He landed more triples than Nicole Bobek did at the Nagano Olympics

Geez, the standard of these Adult Nationals. I'm not familiar with what Junior-Senior Men means. But in the UK, adult skaters are usually people who took skating up as adults and might have a single axel!

This means he passed the Jr. or Sr. level freestyle and moves tests (typically as a teenager, there might be a small number who pass as adults and they have more lenient passing score requirements), so yes he is an "adult skater" but he was a highly accomplished youth skater who has just aged out of the elite track so to speak. Most of the adults who started in their twenties are in the bronze-silver-gold track like Dave, and not the "masters" track. The difference is pretty obvious, but the levels keep it pretty fair imo.

@@kristenjunker1632 I'm so glad it's separate like that, otherwise I'm sure it'd keep a lot from competing. I really admire those that learn as adults, it can't be easy.

I think if he had of picked a more up tempo piece of music it would have given him more speed into his jumps.

Sorry but that's not how it works. I take it you're not a skater, but your skating speed isn't dependent on the tempo, normally no matter what you skate at the same speed even in practice with no music.
