I've just come across your review.
I'm so pleased to find someone else who enjoyed (if that's the right description) this book. I found it an incredibly emotional story.
I run a reading group of 15 members & I was the only person to read this month's choice.
The majority didn't make it passed the first couple of pages which I felt was a real shame.
I read the whole book in one sitting & couldn't put it down!

Thanks for the review! I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I finally got round to reading this book recently and I was not at all prepared for the prose style! I found it really difficult at first but I'm so glad I stuck with it because I ended up loving it, even though it was a difficult and hard-hitting read. Glad you liked it as well :)

Anybody who likes the sound of this novel but is worried about the writing style should try the audio version. I'm not a huge reader but after seeing a shortened stage adaption of this novel I felt compelled to read it. The text in the book scared me so I opted for the audio-book version which is read by the author herself and I have to say its a very good listen! Really helps to understand how it should be read. Fantastic unique novel. I recommend it.

Fantastic review! I've had this on my "must read" list for a long time because it has all of the elements I normally love piled into one book. Thanks for reminding me to bump it up the list ;)

I'm a big fan of Jenny Boully's "The Body: An Essay" and what you're saying about the narrative makes me very excited to pick this up. Thank you!

I'm reading it now for a contemporary fiction course. It's lovely to hear the author read it. It definitely works well as an oral reading. I like to read it normally too, however, I'm fond of stream of consciousness style literature. Mrs. Dalloway and The Dharma Bums, in particular.. Great review, thanks.

I've been avoiding this book for the moment. It doesn't really appeal to me.

If it doesn't appeal then I would probs give it a miss - you definitely have to be in the mood for it!
