Music of Sara Tavares is so simple, natural, pure, poetic, exotic, spiritual, smooth... Simply beautiful! I hardly understand a word of her lyrics but I sense joy, passion, love, pain, sensitivity... I absolutely love her work. She's so unique, honest, creative and talented!
No one is stealing anything because crossworlds are a constant in human culture..Both Brazilians and Africans share Portuguese and African roots so the coincidences are just obvious..on the other side..we are all one blood and one soul and if Brazilians were inspired by Cape Verdianos or the other way around.. so what's the big deal? I mean guys all the freedom figthers from Africa : Lumumba, Sengor, Cabral would cry if they ciuld read that..They gave their lives for freedom.Rememeber Bob Marley

Verdade porem eu q sou Brasileiro tenho uma certa facilidade tbm em entender o idioma, que por sinal é maravilhoso, há tbm Mayra Andrade, quem tbm canta em criolo , portugues, ingles e frances.
peace.i don t care which one is more old or not every one should take the best for every one else and make it his own and for sure the world will be better.learning from each other.knowledge must be free and for every one who likes to learn anything.the song is very beautiful.
Regardless of the origin of this music, it's some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard. I've got to add this to my collection in audio cd, I can't dishonor this music by downloading an mp3. Just saying.
Cesaria Evora, Mayra Andrade and Sara Tavares... Ramas del mismo arbol, caricias, abrazos y besos del mismo cuerpo. Cape Verde is small in size, huge in culture and beauty!
Sorry bro if i make some mistake..I love Kisomba but also love Funana...I'm Brazilian lived 10 years in Portugal now at USA..when was in Portugal I used to go to Bleza bar..they play just African rhythms..
@Ronhonhofe You need know the wonderful diversity of Brazilian Music....This is nothing comparing to what has been made in this country in terms of music. I love capeverdian music, but our musical diversity is much more beautiful and rich. We are influenced and also we influence others. The word "steal" is not appreciated. Brazil and cape Verde are brothers. We speak the same language.
@Ronhonhofe You're right... sure it is strong this influence. I think the guy up there started this mess saying Cape Verdians steal music from Brazil, which is absolutely ridiculous.
Hello Annie!I translated the song from cape verdean's criolo to english for you, I'm sorry for any mistakes, english is not my mother tongue. Have a nice day! In my song’s soul There is hope, there is blessing Gift from Nature It has magic, it has beauty Melancholy And joy too Because everything will be alright At the right time SONG OF THE SOUL DONE WITH CALM In the waves of my sea There is serenity in the moonlight Gift from Nature It craddles me since I was a child It whispers softly It lights my way And it speaks to everyone Who listen to the voice of the wind SONG OF THE SOUL DONE WITH CALM It craddles me since I was a child Oh, child, oh
@MrFrankygoestoboston No, Brazilians steal music from Cape Verde. Cape Verdian music is mutch older than brazilian music, and this type of song is traditional from cape verde. i´m cape verdian and i know what i´m saying.
Please, dont say that Brazilians have been stolen your music, it is wrong.. Brazilian Music have influence of African music, Africans brought this music to Brazil.. and with this fluence Brazilian made a lot of differents style like Maguebeat of Chico Science. Listen it and enjoyed as we are enjoying this music..
@Ronhonhofe OK, but Brazilian music is much more diverse than this. So, I don't think we 'steal" music from you. Brazil was inhabited majorly by slaves, besides Portuguese and other european nationalities, and slaves came from everywhere in Africa. So influences are clear. But no one steals music from anyone.

It's hard to dislike her songs. They only disliked the video because they wanted to see a video. ( I think)...
I have all of her albums including the live concert on dvd i love it.

Hello Annie!I translated the song from cape verdean's criolo to english for you, I'm sorry for any mistakes, english is not my mother tongue. Have a nice day!
In my song’s soul
There is hope, there is blessing
Gift from Nature
It has magic, it has beauty
Melancholy
And joy too
Because everything will be alright
At the right time
SONG OF THE SOUL
DONE WITH CALM
In the waves of my sea
There is serenity in the moonlight
Gift from Nature
It craddles me since I was a child
It whispers softly
It lights my way
And it speaks to everyone
Who listen to the voice of the wind
SONG OF THE SOUL
DONE WITH CALM
It craddles me since I was a child
Oh, child, oh
And the song is called "The Voice of the Wind" - Voz di Vento
