rubies that I acquired at an auction for this purpose - so of course it's well worth the expense to use a solid or/ gold-filled clasp for the matching bracelet, as it's such a substantial design that will last forever, especially for the amount of wear it will be getting! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful designs, Stephanie ❤️💐 I very rarely ever stick to your instructions, rather you inspire me to come up with my own new designs which then evolve into something completely different - but this was one time when I didn't deviate a wink except for the colours, and it's one of the loveliest pieces that I've ever done. I've been very fortunate to get my hands on some fabulous parcels of the most perfect natural faceted gemstones - @and they are perfect upgrades for all of your chaton ideas, plus I've purchased some huge gemstones (50+ carats!) for centre-piece Cabs in Natural Ruby, Sapphire, Tanzanite, Topaz, Aquamarine - & I even found a giant round-cut Colombian Emerald of 79 cts (that has become my favourite choker-necklace). So Solid Gold &/or Stirling beads & findings are the only worthy accompaniments for such rare and precious gems, IMO. And this Ruby bracelet isn't quite finished yet, but it's all working out perfectly, thanks to your expert directions ❤️. Apart from buying some beading books early on, I was entirely self-taught before I discovered your channel..so my own designs are very unique too. But two things that I particularly love about your work are the sheer elegance that you always create in every one of your designs, and the attention to the perfect selection of colours you use to keep them elegant : ) I learned early that just choosing the wrong colours can downgrade a beautiful piece of hand-beaded jewellery, as the elegance of the design is so easily lost..it can look cheap & tacky, but yours are always pure class - & I took that on board from the very start. It's always better to wait & order in suitable colours than to use what's in my stash just because it's the right size & type of bead! Thank you a million times 💐💐💐💐💐 PS - I just tried out another earring to see if I can use 3mm Freshwater Seed Pearls instead of bugle-beads - and IT WORKS PERFECTLY! The trick was to sort through the FW Rice Pearls to ensure that they are all EXACTLY the same size & shape, as they can vary by up to 1mm in both width & length. I chose the slimmest Pearls, not fatter ones, & I even went as far as using my digital calipers to measure them all for perfect size. The Cabochon & drops are highly polished Faceted Green Aventurine (to go with with my fave Emerald Cab choker-necklace), with 3mm Gold-filled beads, Clear AB Firepolish, & seed-beads in Metallic Dark Gold - with the 3mm Freshwater Rice Pearls.. & the result is a very elegant finish in a classic vintage style earring that looks like it cost a fortune : ) I wish I could send pics but I refuse to have Facebook or Instagram - I'd never get any beading done. But now I can't wait to finish the second earring so I can wear them out to lunch with my new green frock later on today! I truly love, love, LOVE this design, Stephanie! I can see myself making quite a few sets as it's the perfect way to use up all of the 8mm gemstone Cabs I've collected over the last few years! Bronze Pony your choice of jewelry (i.e.) earrings, bracelets, rings or necklace, or so classic. And you don't stop there. Your choice of color palette is superb! I try to choose different colors but I love the choices you have made. We definitely have the same taste. And I usually like to design my own things. But I find myself keeping your choices. Rarely, do I change. Sometimes I feel I have another me walking around or vise versa! Also, may I add the quality of materials and the design is secure. And that is what I look for in jewelry making. I am new to seed beads so it will take me awhile to create as I learn the stitches better. :D

I fell in love immediately! This may help anyone having trouble like I did: there was no way I could get my chaton in - so I pulled out the reinforcing stitches and the corner 15/0’s. Then my stone went in, and I beaded around just fine.

Such a beautiful tutorial. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us. I made the bracelet using 8mm Czech Candy Beads in place of the chatons. You do have to take the extra time to secure the Candy Beads so they won't pop out, but we all need to use what is in our bead stash when we can. Best Wishes to you in this new year.
I like to shop fishing supplies for findings. I could mount the earring to a small swivel then to the earwire and the earring could then...spin. Fly eyes are neat little elements too.
love this pattern, i have been working on the bracelet, but i will say i am having issues with the true 2 bead , im using 6 fireline , and size 11 seed bead , but trying to go thru on that 3rd pass i cant tell you how many have broke , so i have had to take the bracelet apart twice ...... i then went to a 3 mm round bead in the very center where the chaton will fit , and only stuck with the true 2s on the outside , that worked well for me , but other wise i am in love with this piece !!! thanks for another great video and pattern stephanie!!! ur the bomb!!!

I’ve ordered both Swarovski and preciosa bicones at the same time in the same colors (preciosa offers some of the same exact colors as Swarovski) and honestly the preciosa are VERY similar to Swarovski! Size and sparkle! At 1/4 of the price!

I love both the earings and the bracelet and have just got some Preciosa chatons and pearls to make them. I think the pearls you used may actually be from Preciosa (preciosacomponents.com). It would be great to know as they are available in the UK from a number of our local suppliers. The delivery costs from the US can quite high. I’ve ordered both Swarovski and preciosa bicones at the same time in the same colors (preciosa offers some of the same exact colors as Swarovski) and honestly the preciosa are VERY similar to Swarovski! Size and sparkle! At 1/4 of the price!

I love both the earings and the bracelet and have just got some Preciosa chatons and pearls to make them. I think the pearls you used may actually be from Preciosa (preciosacomponents.com). It would be great to know as they are available in the UK from a number of our local suppliers. The delivery costs from the US can quite high. Thanks for everything you do - I have made a few of your pieces and every tutorial you do give inspiration.
