If only that could've been recorded. Supposedly Malcolm was the only one who knew this song when Brian mentioned it, but the sound of his Gretsch playing those opening chords would be amazing to hear. The band had just lost Bon Scott and probably thought they had a snowball's chance in hell of continuing onto any further success, so no hindsight to record such a legendary audition existed.

It's been rumoured for years that Marc Bolan (T. Rex) did the guitar for Nutbush City Limits. He was living in LA at the time, as were the Ike & Tina. Bolan's girlfriend was one of the backing vocalists for Ike & Tina Turner during the 60s and she confirmed this in a documentary on Marc Bolan that this was in fact the case.

that AC/DCish guitar tone really fits this song, and tbh i like this version more than the original song!, i think it's not only the sound, but the simplicity of it, i've heard other live versions of this song and there's a lot of instruments involved, but here you just hear drums, guitar and bass, and it's brilliant.
