- Esquif Scout - 14'6" T-Formex Canoe - On Water Review
Could this be the best new paddler canoe ever?
Mike from Old Creel Canoe & Kayak paddles the Scout solo with a single bladed canoe paddle and double bladed paddle. Tune in to see his thoughts!

Nice looking canoe Mike.
Thanks for the video.
I also want to thank you and Kristen for your help back in March.
I absolutely love my Esquif Adirondack and its everything I need.
Maybe you can do a video on the Adirondack?
Happy paddling to you and your family.
For the best service and product line, I highly recommend Old Creel Canoe & Kayak.
Cheers 👍
You should make a esquif heron review the square back canoe !
Nice video! Is the bottom oil canning?
@@slmjake T-Formex (ABS) canoes do have flex. This flex is also what keeps it from breaking when it bumps into rocks.
How does it paddle solo when you are not on your knees? Is there enough room for a tall person (6'2") to sit without knees hitting the yoke?
@@Bham67 I am 5'11" and did not feel close to the yoke. I think you'd probably be fine. You can always find one at a dealer and try to make sure.
Seated paddling was good. I sometimes kneel for comfort and to keep a low centre of gravity.
IMO, a properly designed canoe should not have any flex on its bottom. My 15 ft Curtis does not flex on its bottom, and it does not have a keel to stiffen it. Weighs in at 44 lbs (fiberglass)
How much does this one in this video weigh?
@@jeffreyerwin3665 Everyone has their own calculus to determine what canoe works best for them. If that fibreglass canoe works for you that's great. This flex in the T-Formex will keep the Esquif Scout canoe from cracking if it hits a rock in moving water. The Esquif Scout weighs 59 lbs.
