I still wish TAS would go to more tournaments...he's just so good. Frame perfect in everything, NEVER misses, players can learn a thing or two from him.
Apr 8, 2012. My how far TAS has come, most if not all of these runs have been bested with time and practice. Ever evolving, this is the reason I watch TAS videos, from Any% to full 100% It's always a joy to watch for me.
Mr5how5topper I think that appeal of constant improvement and evolution is in speedruns in general. TAS just makes that the sole focus by removing execution as a factor.
The fact this video is from 2012 and is in 360p but still radiates such power is awe-inspiring. Also the fact it credits all the TAS makers is a nice cherry on top.
Tas runners and actuall speed runners are kinda like computer musicians and none computer ones, one is awesome at skill but good at composing, the other completely relies on it(basically the same case with speedruns)
There's something so satisfying watching a series of uninterrupted perfect inputs. It's like a game-wide Rube-Goldberg machine, with kickass motions instead of things falling over.
Imagine if there was an actual bike racer like in that Excitebike one, if there was a man who could jump his bike so high, he comes back onto the track through the ground. He'd be the very physical being of God.
+Beamo1080 TAS' change CONSTANTLY. Routes change, techniques change, this route has been changed so many times even in normal runs it's insane. So of course it's outdated.
So glad you included Tetrisphere, one of my favorite games of all time. And the TAS videos for it are truly incredible, some of the most impressive for any game ever
Personally, I usually find RTA much more entertaining to just sit down and watch, but TASes are great too, 'cause it's often fun to see s game being broken in various ways, many of which a human could practically never achieve playing a game in real time.
I know I'm very late, but what is the song in the opening I know it's a remix of the opening to Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. but I want to find a full version.
I remeber the Mario Bros first TAS,The Mask is the first TAS's videos that I see and this is the most inspiration all the years for me to enter in this world, these members are nice.
What is the game at 4:00ish? Right after Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Edit: A google search later for "GBA grappling hook" gave me "Ninja Five-O"
TASers and Speed runners are similar but there is one difference. speed running, is how fast a *person* can beat a game. but thus, this isn't mortal craftmenship. *this is how fast said game, can be beaten* people say TASing, is cheating, to them I say, Nay! TASing takes as much skill, as speed running would, maybe even more.
I see many comments complimenting these tases... But nobody here noticed how many of these tricks are possible and actively employed in modern speed runs of those games...
alright, the parts with the godlike timing are cool, I get those, but how do the gamebreaking bugs apply? They just seem a bit dull compared to the rest...
¡Que buen video de introducción! Mejor música no pudieron haber escogido: Castlevania, hasta un fragmento de Iron Maiden, JEJE. El sitio TASVideos está chidísimo. What a good intro video! Best music could not have chosen: Castlevania, even Iron Maiden fragment, HEHE. TASVideos site are cool.
This video is a decade old. This is a piece of history right here.
I still wish TAS would go to more tournaments...he's just so good. Frame perfect in everything, NEVER misses, players can learn a thing or two from him.
raddaradda01 I hope you're joking and realize that TAS isn't a person and stands for "Tool-Assisted Speedrun"
it was clearly a joke mate. I know what it stands for. I was hoping for people to play along with it.
aw shit my bad düd
Yeah, I just love TASBot during AGDQ. Guy's a little bit of a prick though. Oh well, we can't be perfect in ALL aspects...
Hes the hero we need... Not the one we deserve.

This video is actually older than 2012. It was uploaded to YT when TASVideosChannel was created in 2012.
Mr5how5topper I think that appeal of constant improvement and evolution is in speedruns in general. TAS just makes that the sole focus by removing execution as a factor.
Mr5how5topper who are yu
Mr5how5topper I just watch them for the what-the-hell moments
You’re a true Sonic player once the camera can’t follow you anywmore
Now sonic’s rollin at the speed of sound ;3
I died because I was going too fast for the camera to follow
I guess everyone is good at Sonic thanks to Chemical Plant Zone.
IMLR. Well I am a true fan then
You're too slow, camera
The fact this video is from 2012 and is in 360p but still radiates such power is awe-inspiring.
Also the fact it credits all the TAS makers is a nice cherry on top.
The monologue to this is fuckin ART
Agreed!
truely, TASers are savants of a godly craft
TheRealSpellstar do you mean servants
Like my mom ._.
def more of a craft than skill like nontas runners
Tas kirby plant robot
Tas runners and actuall speed runners are kinda like computer musicians and none computer ones, one is awesome at skill but good at composing, the other completely relies on it(basically the same case with speedruns)
There's no such thing as "Impossible!"
Stupid The Hedgehog
and I wil time travel by backstepping fast enough
Stupid The Hedgehog and i shall destory the universe tomorrow
Try doing nothing, that's impossible
Your name explains everything
What about doing nothing
why am i getting recommended this in 2017
Lmao same but I actually watched TASes
But I haven't seen any recently so...
Yeah, I had this sitting in my recommended's for a while.
Same here
Chris Nazar K now I'm kinda weirded out
Chris Nazar same

The evolution of man is judged not by physical superiority, but by his ability to complete video games as fast as possible.
and his ability to insert button inputs into an emulator for every frame of that game playing to perfect the rushed playing of said game
whenever someone ask me what a tas is i show them this.
beebnegron Well quite franlky, that's an arrogant thing to do considering I still don't know what it is.
T.A.S. T.ool A.ssisted. S.uperplays

+Zephir il ventilatore chiassoso Oh! Thanks. I was just referring to what it said at 7:21. but your right! That sounds much better.
Wil Helm ;)

Th3SmartAlec I've done that in nes classic once, it's hard
+ky Same, and the thing where you jump over a barrel that's going down a ladder and get loads of points!
>Sonic Advanced 2 plays
now this is how Sonic games should be like
Omg it's Cirno!!! Hi!!!
3:20 Lol. Using bomb jumps to skip the block puzzle in Dodongo's Cavern. This is such an outdated video and it's only four years old.
+Beamo1080 TAS' change CONSTANTLY. Routes change, techniques change, this route has been changed so many times even in normal runs it's insane. So of course it's outdated.
+Matt Zelda yeah I was pointing out how much the route has changed
Ah, my bad mate. Ignore me then.
That just shows how much TASes are worked on and improved, not a fault of the video
You know what's crazy? The fastest time in Sonic Advance 2 isn't even TAS
ya it is, we just used IGT for all sonic games for the longest time, while TAS used real time for SAdv2
ComboBlaze shut it
fite me
ComboBlaze bite me irl
(angry reaction)
4:27 he was going into maximum Sanik, camera couldn't even follow him
Am I the only one who thinks that 2:47 it's on purpouse and that the ship's movement is in sync with the song? Or is it just coindidence?
+Zoso9391 Pretty sure it's on purpose. Never played the game, but I assume it's usually easier to dodge.
+Zoso9391 He was actually spelling something out, but it's hard to make it out. the first two letters are GO

Wait no, it's actually GDLK.
Hard to tell
+Tech “Nika” Core ADELIKAT
+Jvizzlezz Nice
S.S.H is fucking amazing.
^-- This.
They said Sonic games were slow.
Until you play them the right way
4:50
where tf are the multishines
You don't need Tas to multishine, SDI is more impressive but that not really explicit except to those who play the game or know how SDI is done
RadioWw what about wavedashing, l-canceling, dash-dancing, the freeze glitch, wobbling and all that Melee bullshit
So glad you included Tetrisphere, one of my favorite games of all time. And the TAS videos for it are truly incredible, some of the most impressive for any game ever
Tool assisted speed runs are some of the most entertaining things to watch when it comes to runs of games like Mario and Sonic, 10/10.
Video games are so great and nostalgic. Nothing can replace them.
The Castlevania Remix is called "Travel Demon" and it's by S.S.H.
Bae: Come over
Me: I can't, I'm doing a speedrun
Bae: My parents aren't home
Me: *TAS MODE ENGAGED*
human players is not enough you need TAS
Everything you see in a TAS is technically doable so it isn't cheating, think of it more as pushing a game to it's limits.
Its not all doable. Some inputs can’t be done by humans
What if the humans find an way to click inputs with very fast fingers@@rogerklotz7737
whats the game that starts @7:07 ?
Sir Sic The Social Inequality Crusader castlevania rondo of blood I think
Beethoven, Castlevania, Iron Maiden... nice themes!
the beginning sounds like the speech a villian says in the middle of the movie
This is truely impressive, mastering a game so much that you manipulate it to do "impossible" things
Personally, I usually find RTA much more entertaining to just sit down and watch, but TASes are great too, 'cause it's often fun to see s game being broken in various ways, many of which a human could practically never achieve playing a game in real time.
Me favorite TASvideosChannel
4:42 This is real Sonic.
This IS Sonic, because of the fact that Sonic is faster than a light.
When hes super saiya- I mean suprr Sonic.
Antivirus 1 especially because that part can be performed without TAS
sonic is only faster than sound altough hyper sonic might be at least on par with light
@@names3904 no, currently Sonic goes in lightspeed.
I know I'm very late, but what is the song in the opening
I know it's a remix of the opening to Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. but I want to find a full version.
Same tbh. I think its a harpsichord cover or something but no idea
This is one of my favorite videos in existence.
This TASes are super PERFECT
6:30 Mario just casually freaks out as he walks toward a ladder, then climbs around the universe to come around to the other side, the top of the map.
Exactly why I like TAS videos, the power!
This is the most epic trailer of TASVideos.
Can anyone tell me what the game at 7:07 is? It's clearly not Megaman like the video say.
Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, most likely.
Oh, thanks.
Everybody gangsta till mario starts jumping backwards
Then you realize that machines COULD actually take our place LOL
NANCOK Machines? TASes are 100% made by humans.
The only thing that makes humans still worth somethig is our selfawareness, otherwise.....
NANCOK I like to think that this video is the proof that machines will NEVER be as awesome as us.
That's a nice way of look at it
Couldnt someone program a machine to do tas?
I always had the opinion that TAS is the cannon hability of those characters, that's why they are all so fucking feared by their enemies.
It's when they achieve their true potential when they really need to
I remeber the Mario Bros first TAS,The Mask is the first TAS's videos that I see and this is the most inspiration all the years for me to enter in this world, these members are nice.
Usually when you use TAS, its to see how fast shit gets done. But with sonic, its to see how fast you go to get shit done.
There is no better speedrun than a TAS-speedrun
The Mask TAS looks so good
Whoah. What's that Castlemania cover called? Where can I get it?
2:48
Do a barrel roll!
Press SELECT or B twice.
Tears of beauty are shed.
What is the game at 4:00ish? Right after Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Edit: A google search later for "GBA grappling hook" gave me "Ninja Five-O"
Let’s get this to 690 comments and let it stay that way.
Coming in 2018:
RTAVideos- When TASes get boring and you want to see somebody fail!
Absolutely beautiful work!
TASers and Speed runners are similar

*this is how fast said game, can be beaten*
people say TASing, is cheating, to them I say, Nay! TASing takes as much skill, as speed running would, maybe even more.
start gave me chills tbh
This video screams old RUclips, love it
Please need to know the name of the song of 6:48 I'm sure that i'm already heard it but cant remember where
Some Castlevania - Wicked Child cover
All TASers are GameGods at another level.
We are actually constantly failing at the most basic parts of a game.
Xalaber 23
I do Tas but my recording quality
is worse than what you find in a public toilet
Awesome! And oh my god, these musics, I mean, these masterpieces :3
Using the song called Mars at 0:51 Props to you :)
Everything sound better with Castlevania music at the background.
I see many comments complimenting these tases... But nobody here noticed how many of these tricks are possible and actively employed in modern speed runs of those games...
I love the fact that theres only old comments
I like how Sonic is going so fast that he is leaving the screen behind.
Imagine turrets or Real life robots/terminators with TAS installed
Robot:N0W I WILL DO THE WORM HOLE GLITCH TO TELEPORT TO KIM JUNG UN TO KILL HIM AND WIN THE GAME OF LIGE
UHD version when?
"Man" was too lazy
This should be your RUclips channel intro
Awesome castlevanias remixes
Never thought I'd ever see this response in this RUclips layout...
and this is to go ABOVE AND BEYOND
this is great, only problem is he didnt use any clips of menus which I usually find interesting if only cause the speed of options
What's the name of the game in 3:24 again? I think I played it before when I was a kid
The song from the most part of the movie is from Castlevania game.
alright, the parts with the godlike timing are cool, I get those, but how do the gamebreaking bugs apply? They just seem a bit dull compared to the rest...
I know, right? After 3 years it feels weird to go back.
The start is just the gaming bible
could someone link me to the music used in this video. Amazing stuff
S Dude that's performed by non other than Beetoven aka the most famous historical musician. The song is called moonlight sonata.
¡Que buen video de introducción! Mejor música no pudieron haber escogido: Castlevania, hasta un fragmento de Iron Maiden, JEJE. El sitio TASVideos está chidísimo.
What a good intro video! Best music could not have chosen: Castlevania, even Iron Maiden fragment, HEHE. TASVideos site are cool.
The soundtrack is nice
What's the song at 0:01??
@Lisek Tod Yeah but this isn't the original?
@Lisek Tod I know what song it is. I want to know who made this specific guitar cover that plays in this video, i've been looking for it for years

Yes! *More* montages!
6:18 really diggin that genesis remix of "The Trooper" love me some Iron Maiden
*_This Is History_*
God I love River City Ransom. I miss that one so much!
this should be the channel trailer
Anyone know what games is 2:49
The song is called Dracula's Castle. And yeah, it's a CV song.
Nice montage!
Maybe there should be a new one of these with a higher production budget and newer TAS's
does anyone know the intro song? like the cover of moonlit sonata
Great pace!
at 4:51 what game is this
Sonic Advance
Yo what's that game at 3:25 again?????
I love these videos
3:25 Name of the game?
SNES Biker Mice From Mars . I never played this, but recognized Vinnie and his bike.
