all i'm saying is I hate when any franchise gives up their core identity in order to stay relevant. I like and engage with Modern fortnite, but can we even call it "Fortnite" anymore? Same feelings with other IPs like Star Wars, Forza Horizon, etc.
The reason why chapter 2 was so good is because they managed to make so much changes and keep everyone happy, they kept a cartoony art style, they didn’t change the weapons and make the game unrecognizable, they made so many cool additions like upgrade benches, you could upgrade weapons rarity and it wouldn’t be some confusing mods like nowadays, they made some changes like adding mythics but they weren’t just scattered around the map and completely broken and they introduced so many mechanics and tested out some new stuff that would still keep the game simple and fun and personally I think it appealed both new players and ogs. As an og myself I really loved chapter 2, chapter 2-4 was peak for me imo.

@@Jennah-y4t exactly, it’s the prime of fortnite imo, chapter 1 was more nostalgic but just the things you could do in those 3 seasons, so much fun versatile mechanics, I can’t wait to go back to it in november
I've always been a bigger fan of modern fortnite as opposed to early simply because of mainly the quality of life changes and new mechanics as well as the newer maps although the loot pool was better in the OG days, the locker UI was better and it wasn't over run with AIs in pubs (epic please take them out after you hit a certain account level or something) I do have fun in both versions of the game overall and to me fortnite will always be fortnite change is ultimately inevitable so you cant really do anything other than hope that the change will bring a smoother gameplay experience i do hope that chapter 2 coming back will offer the same experience that it did at that time though
As someone who’s still very good at the game and have no problem dealing with quote on quote “sweats”, fortnite was way better back in 2018 it’s not even close the joy you get from winning, playing with friends, making jokes, etc is unmatched, I hate that I have to “sweat” on this game now but whatever it happened I just improved and adapted throughout the years.
Fortnite’s biggest enemy is itself and how they hate doing old things, the game should change but it feels like often fortnite will change things for literally no reason and will go as far as to not add old items regardless of how loved or iconic it is
The biggest thing is they could bring it all back. Old graphics, guns, map, locations, sounds, skins, no manteling or cars, none of the over the top items AND it still WOULD NOT be old fortnite. Plain period, there is no way to go back. A. Is it nostalgic to think bout, yes however if you were to play it like it was you likely won’t get that same love for it again B. The way you & everyone else played changed. It got better, and more advanced. If you go back you’d maybe consider it old & clunky. Even if you don’t mind, others will. People have gotten better. The biggest part of the game is a lot of us were new and just enjoying it back then. Outside a few streamers no one took the game too seriously like so many do now
Take chapter 2. Salty, pleasant, retail (neighborhoods) were distinct POl's. It felt like people actually lived there. All of labs, neighborhoods, etc. have the same fancy, brick buildings. There’s no variety in the poi’s themes or infrastructure. I hate the ch5 map
What Fortnite needs to do next chapter is to strike a really nice balance between the old and the new such as bringing back older weapons and items, they also should bring back the older pre chapter 2 models and sounds for those particular guns as well while still keeping certain game mechanics such as sliding, swimming, mantling, and all that stuff with them of course adding new weapons to the loot pool every season. They also should have a mix of older locations from chapter 1 and newer locations on an completely different map like they did back in chapters 2 and 3, it would make a lot of the playerbase whether they're OG or not really happy to play the game and it would make the game more exciting again
Take chapter 2. Salty, pleasant, retail (neighborhoods) were distinct POl's. It felt like people actually lived there. honestly, I think if Fortnite had its old artstyle and graphics back, it would make a huge difference in the vibe. I don't know if I'm the only one who thinks Fortnite is trying too hard to be almost realistic nowadays when it just doesn't work since the game is so cartoony.
A good game has the balance of simple and complex. It’s simple enough where it’s welcoming to pick up for the first time and complex where it’s extended mechanics are deep and complex. That was old Fortnite, new Fortnite from my perspective (quit as soon as chapter 2 started) looks so complex in its foundation that it feels daunting to get into, along with all the bs items that could kill me with one hit out of nowhere and me not having a clue what they are how they work and how’d they even kill me. Looking back at that fight without research I would never figure out what killed me, pretty much nothing like this with old Fortnite. The game is is too unbalanced, has too much bs, is too needlessly complicated and half the people you kill is AI; there is nothing more demoralising seeing yourself kill AI when the game tries to convince you it’s real players.
Take chapter 2. Salty, pleasant, retail (neighborhoods) were distinct POl's. It felt like people actually lived there. And then you had labs (the agency, the yacht, the rig, etc.) that were distinctly unique from the neighborhoods AND each other. Now look at chapter 5. All of labs, neighborhoods, etc. have the same fancy, brick buildings. There’s no variety in the poi’s themes or infrastructure. I hate the ch5 map
Back then Fortnite was simpler. With simple guns and weapons. However today we have augments, medallions, fancy weapons and what not. Even the healing items gve you speed boost, make you jump higher etc. Remember there was a time when it was actually a big deal to get a purple weapon? Yeah. Today getting a mythic weapon isnt a big deal and infact a lot of the times we dont even take the mythic ones 🤡💀
Man im not even being nostalgic here i want the game to go back to like chapter 2 and 4 because of how ass the projectile bullets are i just want the hitscan weapons back, these do NOT go well on fortnite the only weapons that should be projectile are obviously snipers and rockets. Honest to god they just made the game kinda of unenjoyable with the projectile bullets

all i'm saying is I hate when any franchise gives up their core identity in order to stay relevant. I like and engage with Modern fortnite, but can we even call it "Fortnite" anymore? Same feelings with other IPs like Star Wars, Forza Horizon, etc.
Actually i remember when i started to go moisty, it was because its tree’s gave a lot of wood. Sadly it wasn’t long before they got rid of it lol
chapter 1 season 5 was the greatest video game of ALL TIME.
Love the thumbnail!
Hey look a Scott the woz reference 17:25!!!!!
Ik this is a vid on what’s better modern or og but I just wanted to share my opinion on why I liked chapter 2 so much, chapter 1 was more nostalgic and simple but chapter 2 was more fun
I rlly loved chapter 2 season 2,3,4. The color of the map was simply beautiful
@@Jennah-y4t exactly, it’s the prime of fortnite imo, chapter 1 was more nostalgic but just the things you could do in those 3 seasons, so much fun versatile mechanics, I can’t wait to go back to it in november
Chapter 2 is my favorite
2018 seasons were peak but also every other season that came after
Beautiful thumbnail art
"Unfourtunately the CIA found out and I died of natural causes" 😂😂
"cool spring breeze" buddy June 23rd is in the SUMMER lmao I open up the window and the humidity smacks me right in the face LMAOOO
Some things were better than they are now but they did improve other things over time
I've always been a bigger fan of modern fortnite as opposed to early simply because of mainly the quality of life changes and new mechanics as well as the newer maps
although the loot pool was better in the OG days, the locker UI was better and it wasn't over run with AIs in pubs (epic please take them out after you hit a certain account level or something) I do have fun in both versions of the game overall and to me fortnite will always be fortnite
change is ultimately inevitable so you cant really do anything other than hope that the change will bring a smoother gameplay experience i do hope that chapter 2 coming back will offer the same experience that it did at that time though
Jakus uploaded a banger on ezfn tell everyone you know 🗣🔥
Without watching the Video, What kind of question is that? Of course 2018 Fortnite was better. Can‘t even describe how much better it was. 100x better
Fortnite now a days is so diffrent every time I look at it I feel like there something off and it isn’t right.
Oh no! The thing I like can’t stay the same forever?! How could this be?!
Fortnite’s biggest enemy is itself and how they hate doing old things, the game should change but it feels like often fortnite will change things for literally no reason and will go as far as to not add old items regardless of how loved or iconic it is
I really like the thumbnail, it's really cute :D
I want to know who made it!
the wonderful PepperoniRay on twitter made the art!
@@jakusidk thank you, i appreciate it
The biggest thing is they could bring it all back. Old graphics, guns, map, locations, sounds, skins, no manteling or cars, none of the over the top items AND it still WOULD NOT be old fortnite. Plain period, there is no way to go back.
A. Is it nostalgic to think bout, yes however if you were to play it like it was you likely won’t get that same love for it again
I hate the ch5 map
now in the avenger update you can just become a flying bug thats really hard to hit

Nah, I think Chapter 4’s style was the best all around. They should’ve built off of that instead of deviating.
Dont hurt me with a thumbnail like that, I'm still coping for Brilliant Bomber ;-;
Sunday June 23rd 2018 was my 12-13th birthday lol, can't remember how old I was if it was 12 or 13
honestly, I think if Fortnite had its old artstyle and graphics back, it would make a huge difference in the vibe.
I wish I played the older chapters and season of Fortnite, but I was stubborn and thought Fortnite just sucked
You can still kinda play it. Go to creative mode and look for Rewind Royale, it's a very faithful recreation, the best one so far.

2018 was peak gaming in general
definitly i hate the gamebreaking items they been adding recently
Back then Fortnite was simpler. With simple guns and weapons. However today we have augments, medallions, fancy weapons and what not. Even the healing items gve you speed boost, make you jump higher etc.
Remember there was a time when it was actually a big deal to get a purple weapon? Yeah. Today getting a mythic weapon isnt a big deal and infact a lot of the times we dont even take the mythic ones 🤡💀
I wish i could play these private servers
Man im not even being nostalgic here i want the game to go back to like chapter 2 and 4 because of how ass the projectile bullets are i just want the hitscan weapons back, these do NOT go well on fortnite the only weapons that should be projectile are obviously snipers and rockets. Honest to god they just made the game kinda of unenjoyable with the projectile bullets
Oh hell yeah! W sponsor dude!
My honesty
I loved all seasons
Goes back to season 7, dosnt bother going to poler-frosty or happy 💀 or even the x-4 stormwing
Who els misses the old jakus
Not comparable imo fortnite will never be like how it was back then
Current Fortnite is by no means a bad game. I still play it and find it enjoyable half the time. But there’s no beating peak Fortnite
banger as always jak 🔥🔥but hop off moisty
chapter 2 season 2-5 was peak fortnite
I disagree considering I played then
4:26 same fr
Fortnite isn't even fortnite because "fortnite" (originally STW) doesn't get updates that are life filled
Where can I find those private servers? Are you allowed to share that? I wanna play Chapter 3 again
