Thank you for taking your time to clearly explain the subtle differences between the two headphones. Honestly one of the best comparison reviews I’ve seen in a while! 👊🏿💯
Thank you for the review! I’m so glad I watched this before purchasing. Both had an excellent sale on Amazon with prime day deals and I almost got the tune but what really sold me was how you showed the size difference between the memory foam over ear cushions. I have quite large stretched ear gages and I think the larger size of the Lives are going to be much more comfortable for me. Went with the Lives and I’m so excited.
Rtings "neutral sound" comparison of the two has some really low scores for the Live 770NC. I'm liking the Live overall but I wonder what the low scores mean.
Is tune 770 NC sweatproof and the bluetooth 5.4 is already out but the tune 770 NC is only bluetooth 5.4, it has been nearly 10 months since it has been launched will it be a good time to buy it now?
Very good review. Very well detailed. I agree with almost everything you've said, except the sound of these two. You almost lose yourself in trying to justify the higher price tag of the Live, when it can be clearly seen that you yourself prefer the sound of the Tune. I have personally demo'd both at Best Buy and will be going today to pick up the Tunes. They sound so much more better than the Live. The Live has a very dark muddy soundscape with very poor stereo separation. The reason the Tune sounds so detailed is because of the good stereo imaging it has, especially at this price point and that's something, I feel, you missed out on. The bass on the Tune is pretty adequate too, infact, just the right amount to keep the energy up there. You want more low end, the app is there for that, go nuts on the bass. But theres only so much mud you can clear off from the Lives and thats a big no if im going to be paying more. For the most part, honest review, but we'd appreciate it not losing yourself in trying to justify something like the Live's price tag when its clearly not worth it in the sound department. There are far better headphones in that price section, when compared to the Live. We understand the devices were probably sponsored, judging from your individual reviews of them, but stay honest man! Hey! Great review by the way. I’m deciding between jbl live 660 nc and jbl tune 770 nc. Which one would you recommend? My preference is it needs to be good for studying and watching shows
I bought the tunes yesterday to use while cutting grass i used them all day today and I'm very impressed with the noise cancelation i didn't even have to turn the music up to hear it
Thanks for the breakdown, very helpful! Would you recommend these for the gym? I switched to a better gym that is unfortunately VERY loud with music I hate, ha ha. I need over ear headphones instead of my shocks and was leaning towards the Live.
The Live is the louder of the two, but blasting them to over compensate for the gyms noise isn't exactly recommended if you want to preserve your hearing.
@@PaulsPOV thank you! I was hoping the noise cancelling feature would drown out the need to turn them up loud? Anything closed would be better than the bone conductors I use competing with the gym cacophony I think! :D
The ANC will only target droning noises, not music being blasted at 90+ dB. I don't know why this has become norm across all gyms. Like they're all about going there for physical fitness but ,"let me help you lose your hearing while you get fit!"
Thanks for the review. I don't have an iPhone. Is it still a good idea to buy these headphones? Can I get high performance from the headphones without controlling the features from the phone (especially for noise cancellation)
The performance of them doesn't change with iOS or Android devices. If you want further control from these devices, you'll need to download the JBL Headphones App. The Live does have quite a bit more features than the Tune version.
My review for JBL TUNE 770NC Comfort-no issues, fits well. Sound quality -satisfied, natural. but i miss HI RES,LDAC. but u will you get used with these. Battery -beast ANC-good The main issue is NOT LOUD ENOUGH my gym music sound dominates my headphone max volume. For home ,outside no issues at all Only for gym it sucks
After researching so much on this topic I am so glad I landed on this video. Wow , you have to have landed on this video. Can you please tell how Spatial Audio makes a difference between the two.. it looks like the tune does not have it correct ?
Spatial audio is usually just a play on tuning, so it gives a sense of being wider and more expansive in different modes. I find it to be more of a gimmick and prefer the good old stereo listening from earphones and headphones, especially for music. Spatial audio can be fun for games and movies though. The Tune doesn't have Spatial audio support.
I have been an owner of JBL Tune 770 NC for more than a year. I think the headphones are decent for their price and have crispy highs and a punchy base. However, the highs are kind of "cheap" sounding. I don't know how to put this right, but after I got my hands on Sony Inzone buds, I could definitely feel the cheapness of the treble quality on the 770 NC. The EQ also has kind of really deep inverted V shape which worsens the feeling of fullness of the audio. The audio doesn't sound full and bright. Now, I don't find any joy in listening to music with the 770 NC and prefer the Sony Inzone buds instead. Also, Noise Cancellation (ANC) is horrible on 770 NC. But one thing I must say is that the 770 NC has a really wide soundstage. Sound separation is also great. That are some great advantages of having JBL 770 NC headphones.

@@PaulsPOV I watch it but I am still confused I want your opinion on this I am more leaning towards oppo enco air 3 pro but the only thing that's bothers me is battery please reply
There's a small difference in sound between the realme and oppo on a sound front. If you're very particular about having more detail in your audio, the oppo makes sense to go for. If not, go for the realme.
Check and see if your volume is capped to the 85dB mark, put it off of it is. Another thing you can do is reduce volume completely from your phone, then press the volume down button from the headphones....then increase from the headphones and see if it helps. If not, a visit to the JBL customer care office should give you better clarity.

Which one would be better for a person, who listen to various music genres like symphonic metal, rock, pop with electronic elements, hip hop, like to hear clear details and vocals in music layers?
The Tune has more of a recess in the upper and mid low frequencies, so it tends to carry more clarity. I prefer it for better detail. But if you tweak the Lives EQ it can sound just as clean. The Live performs better with Hi-Res audio on cable if you still use it. If you don't use Hi-Res audio, the Tune is just right for what you've mentioned.
