One day I went to salvation army to drop off some stuff and there was a box of albums with the Doors, Rolling Stones, Beatles and Elton John's oldest albums. I couldn't believe it cause the whole box said for $5!!! The lady said they just got dropped off a few minutes ago and she just priced the box cause it was hard to sell albums by each one. "Sold!!!" is what I said... 😊.
@@wynnssecret8584 ... yes it was a score!!! Have to be there at the right time for some good stuff. Same thing here for Goodwill's. Best time to go is between 10am and 2pm. That's when the volunteers come in and take care of donations. 😉
Wow. Score for sure. I've had some luck lately at expanding my collection. At one yard sale the guys mother was selling her records. 1 dollar each. I left with a few Doors albums, Joe Cocker, Dark Side of the Moon, Beatles bootleg, and some more 60s and 70s. I've found some decent records at goodwill. Today I found what looked like a small DJ collection. I bought 10 of the records that were in the best shape. All 90s/2000s dance and electronic music. Right near my house there was a sale and the lady was selling some of her records. She worked at UMG in the past so she had promotional copies of albums. Found a variety of genres at 1 dollar each. I also got 3 bins of promo cds free.
@@tre58458, I gave those albums to my cousin about a year later. Knew he would play those albums forever and he still does. I was a hairband lover back then and still am today at 60 yrs. of age. Also, I saw on a program that record players are coming back too.
Wow! Yall amaze me! I thought I was unusual, since i still have my vinyl LP's and 45s from my teenage years! (I'm now 64. Lol.) Love knowing that more people still have theirs, too!
Hi Taco Stacks . I have seen people use the jackets to albums as art they frame them . They use them in junk journals. And some put the vinyl up on walls to . Maybe post on Facebook market place . You never know . Stay safe and well. Enjoy your day. PEACE ☮️.✌️✌️✌️✌️💕💕💕💕🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮💕💕💕💕💯💯💯💯💯💯
OMG Taco Stacks it's so true everything is just a click away. Everyday is awesome when you find golden treasures on trash picking day. Hugs and kisses for Queen Salsa and Queen Gracie. THUMBS-UP ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!
People make money off of recording lost vinyl records into their computer to release the tracks to the public. Even if the record itself isn't worth much, the audio from them can be digitized and saved. I suggest that albums with no results on the internet should be sold to collectors for this purpose.
Might have worked in the beginning, but because he propped it up to dry, the cover separated toward the bottom and would be way too costly to repair. Someone might still enjoy looking at or using it for crafts.
Hey yah Mr. Stacks, I had the same thing happen to me years ago , my cable line was snipped by a passing dump truck, the line was a little to low, boom.. had no Cable TV/Phone/Internet for the weekend. Suuuucks.
Can't wait till you start loading your van more efficiently. I thought I was watching an I Love Lucy episode when you were trying to get the tent frame over and past the box of LPs.
I used to work at my town's recycling center. You cannot believe how many records people threw out. In the 20 years I did that I found hundred of lps and 45s many of which were quite rare,
I'd be glad to find that box of free records. I'd pull out all the protective inner sleeves for my own collection and give the rest to charity. Inner sleeves are too expensive for me to buy new!
Put some screen in the bottom and utilize it as a planter for a couple or 3 seasons. Records cool! The old wooden playpens arent safe for kiddos but they work well for a puppy corral. (Something to consider.
In the early 2000's I found 5 full boxes of records in an empty parking lot.. Too bad it had rained during the previous night. I managed to save half of them. Most were late 60's to 70's rock albums, BINGO. My kind of music. Now remembering all those sad stories of divorced couples where the ex wife's threw out all the records and hi end systems to the trash. Take care.
Its amazing what you can find in the trash that wheelbarrow will make a good planter and I support trash picking it not only reduces what's going to the landfill it might end up at a scrap yard or garage sale or flea market it makes you some money saves good useful things and cuts down landfill use it also reduces the garbage bill too.
Your savings grace may be that they do crafts with vinyl now. A lot of people don’t want to use good records for crafting so they look for the off stuff like that. You might want to try and market to crafters and see how you do. 😊
If you have a German area near you or a German store you might be able to find someone to buy those records. I remember when my son was young he was given a box of unopened packages of England soccer league trading cards. We have an English store down the street and they bought the whole box from him. He was so happy.
That south seas one might be something. The right exotica albums are worth decent money. ...you need to go through each one. But even then ...condition is everything.
Thats fine the book you can still sale it $2---$5. Cafters can still use the pages. I'm a paper crafter I have those books and use the pages . Any condition
13:04 Fred Heiders sings Heino's greatest hits! I have two CDs of original Heino! Can't imagine this record can top Heino's amazing voice! Surprised you happened to pull that one out and it caught my eye!!!
Back in the late 80s I found records at the end of driveways on garbage days all the time. Still have them. If you take the time to do some research you can find valuable oddball discs in collections like these.
Hey Mr Stacks! By crafting w the album's I believe folks mean, that acrylic paints are poured onto an album in a definitive manner. This creates a fine burst of color on a previously blank surface. I'll get a link to celebrate your find!
Maybe if the recycling place can invent a way to keep the bins closed and locked and when you use them you punch in a code or it takes your picture to open it. Well suggestions right?. Vynals sells it takes that special person right time right place sorta thing lol. Well another interesting day. Hug Salsa and onward to the next scrap or trash pick up. Take care....🐕 👍
The old records may have music that you might enjoy listening to, I have almost a thousand old songs on my iPod along with a few audio books that I listen to while getting my cancer infusions. The music is really relaxing and a lot less irritating than some of the stuff they show on TV. You can put the music in the genre. I have a collection of Croatian and Celtic instrumental music, polka music has a quite a few followers. In your area there should be Amish or Mennonites that may be interested in the German music.
I'm in Vancouver Washington. We have waste management. They have a big building with conveyors and people sorting picking thing to recycle. I thought all there facilities were like that. So maybe that is something to make happen in your town, state, note to all out there. Not just Taco. Make it a good one. I think nothing can be made if not recyclable
Hey, Taco, I had a dog that looked just like yours. I am sure she would love to ride along with you, she would not get depressed if you did that. {it's your work truck}
Those albums look like no-hopers, but always check to be sure. If they're essentially landfill, vinyl records can be heated and turned into planters. The old Christmas albums make good decoration. Polka makes good recycling.
I’m disappointed you didn’t fully pull out and show off that one record at 12:25. Anyone familiar with Deutsche Grammophon’s distinctive yellow company logo could tell you that that record had classical music on it if they saw it from a mile away.
@David Goodfellow I think that’s partly because of the niche nature of our genre and partially because we tend to prefer the clean crisp sound of digital audio over the snaps, crackles & pops of vinyl. We also never experienced a loudness war that degraded the sound of our music on compact disc, ergo we never developed any illusions that the old vinyl format “sounds better” than our precious CDs. That said, I’m a bit of a hoarder when it comes to CDs and vinyl and will gladly take anything that someone is going to throw out.
that were usual german „schlager“ records = popular music in german speaking countries like germany, austria. but honestly that has been collected by parents/grandparents generation. currently the box would be about maximum 20€ worth
To a search on RUclips for “crafting with vinyl records “ and you will find lots of people who use the records for their craft projects. Post on Facebook Marketplace .. you might have some buyers if not they’ll take them off your hand.
You should trade the records at a record store for store credit or money if you don't want to buy anything because you got the records for free and would not lose any profit if you go to the nearest record store near you and maybe you can take public transportation to save money on gas
The records are german country songs from the sixties and seventies - unsalables in Germany....Bad records but as always a great video from Taco Stacks and and good news from the US.....;-)
