i think we all know the ethnic type of the iphone guy... i often get people asking to look at there car , which is fine if it just means lifting it and a quick check of the ball joint / track rod ends, but some people want me to load tools into my car and drive to them and find the fault at there chosen location, for free LOL

Is it weird that I found watching cars stopping and pulling off and seeing the driver being pushed back in their seat more fascinating?

People who try to negotiate prices are just knobheads, frankly. You just don't do that with a business with fixed terms and prices. It's not a car boot sale or flee market. Imagine someone going into McDonald's and trying to knock down the price of a Big Mac to a quid--not happening.
The whole parts situation for most things is just--messy sometimes, and a matter of knowing the right person or where to look. I'm just your average tinkerer who does self-repair with tools I have, and go to repair shops when I don't have the proper gear. I had to go to Aliexpress for a specific laptop part--repair for a fam member.

Used to work at Best Buy. My first store was pretty good with not actually charging for stuff that could be taken care of without actually taking up bench time. Our store was in an area where the average age was 60+ and senior care transit actually stopped at our store multiple times a day. I had one client who was 70 and she stayed in my booth from open 10am to 9pm closing and was trying to get me to do her taxes, she would buy devices while I was with other clients and then have me set them up for her and then she'd return them, she call 1-800 numbers for software companies and try to get me to talk to them, she'd ask me to set her up a crypto-wallet, and if I was with a client she'd pull their chair away from me because she wanted my attention. I asked multiple managers to ban her, her husband said we could ban her and she threatened all my other co-workers who tried to help her.
