Davis may have CTE. The confusion he demonstrated in the play you showed would suggest it. And perhaps his great distress to the point he could not function as a player last year was masking the CTE with the explanation it was grief from his mother dying. Obviously, Davis is not the player the Bears recruited with a big contract and is a huge liability. The fact that we still have Larry Borom and Nate Davis on the team, shows how much work Poles has to do. Nobody on the line looks like a pro bowler right now and, maybe, we have two starting tackles who are swing tackles or backups? Maybe time will tell…
Not saying Davis has been good, but Thayer said that block when he missed two guys was because he was going to the outside because Swift was supposed to bounce outside and Davis was getting leverage by running to that side. Go back and watch the replay and it makes sense. Everyone saying it’s just the line. The whole offense is not in sync at all. Caleb, oline, receivers. How many times is Caleb throwing to a wr and they are running a different route than what he is expecting.
I heard that before I watched it, it doesn't explain how fails to do anything. How he stares at one guy yet runs toward the other. Nothing about what Nate did on that play made sense no matter what Swift did behind him.
That's the type of player Wright needs beside him. A guard that has a cerain aggressiveness that will allow the RT natural beast mode to come out. That is why certain analysts were asking for Jenkins tomove to RG. Keeping some continuity is important. I don't care about teh PFF nmbers, colemanneeds to come to the bench, the colts game should be his last chance as a starter.
The block with Pryor and Wright was Wright got his leg too far in front of himself and the defender went down as much from Pryor's block as from tripping over Wright'sleg
The Center position has to be addressed. Shelton is not strong enough, and can't anchor; This is why he is constantly driven into the backfield. You have has Kramer for 2 years. Either, you give Kramer a chance or get rid of him. I personally don't think he can be any worse the Shelton.
Bear Claw fans, that example of Davis was ONE of the worst 0-lineman moments I've seen in over 50 years of watching football! Are, you freakin' kidding me?? Our only hope is to make him into a TE, Fullback, etc. so he can show his allusiveness to avoid contact! ANY coach looking at this has got to be screaming!
Watch the old 22, Davis plays well on 90 to 95% of his snaps you pick out one particular snap where he screws up and it’s the end of the world! What are we talking about here? If you prefer prior, just say you prefer prior, but don’t cherry pick bad plays because you can do that to any player. The biggest problem with Davis says he’s got two guys on either side of them that don’t know how to play their positions and it makes it a lot tougher on him.
I don’t know what is going on with the Bears OL. Nate Davis was a top 15 to 20 guard in the NFL before coming to Chicago. Now we have Lucas Patrick with an elite PFF grade in NO this season. Patrick was terrible here. I think there might be a coaching or scheme issue. PFF ranked the Bears OL 11th best in the NFL coming into this season. Even last season, ESPN analytics had the Bears OL top 5 in both pass block win rate and run block win rate. Some of last years issues can be attributed to Fields and his issues in the pocket, but this is nuts. To be fair, the Titans and Texans are solid upfront. The Colts on the other hand are terrible, if the Bears can’t move the ball against them there are serious coaching/game planning issues.
Oline play isn't about 1 on 1s as much in the NFL. So many stunts and blitzes, its about communicating. The Saints already had a good oline, guys that have played together for a couple of years. When you just add ONE new guy in, its easy to mix in. Patrick is their 5th best player, they are able to hide his defenencies easier. SOME day we will have that, but we have a lot of young players, it takes time.
We found an investor for Guard a couple of years ago in Nate Davis. He must have figured out that he can live the rest of his life on the contract the Bears shouldn't have given him. He is probably good with money and figures that he doesn't need to work hard ever again for another contract! LAZY, LAZY, LAZY! Too many guys out there that busted their tails and fell short for a guy like Davis to be taking advantage of the NFL finance opportunities!
In the tape that you showed of Nate Davis last week, that indecision, lack of technique and understanding of the play is a direct result of a lack of practice. I ask people, is that the play call or the player? Kind of obvious.
By my estimation the Bears are headed to a 5-12 season. Specifically because of the OL and a rookie QB. Poles should keep his cool and not do anything drastic. But, what’s up with this Nate Davis character?
I personally think Nate Davis has been trying to be benched or cut since last season and the Eberflus and Poles have been just so reluctant in getting the hint. He missed the whole offseason program and training camp basically, and since they made him start anyway, he’s purposely trying to play bad to get benched. He just doesn’t wanna play and hasnt for a long time
I wanted Ryan Poles to sign Connor Williams so bad. Would have been a friendly contract too. Not only he’s playing and starting (bounced back from his injury), he would be the best OL on this team. And this all with a mere $6M cap hit this season
When the Bears are 1-3 and the Steelers are 3-1, what will be the talk in Chicago? Bad signings by Poles, that's what. As for Pryor over Davis...what took this staff so long to do something about Davis?
Unfortunately the Bears management was not ready to turn the corner with the team. we could have drafted 2 lineman in the top ten. instead we draft the positions we already had. I was screaming at the draft and now im laughing.
I know there wasn’t the biggest chance of us resigning Allen but man I really hope we don’t with his history of injury and the fact he’s already injured this year 2 games in
Nate is BIGG WHIFF by our GM. Poles needs to get his ass in gear regarding offensive line. It's one thing to invest little in Oline, but those moves need to pan out or you end up with this situation. no depth and rickety starters.
On the footage of Matt Pryor, that Swifty is showing; Notice #65, the Center, next to him. Pay careful attention to how the Center(Shelton), is getting pushed around and struggling to hold his position. I rest my case; We need another Center. That's the main weakness on this line.
I think Nate mentally is still a wreck from losing his mother. Probably can't depend on him as a starter. Hopefully Prior or Bates can solidify the RG spot.
Matt Pryor is an upgrade from Nate Davis cuz Davis doesn’t care and doesn’t give 100% effort. We need someone committed to the game and not Always absent so they can build continuity.
"Absolutely disgusting" is exactly right Swift and it pisses me off. I am so tired of Nate Davis, he was SO much better in Tennessee, I don't know wtf happened to him. 🐻⬇️ ✌️✝️
At this point coaches need to be honest and hold players accountable. Tf with making buddies with the players at the end of the day they don’t care if your their coach/friend they’re in it for the money. This is a business, and besides when flus gets fired a maybe good look for his next position that he does speak up when it’s necessary. BE A MAN FLUS AND GROW A PAIR
Nate Davis is what happens when you’ve missed training camp and preseason, you’re not on the same page and you don’t have chemistry with the other 4 linemen.
For the ones mad about us getting Rome instead of O-Line, how was Poles supposed to know that his free agent acquisitions like Davis and Shelton were gonna be this bad. Especially judging by how they played in Tennessee and LA. Idk wtf they drink before playing for Chicago but they need to poor that shit out. That Nate Davis film you just showed just pissed me tf off. I get if we just can’t block anyone but this mf WONT block anyone, that’s is unacceptable. Shelton I feel will do decent enough to hold up until we finally draft our franchise center, but Davis has gotta go. Like I try to give players chances but I think he needs to retire and go get some therapy or fall in love or something cuz it don’t seem like football is doin for him.
ABND=Anybody But Nate Davis. But cant cut him BC he cost 10 ml against Cap. After Season is 1 ml. Get that running game going then we will work with getting continuity on the Online. YEAH MA MAN , PRYOR DID LOOK GOOD IN PRE SEASON . YOU'RE RIGHT SWIFTY WHAT THE HECK WAS DAVIS THINKING LET ALONE DOING ! I WAS WONDERING WHEN YOU WERE GOING TO BRING UP THE ROSHON JOHNSON ISSUE ,HE HADN'T BALLED SINCE PRESEASON ! TO PUT MY QUARTERS ( 25 cents ) IN FLUS SHOULD HAVE UTILIZE RASHON ( I know my spelling ) AND LET HIM BALL , SO WHAT WAS UP WITH THAT . THANKS SWIFTY FOR YOUR HELP ON ALL THIS STUFF . AS ALWAYS " BEAR DOWN "
SWIFTY IN DA HOUSE !
The fact that we still have Larry Borom and Nate Davis on the team, shows how much work Poles has to do. Nobody on the line looks like a pro bowler right now and, maybe, we have two starting tackles who are swing tackles or backups? Maybe time will tell…
Why are they not playing tyler scott
First 3 picks in the Draft should ALL be offensive lineman!!!! This is Horseshit that they're probably going to ruin another young QB!!!
The block with Pryor and Wright was Wright got his leg too far in front of himself and the defender went down as much from Pryor's block as from tripping over Wright'sleg
I'll go with the motivated enthusiastic guy (Matt Pryor) every time!
I liked Matt Pryor in the preseason idk what’s to Nate Davis but he’s not playing like he wants to play for the Chicago bears
There are 3-4 reps like this every single week. The stunts and losing 1 on 1 reps. Its ALL on the tape my man.
Didst we get Nate with a Realy high pick .... WTH. What a BUST. WASTE OF A PICK
No, we signed him in free agency. He didn't cost any draft pick at all. Only money.
In the tape that you showed of Nate Davis last week, that indecision, lack of technique and understanding of the play is a direct result of a lack of practice. I ask people, is that the play call or the player? Kind of obvious.
So Flus wants continuity but he gonna rotate the guard? Idk why they insist on having nate Davis play
He just doesn’t wanna play and hasnt for a long time
Send Nate Davis to the New England Patriots
Darnell Wright is the worst player on the team. The Bears staff must not be looking at game film of him being lost out there!
Neither must you 😆
I wanted Ryan Poles to sign Connor Williams so bad. Would have been a friendly contract too. Not only he’s playing and starting (bounced back from his injury), he would be the best OL on this team. And this all with a mere $6M cap hit this season
He was at the top of my free agent rankings ALLLLLLLL offseason long.
Really wanted to fix the center position.
Man great injury updates Swifty!!! Davis needs to be benched and Pryor needs to start!!! BEARDOWN ✌️ 💯 💪 👊!!!
Thanks brother! Bear Down!!
"You know how to get to Carnegie Hall don't you?...Practice"... - Aldo Raine
We've long needed another center.
@@SwiftSportsNetwork I would love to see what you think of Kramer's development at Center.
I think Nate mentally is still a wreck from losing his mother. Probably can't depend on him as a starter. Hopefully Prior or Bates can solidify the RG spot.
That’s what happens when you don’t put in the work
Run Bears, run! Play Pryor and Johnson gets some runs against a bad D-line!

✌️✝️
Holy tits... Pryor is HUGE! Lining up next to Wright, towers over him like a child.
Bring in Pryor, byby NO practice Nate!!😂😊❤
What about the center position? by putting Kramer in the starting lineup??
Nah, he's a good kid but not an upgrade yet
I glad Pryor in he does his job and Nate Davis does not
3:35 NATE DAVIS WHAT ARE YOU DOING??? 😂😂😂 That was hilarious!!!
Great news. After almost beating the Texans in Houston, the Colts will be far easier to defeat. Bears 38, Colts 10
Well let's just see put him in there and while they are at it put Roshon Johnson in the RB rotation
Nate Davis should be embarrassed for literally doing nothing... He should not be able to get away with this🤦🏿♂️
ABND=Anybody But Nate Davis. But cant cut him BC he cost 10 ml against Cap. After Season is 1 ml. Get that running game going then we will work with getting continuity on the Online. Very sad to see Velus still on Roster all guys should be making an impact. If Ian Wheeler wadnt hurt Velus would be on the Street. Go Bears! Gods Blessings 🙏
