Masvidal had one good year surrounded by a moat of mediocrity. His fights were fine, but not something that would bring in tons of ppv fans. The idea that he’s a big draw is just silly. The Diaz-Masvidal boxing match is evidence of that ship having sailed.

UFC is struggling to fill events. I think slap fighting and the ESPN deal are hurting it. Don't know if it's me or what but we're in a gully here. Gimmick fighting, old fighters not fighting. I don't know.
It's not a stretch to say Masvidal had the shortest peak of any fighter in MMA history. Aside from the trash talk and all the hype, the Askren KO is really the only significant thing he's ever done. He's had some other good wins here and there, I'm not trying to entirely discredit his career. But imagine his career without that KO. I really can't think of a single fighter in any organization that has so much of his legacy resting on just a few seconds.
He pieced up Nate Diaz when they were at their prime. He also took on prime Usman, yeah he lost again Usman twice but it was for the belt and both PPV's were hype. I would say the Jorge's loss against Colby is what really hurt is aura. His fight against Burns wasn't bad and he even rolled with him.
