Absolutely make the palazzo pants in the stripes. There are so many colours you could make tops to or if you have enough fabric it could be a faux jumpsuit.
On my calendar. Can’t wait. You have done your job of creating excitement for sure. I hope Italy is a good rest for you, although when I was there, no sleep, too much to see. Was exhilarating and the food delightful.
Awesome fabric. Those colors are just beautiful. I’m going to enjoy watching those upcoming videos. I was on a pretty good roll with sewing a top but I’ve been sidelined with hip & thigh pain. So just resting a few days & hopefully next week I can get back in the swing of things.
Really beautiful colors that definitely go with your skin color and hair color. I love bright bold colors too. Especially since spring and summer are soon to be here. I agree that bright (not neon) colors do make a you feel good and and happy. Can't wait to see what you make from these fabrics.😊
The wrap shirt is going to be perfect in the aqua daisy print. And maybe consider a caftan (with hoodie) in anyone of the stripe fabrics for your trip to Italy when you are relaxing.
@@TomKatStitchery Ever heard of Soft Surroundings a higher end ready to wear online? Their most recent catalog has lots of different caftans to look at which appears to be a surprising fashion return, especially in tops & not necessarily the longer caftans. And I bet with your talent you could hack or draft a pattern very similar. Have fun on your trip...it sounds exciting.
Oh, Whitney, I adore you, your channel, your brand…. It’s evolving and really coming together and I’m so excited for you and for your subscribers! Even though you provide us with the ever popular capsule planners, sew the looks, and other episodes on a regular basis, there is never anything humdrum going on here! Always fresh, always exciting, and always informative. Your birthday fabric haul is spectacular and I honestly can’t wait to see it made up! (P.S. Happy Belated Birthday ❤!) Loved this morning’s Love Notions Feature Friday episode featuring the Vivace! I made it up as a dress last summer in a rayon challis and I loved it! Very figure flattering!
I guess you could always add a ruffle or two to the hem to hand length, since you have the fabric. But!, were the short dress with leggings and go exercise! Walking is a great mind cleanser.
I’m going to Rome in October. I’m sure you have researched this but the churches/cathedrals/chapels all require covered shoulders and knees. No head covering required.
Do you know what would be so cute for the first striped fabric, Fabric Emporium, Vacation Vibes, Palazzo pants, and The low-key Cami 🤩. I’m so jealous, you’re trip to Rome sounds amazing.
If you made a pair of pants with the print fabric, when worn together, they’d look like a jumpsuit. Since they are your colors, of course all the tops would match.
That first stripe you showed looks fabulous with your colouring. I love Nani Iro fabrics; I have some cotton gauze to make a summer shirt very soon. I've bought a lot of fabric recently, now I have to sew and be good. Loving your plans
Sorry you are feeling the crunch of life. I does get better, though it can really take a toll. I remember getting incredibly busy and I handled it, but I did notice more mistakes here and there, little things would fall though the cracks.
Nice fabric haul.. I can totally see the narrow stripe as palazzo pants.. they would be nice and cool to wear in Italy.. and the wider strip would look great as a matching top and shirt.. then you could wear them as separates too while your traveling 😊... a steamer is so great when your traveling.. I use to travel for work and needed to steam suit jackets and the like.. look for a decent quality one that doesn't spit out water while your steaming or has the water running down your arm😕
I’m looking forward to the tutorial on Sunday. I emailed you this week about this issue and seeing it in action will give me confidence when I go to alter my jeans!
I love your fabric choices from StyleMaker, especially the Greenish/teal, white daisy print. All of them will look really nice on you and I am excited to see what you will be wearing at the wedding in Italy. How is your mom doing, my prayers are with you and your family that she is doing better. Take care, God Bless and happy sewing. PS - I am so excited to see your big announcements!
I really like how your shirt fits the shoulders and the pleat looks more like a feature. All of the fabrics you chose look great. It’s always a good sign that when you hold the fabric against your face, the focus changes from only seeing the fabric to only seeing your face. All those colors really brightened your skin and eyes. The green sweatshirt fabric is so rich and elegant looking. For some reason I am picturing a statement zipper with that fabric
Hi Whitney, I thought you made the tunic instead of the dress when I saw how short it is.😀. I also love StyleMaker and your birthday selections are awesome. I can’t wait to see what you are deciding to make with these gorgeous fabrics. I am excited to find out your big news on Monday/Tuesday.
Nice fabric haul for your birthday! I haven’t made anything yet with my Nani Iro fabric yet…. I need to perfect a pattern before cutting into it! I was going to purchase the love notions pattern…I already purchased it but haven’t printed it yet. 🙄. Guess I need to do more sewing! Can’t wait to hear what’s happening on Tuesday. 😮. Have a great weekend.
Love all of your fabrics. I could kick myself in the fanny for not taking advantage of the birthday discount in February, but I couldn't make up my mind what I wanted.😢
I really liked the fit on the knit top, much better than I liked the photos on the Love Notions website. I was wondering if you intentionally sized down...I guess Adobe did it for you!
Beautiful birthday fabrics Whitney! I was wondering how you named your channel TomKat Stitchery? Maybe it’s a secret and that’s fine too. Thank you for all the hard work you put in to your channel ❤️
Pretty fabrics. I’m shy to try stripes can’t wait to see how they work out for you. I made the Vivace last year, but gave it away. I thought it looked like scrubs🥲
Have you made the Vivace dress before and the length was ok? I ask because I made one and I found it to be a little short. Like now I probably would only use it for a swim cover up. The fabrics are amazing. Such good colors and those florals! 😍 Still waiting on my birthday haul. One of the fabrics was on backorder so they are waiting to ship it all. Can't wait to see your Italy sewing plans. We can all just live vicariously through you!
This was my first time to make the Vivace. That's interesting that you found it short as well. I did shorten it 1" per all their other patterns, but maybe I should have just left it alone! I'll reprint it and not shorten it and see if that fixes the issue!
I let my birthday discount pass by, regrettably. I have NOT been good this year and decided I needed to stop buying fabric. Next year I will keep this in mind so I don’t waste it again.

I completely agree!
I love seeing this backdrop with out your sewing machine. it looks totally different! seeing your fabric was so fun, I can’t wait to see them sewn up.
I'm so glad you're enjoying the new set!
Great studio background and your sound is the best it has ever been!
Oh good! I have one more thing I'm waiting on for the sound, but I'm getting close!
Ooo, a quarter zip sweatshirt/ tunic of the olive fleece.
Ooh! That would be lovely!
Palazzo pants were my first thought when I saw that striped rayon.
Right?!
Gorgeous fabric for a gorgeous Lady. Happy Birthday!!! Those stripes are awesome, and Nani Iro! The vivace is so pretty on you xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Aww! Thank you so much!
wow... really can't wait to see those palazzo pants!
Right?! I think they're going to be amazing!
Absolutely make the palazzo pants in the stripes. There are so many colours you could make tops to or if you have enough fabric it could be a faux jumpsuit.
I love that idea!
Love the watermelon 🍉😍
Me too! Its going to make such a fun summer dress!
On my calendar. Can’t wait. You have done your job of creating excitement for sure. I hope Italy is a good rest for you, although when I was there, no sleep, too much to see. Was exhilarating and the food delightful.
I have a feeling that Italy will not be a relaxing trip 😂. You're right. There is just too much to see and do!
Love the pale green daisy fabric.
Thank you! Jenni loves it as well so we'll see who ends up with it 😂.
That Nani Iro fabric was worth the splurge; it is gorgeous, and the colors suit you so well. Congratulations on all of your new business developments!
Thank you! I think it was worth the splurge as well!
You look so cute today! Happy birthday and every un+birthday thru the year!
Aww! Thanks so much!
Terracotta print is beautiful 😍🎉
I agree!
YES! Take us to Italy with you! I can’t travel right now (chemo 😔) so will live vicariously through you.
Sure! I hope your treatments are going well! My mom just finished her last round!
@@TomKatStitchery great news for your Mom!
Lovely fabric!
Thank you!
Loving your new top! 😍
Aww! Thank you!
So much fun! Your sound was much better today. Can’t wait for the studio tour.
Oh good! I'm waiting on one more thing to come for the sound and then I think I should be there!
When I go to bed o watch you in my tablet. Happy Birthday. I love your chanel
Aww! I love to hear that!
I can see either of the striped fabrics in late 1920s / early 1930s beach pyjamas.
Ooh! That would be amazing!
Awesome fabric. Those colors are just beautiful. I’m going to enjoy watching those upcoming videos. I was on a pretty good roll with sewing a top but I’ve been sidelined with hip & thigh pain. So just resting a few days & hopefully next week I can get back in the swing of things.

Oh,yeah. Double gauze for Italy. Perfect
I thought so!
Beautiful fabric!!! When I saw the watermelon fabric I immediately saw a beautiful wrap dress or skirt.
Yes! That would be amazing!
I felt the same about my winter capsule...I just felt like something was missing.
Me too! It just didn't feel inspired and I'm not sure what was off!
You are going to have a blast doing up your Italy wardrobe!!
I really am! I'll be sewing for everyone in the family!
Great birthday haul! Such fun....love olive green... wish it was in my pallet. I have olive green eyes.
I love olive green as well, but it's not one I really wore before having my colors done. I need more of it in my wardrobe!

The colours of your top are just beautiful. Your fabrics are lovely. I hope you can find fabric in Rome I wasn’t so lucky it was a few years ago.
Thank you so much!
Love the daisy print!!
So does Jenni 😂.
Love the Colours, especially the water melons and gauze, exciting plans !

It can be hard to cut into that Nani Iro fabric, but it's so lovely to wear!
As soon as you held up the striped first fabric, I thought sleeveless, wrap front, cropped length, wide leg jumpsuit.
Ooh! I can see that as well!
How about a maxi shirt dress for one of the stripes? Slenderizing
That's exactly what I'm thinking!

I think I'm going to have to do some fabric shopping while in Rome!
Sadly no Stylemakers this year at Sew Expo this year. I will be at her fulfillment house in July so that will have to do for in person shopping.
I saw that she wasn't going to be able to do the show this year. However, I'm SUPER jealous you get to go to the actual shop in July!
