loved this, we have a very similar background, from montessori all the way to law degree and home owner, congrats on how well youve already done by 24. i used my law degree and bar qualification bptc and went into sales, now i work as an account manager at hewlett packard and its all onwards and upwards. would love to collab one day xoxo
wow do u think llb or law degree is a good option? i am not from the uk but my country offers uni of london external programs so i was considering tht but now i am kinda confused wht do u think?
This hits so close to home. I also did a law degree but took the solicitor root and I've acknowledged once I went on to do my masters and legal practice course (which I am doing now) I realised that I enjoy law, but wouldn't enjoy practicing it, with similar realisations of the competition of the legal world. This video reassured me that my degree can lead me to various of other professions and statuses. Thank you!
Your so inspirational! Can't wait for part 2 💕 You should do a video on time management and how you balanced having a job during Uni. I have been doing the same since 16, but feel like it does effect my level of work which is annoying x
Loved the video Jade❤️ I also wanted to be a barrister when I was 16 as well. Until I interned in a Magistrates Court and absolutely hated it. I now have a bachelors in computer science & business management and I work as a Sales Executive in Software Company and I love it!! cant wait for part 2!
Hey Jade! Love your videos, my face dropped when you said to wait for part two aha! :( But I graduated last summer from doing a joint honours degree in Business and Accounting from Kingston Uni (London) and i think it was my faith that enabled me to keep the momentum going for me to pursue a career in accounting. I eventually got a job as an accounts payable clerk and the company i'm working for are going to fund my study support to be a chartered accountant! So consistency and faith is the key but it is good to explore different paths because you never know where different opportunities will take you! Keep up the content and being such an inspiration!!!
Omg Jade. I haven’t even watched the video yet. But boyy am i glad you made this. I love you, your personality and your mindset and lord knows i needed this video! 😩💕
Hey Jade, Just wanted to say you are an inspiration to me! We are similar in so many ways, I am 25, from a Jamaican family and also have an obsession with interiors and looking to get on the property ladder! I also went to the same university (BCU) as you but studied Media and Communication. I am happy to say I’ve been continually working in the tv industry on some of the country’s and (USA) most popular dramas and tv programmes. It’s been hard and extremely competitive, but I’ve loved it! I’ve been subscribed to you for a while and I would just like to say - keep up the good work!!
You're a local girl - I grew up in NW too (although I'm a lil older than you lol). St Mary's always looked like the cool school when I was young! I considered transfering there, but stayed put (I went to a school in Neasden). Anyways, I love seeing a girl of Jamaican background doing so well at such a young age! Your vids are great for young people tryna find their way - I wish I had all this information when I was your age (I'm 30 now, feeling old lmao).
OMG! It was meant for me to watch this video. I got set up years ago by one of my coworkers and was carjacked. I got beat up pretty badly and an patch of hair snached out of my head. It happened while I was behind the wheel of this coworkers car that she begged me to drive over to the parking lot of the place where we both worked. Since that incident I've been terrified to drive.Seeing this video is a huge inspiration to me to get behind the wheel again! Thanks so much for your help and voice 😘
Great video Jade. I studied Marketing Communications at university and I managed to land a role in my industry a couple months after graduating. I think it boils down to passion and drive and I’ve been very fortunate to always have opportunities in my industry come my way.
Yaaay, kenyan subbie in the house, I got the marble next mugs because of you I live in kenya and had a friend ship them to me they are gorgeous , I enjoy your videos
Jade honey I really love watching and listening to you. I am a mum of a beautiful 30 year old daughter.. You asked about uni, well my daughter had that notion, but she was fed up of studying.. we discussed courses and future prospects... She achieved A levels in computer studies when at secondary.. went into her first apprenticeship at 19 in education.. several years later she works an adult education college and loving it.. Her aim is to buy her first home in a couple of years time. Can she do it? lol... she has a great focused and wants to be mortgage free by the time she is 40.. She's motivated and loves learning.. she loves and has a deep connection to bsl and passed 1, 2, 3 and last week level 4.. Luckily for her she studied at work and also does volunteering during her lunch break.. Financially she very rarely spends on expensive stuff and saves saves saves.. She has a great social life but has her focused on owning her own home.. An only child, I though her about budgeting from the age of 16 and bought her own things with her own saved pocket money.. Today she has saved a 6 figure income for her deposit in two years time. It sounds as if your parents have given you the gift of life by teaching you that anyone can achieve what they desire with hard work. Its great to hear your journey and how you take life and run with it. Love your attitude keep up the great work to enjoying life.
I'm still in secondary school but I'm figuring out all my future options, I've been seriously considering a law degree and this video has really helped me out ! I know I'm late but thank you x
Omg you went to BCU?! Yay lol I’m about to go into my third year studying media and communications I would personally like to go into PR or marketing and advertising once I leave so hopefully I’ll get there 🙏🏾 love your vids 💗
Blessings to you in your journey. It's a huge difference with law school in the U.S. Very interesting. Seems very hard there. But i guess it weeds out those not passionate about the career. Takes a lot of patience to keep applying once a year until you receive a yes
What a cliff hanger. Jade why?! LOOOL. Thank you for this video. Girl I have a masters and seem to be using my masters more than my undergrad. Those who want to change careers and do not have the time to do another undergrad I really suggest doing a masters in the field you want to enter into.I know this may not be always possible but defo give it ago.
I didn't, I studied event management at uni following my friends to do such a pointless degree but ended up having a career in Learning and Organisational Development and I love it! Now studying to get my L&D qualification
Not that you’ll probably read this but what would you advise to a young person who’s about to leave for college and it’s time to chose and they don’t really know what they want to do and don’t want to leave their friends
Amazing video!!! You are so inspirational and beautiful. In regard to you being an introvert I am still an introvert :( do you have any tips on how I can improve that and not be as shy? xxx
I paused the video to write this comment. When I heard the word 'Qatar' my heart skipped a beat lol, I really love that country and I hope to be able to travel there one day in the future.
