- Team Liquid’s CS:GO team has a long and proud history.
They’re Major finalists, Grand Slam winners, and have been considered NA’s greatest roster for years.
But despite their incredible legacy, Team Liquid has experienced some of the worst defeats in CS:GO history.
Now, as one of North America’s last top tier teams, Liquid is carrying the hopes and dreams of an entire region.
But in order to succeed, they'll need to overcome a curse that’s been plaguing them for years.

That was a nice way of showing coldzera's jumping awp and simple's double noscope on cache.
They always gotta show it
LMAO
I'm actually getting tired of "THIS IS NOT FPL THIS IS A MAJOR" like bro
@@Mankind5490 they've been using the same few clips for as long as I have been subscribed.
Оk
"Somewhere, some way, somehow North America always fucks it up at the end. Fuck me" - NA caster losing it
that's captain flowers put respect on his name 😤
it is natural for north american teams to lose. they have the smallest playerbase, they have horrible online culture, their pings are too high to even hold angles so they learn this agressive peeking style but then it doesn't work on lan and takes a year to get rid of that habit, and so it's obvious they will lose. yes there were some rare moments where c9, eg, and liquid showed good results but at the end of the day europe have better practice environment, more players and less egocentric so they will always be favorites win. even in lol and dota2, american teams are bad as well for similar reasons.
@@m4a1snerfed high ping? I think US and Canada play at 60 ping max
@@KennyAMT that is high ping lol
@@KennyAMT 60 ping is alot I live in Canada and I never get under 50 ping
Watching liquid play is so heartbreaking, because they consistently look really really good. They look like they could easily win anyone they play, then they lose anyway.
Same shit with Mouz, on paper they are amazing, but never any delivery :(
@@infera666 yea but the thing is, there have been so many teams that should do good on paper but don't deliver. The cloud9 roster put together just before they left cs was the same way. But liquid is different, they look good too. They make insane plays all the time. They make really good mid round calls. All of them are capable of getting an ace every once in a while, and I'm pretty sure they all have pretty recently. But they just never win. They always choke. They consistently end up on the receiving end of insane clutches and multikills that should never happen.
They just can’t fucking close out on map point it’s so frustrating.
Yeah. That Refrezh 1v5. 😑😑
I feel like this is a bait and switch...
Watch em fail, then rise again.
Only a matter of time.
The most painful thing about being a Liquid fan is that, in every destruction clips, Liquid is the opponent. Man, I hate CS GO clips
As a liquid fan I can’t watch the refrez clutch anymore it just hurts
But it was still awesome though... I can't believe they won at the end 😂
becuz heroic coach cheain.... idc if refrezh goood or whatever if hey have cheater in team they are shits
@@hojingzun9512 bro at the very least, don't make liquid akin to a sore loser by calling cheats when they lose lol. Give respect where respect is due
@@pandaprince5869 yeah this guys giving a bad name to liquid fans. I respect refrezh and his clutch, even if it ruined my day.
i skipped over dude i cant-
Always here to watch liquid lose to astralis and break my heart, every single tournment
They won't be able tp face astralis this major kek
lol they still found a way to lose even when they don't have device anymore, and I think elige has said multuple times before that he is a hard awper to play against
Astralis is a husk of their former team.
@SH1N!GaMi this aged well lol
@Aoi Shi nah device deserves his fifth lol
I didn't click this to be reminded of the 5v1 choke, I should've expected it, but it hurts to see it again.
that was fucking heartbreaking :(
You didn't even mention that when Astralis beat them it was by picking their own map, beating Liquid on their own playground of Vertigo... It was reaaaally sick... I remember at that time I was like "What did you do Astralis? Oh nooo they threw"
It's an NA yt channel bruh, ofc they will not view it.
Now why would a NA yt channel show themselves getting b-fkd
You know looking in hindsight, i am so happy that TL atleast have that GRAND SLAM record time, just a small touch of CS history is gonna be with them forever..!! Damn it almost feels like yesterday..!!
You better follow this up with something about CPH Flames. They were mostly unknowns pulling a 3-0 in the Challengers stage.
I fear it will stop there for them, bc they were unkown teams underestimated them and lost, now everyone sees them as a big opponent bc they pullad a 3-0 against great teames, im scared they will pull a 0-3 next
They have given me so many points in strafe
calm down its the challengers stage
People who watched the RMR event knew what they were capable of. I even had em in my pickems obv not for 3-0 but still. I believe they can make the Champions stage.
Unknown? Copenhagen flames are all players that got benched from tier 1 teams and want revenge.
Honestly, as an astralis fan, I feel bad for team liquid. They have been screwed many times in the past, and since astralis is now out of form, I’m rooting for either them or Navi to win the major
Winning this major for team liquid is far fetched but maybe next major...Fallen might be the answer.
As for NaVi i too hope they dont choke and win cuz they are worthy
@@neilnair5388 yeah, I just prefer liquid winning over any other team besides navi. Gambit aren’t experienced enough, 80% of their roster never even played at a major before. Heroic has too much controversy and it’s just kinda weird, although I like refrezh. Nip I just don’t want to win kinda just to make sure dev1ce doesn’t win a major without astralis, bc I really don’t think I can handle seeing that, even tho I know why he left. G2 never personally been a fan of their playstyle, and I have no real interest in seeing toxic ass niko win a major. Faze and vitality I wouldn’t mind either of them winning, but I think vitality just aren’t quite ready and I think faze is a little shaky, but I wouldn’t mind seeing karrigan finally get his major title.
They arent out of shape just yet. Their just adjusting on device leaving. We know they will be back soon
@@Skepside obviously they will figure out a way to bounce back, but as of right now they are lacking top form we know they are capable of. Close and even losing matches against tier 2 and 3 teams is not the astralis most of us have been used to the last 3-4 years
@@TransparentEclipse Saame , Liquid and Navi have choked enough over the years they deserve it. No Coach Bug No win for heroic Faze has shown that they can perform well on Lan
This makes more sense now as LIQUID CHOKE AGAIN
another video only to show the coldzera and s1mple clips :)
is it even a “the score esports” video if they don’t feature those clips?

watching that heroic 1v5 was insane and didnt feel real, mans literally said fk it and clutched
No matter how much liquid choke I'll always be with them, supporting over bullying we already have enough shit holes, but liquid without twistzzz seems really odd but have to accept it sadly wish he stayed

Lmao they just choked 15-11 and got OT eliminated bot liquid stewie2shit
G2 laughing their asses off
It’s come to the point, where I need skip the Cold-jumpshots and S1mple 2k, because they annoy me more than they impress me. Thanks Score :D
Legit I do not want to see that play again and it‘s getting to the point where it‘s just lazy from the score…
Stewies evolved a lot as a player. Really think they can do good in PGL. I am excited to watch thats for sure.
aagreee
Saturdays gonna be kit
Surprise surprise...
Well
Aged like milk , they out now :P
Seems like to every trophy that NA have, Stewie was there when it was achieved. Sure TL is beating up tier 2 and 3 teams but we're still hoping that they can beat the current era wherein NAVI, Gambit, and Heroic are the top dogs
Don't put Onliners on the same sentence as Navi and Gambit
As a liquid fan, I have seen the choking since 2018
My heart when liquid choke, -------------------------
You have no idea how much it hurts to watch that coldzera play everytime.
In the Astralis era, Liquid was the only team i belived could be close to their level. Sad to see that a team this good hasn't won the trophies they deserve.
For me the most funniest liquid choke was in 2016 after columbus at esl pro league group stage with koosta instead of s1mple vs nip with pyth and if i remember right in dust2 liquid was on match point at like 15-3 and anders asked moses are they gonna lose this game and moses just said why are you doing this to me or something :D
And most enjoyable choke was 15-8 in inferno kato 19 vs ence in quarter finals :)
how the hell do u even blow a 15-3 lead wtf
but then again i remember ence blowing a 15-1 lead on the same map vs VP on EPL S13, so i guess its possible
@@shady801 idk man liquid has been a different breed sometimes on lan. And yeah that ence vs vp was bad, but it was online compared to the 2 i mentioned were at lan and other was liquid being major favorites alongside astalis in kato19. Sorry i have never cared for online games and never will(online 16-0s are a waste to look into as well)
I mean:
-Astralis is at it's weakest Point,
-VP is basically inconsistent
-ENCE is no more
-Mousesport worried more about their Logo
-Faze is still looking for identity
-G2 is a choking prone team
-Furia is keep changing Rosters
-MIBR is basically Reborn
Their True Road Block is Vitality, Na'Vi and NiP, if they can't go to the final.... they're seriously Cursed, and they need to change their Team name into Cloud 9 or something
Faze is the dark horse of this tournament, they are looking solid after the group stage but i do agree with everyone else
How about cloud 10?
Liquid's CSGO Team isn't the only cursed thing, there League team is just as cursed, cursed with 4's
What does that mean?
@@kingftw4798 TL in League is historically cursed with the number four both positively and negatively.
It started back with the org called Team Cursed (an unfortunate name for the org that eventually merged with Liquid) and how Cursed struggled to ever make it higher than fourth place in any tounament/split. Although the placing fourth meme basically died the split right after they merged into TL, the number four still follows them around in a lot of the orgs downfalls and achievements.
In one of their worst splits they had a 4-14 w/l ratio and just barely avoided relegations with the help of doublelift in like 2016/2017. They're the fourth team to win the NA LCS and won four titles in a row. Worlds this year is the fourth year TL has made it to the event in a row, fourth year they failed to make it out of groups and they would've made it out of groups if they had just one more win (There was a 4 way 3-3 Tiebreaker that could've been avoided if they just won 4 games). Speaking of 3-3 this is also the fourth year at worlds TL ended 3-3 in a row.
Of course what I just listed isn't the only things related to four, they're just what I personally find most notable and relevant atm (Especially the worlds part which I'm surprised not as much people are talking about), but you can search it up to find a bit more about it.
Man I miss lounge era cs... I watched most of these games live and I was just a teenager gambling with my friends but its crazy how much of an impact they had in hindsight. That era spoiled me with how surgical everything has gotten, I wish I knew how good we all had it.
That refresh play broke there back ... anyone would crack after being one player away from winning
Aah yes gimme that coldzera clip.
The score's video are like a history class or the news for esports
Got my alarm set for tomorrow mornings early match. Let’s go TL!
11:42 his monitor arrangement speaks alot about him AHHAHAHHA
I love how Fallen is just woven into TLs cs history
I think they let their guard off everytime they take the lead, That feeling of relief just make them lose.
This thumbnail is absolutely perfect
Making a video about Liquid to include both the s1mple drop and the coldzera jump awp … very smart move theScore, very smart!
Great vid just wished you mentioned how long Liquid struggled against Astralis, being second to them for much of 2018 and always losing to them at every event they had to play each other.
finally another vid with the coldzera jumping op clip
Man as a Liquid fan, I still have hopes they will win. They is just something they keep messing up. They have to find out what it is. We need more championships
I miss stage lans so much. I cant wait for this major playoffs stage. And man i hope liquid can make it.
Just came back to this after their loss to Faze today. The curse still lives on
Liquid forgot the cardinal rule of fight for the throne.
"IF YOU AIM AT THE KING. DONT MISS."
Despite all that, They should really hire a better sports psychologist.
Man thats an iconic quote don't butcher it XD "You come at the king, you best not miss."
@@ShardulChuri thank you for correcting. I have most heard that way hence I used it that way.
Thanks for putting cold jumping and S1mple shot for the 1100th time. Thanks again Thescore.
Poor timing. Stewie about to take off
8:46 They have done what no one might ever do again, Intel Grand Slam
Some mega combo story of would be nice as these rarely show the full picture (I know it's not the point). Everyone knows of the Astralis era which affected everyone else but what I would like to see is all the inside stories but in a more organised and chronological way where it's not just "oh they played like this for the next 5 years and here's all of those years in a 10min video from this teams pov" but like maybe a year or even just half a year per episode where you'd actually get a deep dive into the whole complexity of the history of csgo as an esport
Y'all should have a video on BDS from Rainbow Six Siege
Why didn't they mention Liquid's choke against Ence at Kato 19 where they went 15-11 then 16-19 on Inferno?
BLAST World Finals 2022 and here we are again...
I just read the title and new you were talking about TL. Man it's rough being a Liquid Fan.
Liquid Rainbow Six are ALSO under the same curse lmao.
I swear thescore is just coming up with video ideas by figuring out a way to fit cold's awp play into it somehow
Nice timing
theScore esports purposely made a video about liquid so they could insert cold's jumping awp clip
This video in one line :
"They looked impossible but were stopped.(Team liquid moto)
There it is, the coldzera shot is in again
The reason why we feel that team Liquid is "cursed" is because there are the only good team atm from NA. Teams like Na'Vi, Gambit, Astralis, G2 all had heartbreaking losses and chokes, but because there are so many good teams from their region it doesn't register as badly. They don't carry the pride of their entire region on their back, like Liquid does.
You NA guy's forget about the fact that now you have a brazilian player, meaning that now you guy's also have the brazilian chearing for Team Liquid, and with this, come's the "Zika Gaulesa" (Gaules Jinx)
Pain que o diga
And simple at one point which got a few europeans in
I already know Dimitri was begging to make this vid
That refresh 1v5 should never have happened 😔
I think stew's gotta play an IGL role to see if he improves better.
When I was there live when the jumping AWP play occurred :(
the Curse of Liquid has a name, Astralis. They lost over 30 games to astralis while winning 3
sheesh
See, if you actually know TL, you know this goes WAY deeper then CSGO. It started way back when they were called Team Curse.
Could do a iceberg video about them tbh lol

Ironic how luminosity only cameback on mirage because they stopped playing what they trained for and started doing the opposite (according to fallen)
ngl... even though sometimes i wish TL can win another tournament just like their glory days during their insane run, honestly chokequid always appears to destroy their hopes and dreams
me: there is not such a thing as a curse.
me, after seeing this video: okay, I'll acknowledge there is a curse there is no way this can happen several times over.
Simple, what is that simple, you cant be serious, you cant do that
i just loved the part where lg/sk showed up, i'm a big fan, those were good times.
I'm surprised you didn't talk about how they were always the bridesmaid of 2018 to Astralis over and over
watching this is torture bruv
12:37 How is all their hardware connected to the PCs?! I like this setup, but I don't understand how it works.. lol

it’s not an esports csgo game video without a coldzera peek or olaf boost
They're not cursed, they're just cocky and overconfident.
That's why they choke, they can't keep a cool head when they need to.

I'm gonna be really disappointed if this doesn't contain the 1v5 choke against Heroic.
crazy to think they might be trading off elige
Been a Team Liquid fan since 2015 and i dont think ill ever get off the boat.!!
at which temperature does team liquid become solid?
is this some metaphorical question with some hidden meaning or something or literal?
Freezing, or solidification, is a phase transition in which a liquid turns into a solid when its temperature is lowered to or below its freezing point. All known liquids, except helium, freeze when the temperature is low enough. (Liquid helium remains a liquid at atmospheric pressure even at absolute zero, and can be solidified only under higher pressure so basically they will never be solid ☹️
@@JustAPokemonCommentingOnVideos i meant like, most liquids become solid at a certain temperature, but when does team liquid become solid, as in a solid team
I hope Fallen can lead them back to winning this next major, even though They are DEFINETLY not the favorites
Please let dimitri do all csgo theme vids!
No offense but he does these csgo vids so much better than anyone else from the score esports
This video is so poorly made like where is the whole part when they get to the iem global challenge and the part after where twistz leaves and the parts of the online era in which they looked to be getting form back when they first brought in fallen
@AutoSemiMatic but all of that is valuable to the team history
Man, I just want to see them play in the grand finals of the major. Win or lose.
Sorry but 1 NA team already had 1 fluke run at a major no need for another when better team from EU or CIS would deserve it more
This videos title should be - The Curser : coldzera
So liquid vid let's just put the coldzera clip every time
