    The shop shown in Forge Street was owned by my Great Grandparents and it was a chip shop.

    Wow I remember some of those places. Funny thing is that I personally don't think Crewe has improved with time, I know everything moves on but they were good old days and Crewe was a safe happy town. Thank you for the memories.

      I just moved here 6 years ago and for me it was shocking to learn how many things have disappeared. Like the race track. The old works. No carnival any more. All I see is new builds really. As far as I can see it was a proud railway town and now it is just a place where people live. Still love it but I can imagine how good it must have been 20-30-40 years ago.

    Great video. Nice to see a shot of The Ritz. I remember seeing The Exorcist and That'll Be The Day there. Really frightened me. Must of been the sight of Ringo Starr in drainpipe trousers! Only joking; It was The Exorcist that frightened me. I remember people handing out leaflets outside saying not to play with Ouija Boards.....as if I needed telling after seeing that film! Haha.
