i watched peter pan goes wrong and it's so weird seeing jonathon not forgetting things haha
Interestingly, In TPTGW he also doesn't forget his lines often. Ocassionally he glances at his cuff to remember a difficult word (which he inevitably misapronounces), but I didn't notice him being particularly forgetful.
Another major difference is that in Peter Pan Max fancies Sandra, but in The Play he's very unwilling to kiss her and it's strongly implied that he is gay.
This may be because of the rotating casts. I saw it with none of the original cast and the company do encourage improvisation where possible (sometimes it's just not safe to improvise), so that particular cast may have decided to change the story slightly.
@@lambertbrother1628 Update: I think that Max being gay is actually to do with the cast. I saw it again 2 years later and the gay undertones were completely missing. I know that with each new cast (they're replaced roughly once/year), they are encouraged to improvise a bit, make the script their own and the first cast I saw apparently decided to make Max gay.

They said in an interview for them the bad way things go wrong is when things don't break and they're left with a gap were a gag should be

I mean say what you want about the play, but these three are the true Bear/Twink/Geek solidarity that the Broadway community really needs in these dark times

Dear lord, what I wouldn't give to see the raspberry performance of the show! How utterly ridiculous when something goes wrong that shouldn't in a play where everything else must. xD I bet the audience was none the wiser...^^
I saw the London performance with my mum and dad. My Dad asked what would happen if something actually went wrong, and I said that because literally everything that can go wrong, does go wrong, something going wrong would actually mean something going right, e.g.

Early on in the show, the director introduces himself and the show, but when he does, he stands slightly behind where the spotlight is shining so the audience can't see his face. He the steps forward to where he should be. If something were to go wrong, he might end up accidentally standing in the right place.
Evidently i was incorrect, and The Play That Goes Wrong can indeed actually go wrong.
Anyone considering seeing the play should not base their decision on the above joke alone, I deliberately selected one of the least funny jokes in order to not spoil it for anyone else.
@@lambertbrother1628 Watching all the "Goes Wrong Watch Alongs" has taught me that there seems to be something that does go wrong in nearly every episode.

You know, for a long while, I thought Jonathan was saying he was in a drama school production of "Madea" (the Tyler Perry character), until he mentioned he played the dead kid at the end. It took me a while, but I eventually figured out he was saying "Medea" (the Greek tragedy).

If that raspberry part wasn't divine intervention, I don't know what is. If I were some great power controlling the world and I saw a production called The Play That Goes Wrong and some fool brought on a tub of real raspberries, of course I could make them go everywhere.

From the accent he does, I'd say that it sounds like he was playing an American character in that scene.

I'm not sure what their actual real names are any more. Are they Henry, Henry and Jonathan or Robert, Chris and Dennis and why is the 4th actor (Dave Hearne?) not there.
They’re all actors and writers for the shows while Dave (like Charlie and Bryony) are actors but don’t write for it 😃
Henry, Henry and Jonathan own Mischief Theatre and write the shows, everyone else is an actor hired by them but the other six from The Goes Wrong Show (Charlie, Nancy, Bryoni, Dave, Chris and Greg) are Mischief veterans and appear in most of their productions.
Who the hell are Henries and Jonathan?! I know Robert, Chris and Dennis only.

They tried too hard, it was awkward and nobody laughed.
dimitreze To be fair, their show it set up for a British audience. So an American audience who knows nothing about this play would think that was genuine and missed the point. They didnt know the show so of course the gag was missed.
The first story went on too long :/ wish he cut to the chase
The key to comedy is timing. in certain circumstances, it makes sense to drag out the story for as long as possible before getting to the punchline. Possibly the most extreme example of this is 'The Purple Joke', which is a story which drags out for upwards of 15 minutes before reaching a punchline that will make you laugh out loud or want to kill the person telling you the joke.

Why not just stop for a moment and reset? Why this slavish devotion to "the show must go on?"
This contradiction is the only thing that bugs me about the Goea Wrong Show. In real life, you stop and fix the problem. In theater, you end up covered in raspberries.
I hope the worst they ever bombed was on the tonight show.... because if their act is normally any better, the up for a world of misery...

Blimey! That long tedious story by the first guy is embarrassingly unfunny as is witnessed by the blank expressions of the other two.
