Thanks for watching! When I intercalated we had to choose between five different topics, I chose cardiovascular, respiratory and renal medicine. The other options were things like infection and immunity and molecular medicine. It's changed slightly now so students get more choice. Hope this helps!
I got not so great such 8 in chem and maths 7-physics biology and literature 5-psychology citizenship geography English language (planning to retake) idk with this grade can I or would I stand a chance if I get stellar a level and UCAT would I ? Also I do 4 subjects for a-level
why is it good to do maths a level for medicine? like how does it help? next year, i want to study chem, bio and physics but my careers advisor told me about maths too. Also, i want to do an epq and further then apply to cambridge for medicine. What do you think?
@FilipVasil-c7y Hello! So there's a lot of maths (particularly statistics) in medical research, so when you read academic papers (which medics do a lot of) then it helps to have at least a basic knowledge of maths to help your understanding. I don't think you really need it, but A level maths does help you when you come to learn stats in medical school. Your subjects sound good 👍 Hope this helps!
Would you say biology, chemistry and psychology for a level would be good for applying to medicine? Not specifically for applying to Oxford though. Also, thank you for this video it's super helpful!
You're welcome, thanks for watching! Yes, those sound like good options for subjects. Bio and chemistry are core, and you can definitely put your psychology A Level to good use!
nice video! do u think realistically i should apply to oxford/cambridge if i have x8 Grade 9s and x3 Grade 8s. Doing bio, chem, maths and hopefully getting A*AA - A*A*A*, if somehow i get A*A*A* like should i apply and which one? or is it too competitive as im not doing EPQ or four a levels? thxxx!!

Thank you very much, I wanna go to Cambridge so hard.
You can do it!
