I was there over Christmas 1961-1962. I remember 1 line that went from Piraeus to Kifissia that I rode. Rickety wooden subway cars I remember. Now it's beautiful.

I guess being overground contributes to being an easy target for graffiti, unfortunately... It's the same here in Barcelona, underground metro trains are ok while overground commuter rail is ridden with graffiti.
