Y'kno someone like John Waters, or David Lynch, or David Cronenberg are usually characterized as "weirdos" and yet whenever they're interviewed, it's always so classy and reserved.
John waters always delivers when it comes to his interviews, but with the addition of Rosanne, it was even better. I just wish the audience appreciated how great this interview is.
I love this interview , and I love John and Roseanne. What makes this a great interview is they both feed off of one another’s psyche. Two brilliant, and creative artists of the cinema, with a great nonchalent attitude to all of the naysayers!! 🤗💞
Roseanne is kind of a bad interviewer really...but she does seem to match Waters more than most interviewers...most can't compete with him (although, he's obviously such a lovely guy most don't even try). I felt a small wave of distress come from him when Roseanne did her 'pro capital punishment' bit...even though I'm now watching this show on the internet about 15 years later
She's nuts and will never work again because she can't be trusted. Too bad because she's good when directed but she thinks she can direct, produce, write and perform which is too much and fed her ego.
I live in Brazil, I didn't know anything about the film until 2015, about Divine, the main character, he passed away many years ago, I was 2 years old, he was very young, 42 years old, he didn't take care of his own health, he was still dating a porn actor with AIDS, who also died in 1992 car accident @@backyardbanshee29
I have a friend that reminds me so much of Roseanne. Her mannerisms, her sense of humor, even that weird thing Roseanne keeps doing in this interview. You'll tell her a story or make a joke and she just awkwardly stares at you for a few seconds then reacts. 10:51
You know, the rehabilitation thing is tough. I go back and forth on it when it comes to murderers. I always ask myself how I would feel if the victim's family was me, and I'm not sure i would ever want them out, or even alive. But yes, if you take all t the emotions and compassion and place. It instead on the criminal it's easy to make a case for rehabilitation. And I'm sure some would never do crime again. That doesn't erase their murders though. Those Manson kids were kinda brainwashed as well. It gets complicated as you go to individual cases and not everything is black and white. It's an interesting discussion though.
I MISS this Roseanne, the woman we knew and loved before she lost focus and got too wrapped up in politics and conspiracy theories like so many people her age have. I still think she's a very talented woman if she'd just keep her political and conspiracy filled opinions to herself and just let that funny, open minded side shine. I do think society and the industry kinda did go a bit far with the whole witch hunt and pretty much doing a modern day burning at the stake by destroying her online. I was hoping after some time as things cooled down regarding all that, she'd one day slowly make a comeback and find a way to be forgiven but her most recent interviews where she's spewing a bunch of conspiracies said a lot and she's clearly still caught in a bad spot and I hope she can at least break out of that way of thinking for her own happiness if nothing else.
She's got legit mental issues and I give the benefit of the doubt cause ambien does make you do weird shit while you're half conscious, but she did fall down the conspiracy theory rabbit hole of crazy shit.
I think so, too. She's turning 65 this year, she's nothing like she was 45 years ago. I know the LaBiancas can never be brought back to life, but I think she deserves another chance in society - according to Waters' book, Role Models, members of the Bader Meinhoff were released - they were incarcerated after Van Houten and they've since been released. So...come on.
Leslie technically never killed anyone. She was forced to stab Rosemary Labianca in the lower back 12 times by Tex Watson AFTER she was dead. That's what you call post-mortem. Leslie was actually released from prison in 1978 because of a hung jury but was put back in because of her ties to the "family" and Charles Manson. Tex watson admitted he killed Leno and Rosemary Labianca mostly himself. Patricia Krenwinkle DID inflict a few stab wounds to Rosemary Labianca but Tex Watson finished her off. He told Patricia Krenwinkle to carve the word WAR in Leno Labiancas stomach and to write things on the wall in blood. She wrote Rise and Death to Pigs on the walls in the living room and Helter Skelter spelled "Healter Skealter" on the white Philips refrigerator in the kitchen.
Wow ... Roseanne is beloved, but she comes across as super over-medicated on this show. I hope she gets her shit together, or that she’s happy. She’s an American comic treasure.
The way he pivots to a question to diffuse the tension around the capital punishment stuff: truly a class act!
Y'kno someone like John Waters, or David Lynch, or David Cronenberg are usually characterized as "weirdos" and yet whenever they're interviewed, it's always so classy and reserved.
Yeah, they just fall outside of the norm, and media doesn’t know how to deal with people or things which are unique 🤷♂️
Brian: They mostly Chanel their weirdness into their work.
They all seem pretty self aware
Moreso interested in weird stuff than weird themselves
Cronenberg seems to be kidna reserved, but Lynch and Waters just blossom with charisma
Roseanne and Steve Buscemi as Divine and John Waters? I love it!!😏🤗🤗
John waters always delivers when it comes to his interviews, but with the addition of Rosanne, it was even better. I just wish the audience appreciated how great this interview is.
These two were so awesome together! Such great chemistry, their banter and humor, gotta love this talk beetween them
What the hell's wrong with the audience he's hilarious? I forgot Roseanne had her own talk show; ah the good 'ole days.
yeah, and they did Rorschach - Tests on TV.. that seems soooo ole too
I love this interview , and I love John and Roseanne. What makes this a great interview is they both feed off of one another’s psyche. Two brilliant, and creative artists of the cinema, with a great nonchalent attitude to all of the naysayers!! 🤗💞
Both of these people had shaped my entire adolescence and with that who I formed into as an adult. I couldn't be more grateful.
Could you imagine DIVINE guesting on "Roseanne??!"
+T James I can imagine Divine PLAYING Roseanne!
T James I can easily imagine Divine eating an alpha bitch's turd

This is fabulous! You can tell Roseanne is a huge fan of JW... love her!
He's so charming. I don't know how people find him odd.
His oddness is his usp
Serial Mom with Kathleen Turner--a great John Waters' movie!
Oh wow my two favorite folks...never knew she interviewed him
I don't think her audience appreciated John Waters.
I can't believe they found 15 seconds of Pink Flamingos to show on 90s tv.
Why this question about the movie about the 90s
@@warwarparente4213 PInk Flamingos was made in the early 1970s.
I know this, this 1998 program was already 10 years after Divino's death
@@warwarparente4213 because it's amazing that they were able to show any of that movie on 90s television - have you seen it? lol

This was great, thanks for the upload!
Thanks for uploading this. I actually taped this interview when the Roseanne show ran on Swedish tv but I have no idea of where my tape is. LOL.
I always thought John Waters is sooooo handsome!😏
2 beautiful Americans. Been loving them since the 80s!
Pecker is a great film
I think I'm in love with Rosanne... WTF! B-flicks, Japanese Gamera, Desperate Living!? I had no idea that she is so cool.
The coolest, and funniest 🤠
Right? Roseanne is super cool and sweet, how can you not?
I love john waters,i have all of his movies.
What df happened to Roseanne? Today’s Roseanne is the kind of person 90s Roseann would rip to shreds.
I find that everyone is weird to someone else , it's true - we all love different things!
damn john can really sell a movie
Luv John Waters

Lol! Sorry, not a comment
My ex-girlfriend was like that, she observed and then criticized
Love them both!
Of course, this happened. The fragile balance of the universe demands that it did.
This was a great interview
Waters is my Pasolini
Roseanne would have been perfect for Serial Mom ❤️❤️
they were just getting started. all this was just the warm-up! we need to film them together for 24 hours and film, send it to Cannes!!
It's wonderful to watch these two dish!!😉😆😆
i love you roseanne. was sad her new show went off the air. but hello, john waters? #1 forever and ever and ever.
how have these two not made a movie?
thats weird since tv seems more of a grind
Why should SHE be in HIS movies? . .. cause she happens to be overweight loudmouthed and abrasive like Divine and Edith Massey were?
*****
Marry someone who looks at you like Roseanne looks at John Waters

Legends, love em both.
"it always has a fat woman hero...or heroin"
oooooh, THAT explains divine!
I know, I know! he meant heroine, I'm just kidding!
I love them so much!
"The Freedom of Bad Taste" 😻
Pink flamingos made for $12k still blows my mind. Its not surprising when ya look at it, but it still just blows my mind. Love John Waters
He was talking about Leslie Van Houten. He's actually friends with her.
Love that man! 😻✌
Rorschach test!
I LUUUUVVVV HIM
Let me tell you something more insulting then "You have a pretty face." I have always ben told by my Mom, "You have pretty hands."
OMG maybe we're related.
In my family, I had both 'pretty hands' and 'perfect eyebrows'.

Gamera is not a bird but a turtle!
and John is right by saying that Leslie van Houten is fully rehabilitated

John hasn't cast Roseanne in any roles yet? Why? I'd love for her to do a cameo or a feature full-length!!!
Hi... Roseanne actually has a cameo appearance opposite Eric Roberts in John Waters' CECIL B. DEMENTED...As a talk show host lol!
Hi... Roseanne actually has a cameo appearance opposite Eric Roberts in John Waters' CECIL B. DEMENTED...As a talk show host lol!
John Goodwin i saw it when i came out and i totally forgot about that. i might have to re-watch! thanks for the heads up!!!
John waters is so entertaining
Not so impressive here, I'd still prefer a talk show hosted by Roseanne over Ellen any day
Uterus yasss
Rosezilla!!!!
1998 It had been 10 years at this time since Divine's death
how did he never use Rosanne for one of his films? She would have been PERFECT for one of his characters.
Roseanne very briefly appeared as herself in one of his movies - Pecker, I think.
Before Roseanne lost her damn mind down the QAnon rabbithole and still had enough self awareness to recognize ridiculousness as a positive.
😃😄😄😄😄😄😄😅😅
Her best worst interview of all time
What does it matter what you say about people?
Back when Roseanne didn't suck.
Roseanne lokked good in that orange gown in the opening !!!
Only mainstream interviwer who seems to get or even like Jhon or his work lol
Wonder what he’d think of her now 😂
I've had good luck with ample women. 👍
Roseanne looks zonked
Wow ... Roseanne is beloved, but she comes across as super over-medicated on this show. I hope she gets her shit together, or that she’s happy. She’s an American comic treasure.
Damn, back when Roseanne had a degree of critical thinking and class consciousness. Now shes just parrot of the political regime in power.
Love you hate her
the problem with Roseanne hosting a talk show is that it's painful hearing her talk.
roseanne's voice.🤮
Electricity in a bottle
stop please
Roseanne has never seen any of his films.
False.
Troll
Surprised that they’ve not made a film together. He’s the people’s pervert and she’s the domestic goddess. What a great combination.
a warthog interviewing a gazelle
Roseanne should be locked in a room and left alone !
Love them BOTH!!
