I do not know how to sew for the life of me except to sew buttons back on. I have used a machine to make squares for a quilt but that is truly all I have done. Never ever did a piece of garment for the life of me. I can crochet, but sewing No Way Jose. I love this idea. I love that pineapple print to death. I'm glad that you picked that print for this tutorial for beginners. Prints make the item interesting to make. You are the first one that I sat through to learn how to make something out of fabric and I do have some fat quarters to use. I was wanting to make some doll dresses for my barbies with them but that hasn't happened as of yet. So Thanks for this tutorial.
That would make a super duper gift bag. So cute! Anyone with basic sewing machine skills should be able to make it. Buying the precut quarters simplify it even more. Thanks!
Very clever 👍🏼 and most useful. Love ❤️ the fabric. You could close that small interior seam with hem tape or something similar if you don’t want to hand sew or run it back under the sewing machine. And a water pen or small water spritzer works wonders for getting wrinkles out of fabric, esp. if you don’t want to use an iron. I’ve often spritzed the whole fat quarter and hung it to dry. If 100% cotton, the wrinkles fall right out. I do this for my clothes, too, cuz I hate ironing! Have a blessed Easter...
I love how you make things look so easy. That turned out perfect I love the colors. I have never touched a sewing machine in my life. But I do admire people who can sew. Loved the video.
Thanks so much for being so patient in showing me how to sew this. I just got my area for my craft room so I can get my sewing machine out. I haven't really sewn since high school but I am pretty sure I can do this. Love the fabrics you chose.
You deserve a break girl! I love this tutorial. You did a fantastic job at explaining and showing how to make this. I'm definitely going to make one. Your jewelry is beautiful. Tfs and God Bless 🥰💜
I have a sewing machine and I’ll be giving this a try. I am a beginner with a sewing machine wish me luck👍🏻👍🏻 I really enjoyed this video and hope to see more DIYS like this. Hope you have a WONDERFUL EASTER 🐣
Oh my goodness, you have just solved a problem I had. I made ornaments for extended family and could not for the life of me think of how to wrap them. BINGO, Amber to the rescue! Thank you dear one, I so appreciate it and thank you so much for all you do. Love you girlie!
HI Amber~I love the pineapple basket! It turned out so cute. I am a sewer so would be no problem for me to make...reminded me of making Christmas stockings for the kids...I had to do same thing with the liner....it would be so cool to use for cookouts to put napkins or plastic eating utensils in...You always do an awesome job, I could watch you all day!! LOL ~~~ Have a Happy Easter ~ Terri
So simple and adorable, Amber! But, 💩!!! I just ordered FOUR nautical print Closet Maid cubicle baskets (to go in the two 6 box stackable Closet Maid cubbie shelves I ordered from Lowe's on Monday, as part of my efforts to get my crafting supplies out of the cardboard boxes stacked up on the floor in my guest room), and they cost me $14 apiece + tax!!! I've been sewing since I was big enough to sit on pillows on a dining chair with blocks tied with boot strings to my feet so I could operate my grandmother's tredle sewing machine - 5 or 6 years old, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth!!! These will be so much cuter, will only cost about $5 each to make, and will be MACHINE WASHABLE!!! DUH!!! Thanks, Sweet Girl, for "schooling" this ol' lady once again!👏🥰👍 Oh! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Hope you had a day as fabulous as you are!!!☮🕊✌🎁🎂🎉❤
Such a cute basket! Thank you for such cute projects. Also not sure if you know, but there’s a piece that slides off the sewing machine that makes it easier to sew the top. It’s kind of like the sleeve thing you were talking about. I have the same machine and I remove it when I hem pants. I’m not a tailor by any means lol! But just thought I’d tell you in case you didn’t know 😁 I love your channel and glad you’re back from your break
Yeah on mine, it comes off fairly easily, but I don’t know why it’s such a pain in the behind to get back on. It pops off and goes back on pretty easily on my other few machines, but not this one. Of course, it’s my luck that I would get one that does that 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
This was a great video! I have a very large paper weight that I'm told is a sewing machine! 😙 Lmbo! I think i could maybe even do this project. You explained it very well for my non-sewing brain! Could you show us how to make a bowl koozie please? My mom doesn't like to get her hands cold due to arthritis, but she sure enjoys a scope of ice cream for a bed time snack! It would make a great addition to her mother's day gift! I could also get credit from the hubby for using the "paper weight" for its true purpose! Lmbo! Your sense of humor sure can set me off and usual when I'm somewhere I shouldn't be giggling or belly laughing! Glad to hear you took time off. You need to remember to take care of yourself! We need you! You brighten our day(s)! TFS! Stay safe and healthy!
Oh I love those bowl cozies!!! I have a habit of eating while I’m sitting on the couch, so that’s why I use one. Let me get some stuff together and I’ll do one
Great gift ideas. Easter baskets, gift baskets plus they get a storage bin after. If you were to make a larger size basket say, 20 inch square. Would you still do a 3 inch cut out on the bottom? If not, how would you figure that corner area? Oh Lord! This reminds me of the old fashion roller/curler bags! Lol
Yes, you could still do the 3 inch cut out on the bottom, your basket would just be a little bit taller than this one. Or, you could do a 4 inch cut out, and it would be shaped more like this one is, just a larger size
How do you determine the size of squares to cut to form the bottom of the basket,I want to make a 5x5 one and I want to do a 8x8, how big of a square would I cut off for those sizes, your help is very much appreciated
Could you not take a couple of stitches at the top and back stitch and then go on? Then you wouldn't have to tie knots. Could you use Alene's Fabric glue to close the hole on the inside?
You can if you want to do back stitches. It is just my preference that I don’t. And I don’t ever use fabric glue on my sewing, but you can if you want.
I wish I could sew. I'm not allowed to touch my husband's sewing machine. I broke his old one trying to teach myself to sew. I also broke my mom's machine when I was 16. They were repaired. So I guess I need to talk him into making me one.

@@ThisSouthernGirlCan thank you for letting me know. I realize you're very busy. After all, you're the Easter bunny helper for your boys?
Love it. The fabric reminds me of the pot holder caddy you made a few years ago 🍍TFS
No matter what, make sure that you sew up the hole you made for turning. If you don't, little things WILL fall into it. Yes, personal experience.
that is pretty amber
wow i am the first one to see this video ... i love that basket, so cute... stay safe :)
Adorable...margy
I don’t have a sewing machine, so I wouldn’t even attempt had sewing it. It looks great.
Those are so cute. What do you suggest using them for? (Besides wrapping gifts. I saw that suggestion several times in the comments already.
I just have mine sitting on bookshelves to hold knickknacks.
glad ur back amber is there anything you can,t do or make lol
Absolutely love this tutorial!!!! Going to make it so thank you for sharing. BTW ....I have to use bare feet too for my paddle. Lmao 😂
Tried to sew with shoes on one time, and I made a complete mess of my project. I’m so happy to see I’m not the only one 😂😂😂
Thx

Is there nothing you can't do. Love all your videos.

I use the double cereal boxes. And they come out really nice.material or wall paper. Make great trash bins..
I can’t sew with shoes on either

I.also sew barefooted
