    Does Navionics work on this like the apps on the phone? Start and destination routing. That is the only thing that is important for the final decision.

      It does NOT. My understanding is it uses rasterized maps, not vector and they need to be downloaded to the device. The bigger problem is that Garmin includes golf and ski charts but not navigation charts. You will need to purchase them separately. Charts start at $129 for European regions, $149 for a single U.S. region, and $219 for the U.S. and Canada. Based on the size of the display and the way I use my watch, I don’t think I could justify the expense of buying (and then updating) charts for a sub two-inch display. This is a boating smartwatch but Garmin prefers to monetize the charts. So this is the most disappointing aspect of this product. Garmin needs to fix this!

    Great video, thank you! I see the Garmin web page and there are 3 different quatix: standard, amoled and solar. I have an Apple Watch Ultra and a Quatix 5 and I am thinking on upgrading to a Quatix 7 because the 5 doesn’t have touchscreen and some times it is complicated to use it with the buttons, compared with the Apple Ultra. There is big differences between the standard version and the amoled or solar to pay the price? Where can I find a comparison of the 3 models? Also, the Quatix 5 bands and the Quatix 7 are compatibles? Thank you!!!

      Thank you for your questions. Yes, the Garmin website has a "compare" option when shopping for your new Garmin product. Below is a link to the comparison page, comparing the three quatix 7 devices. Also, the quatix 5, quatix 7 - Standard Edition, and quatix 7 Pro are all compatible with the QuickFit 22mm watch bands. The quatix 7X - Solar Edition is a larger device and requires a QuickFit 26mm band. I hope this helps.

    Hi Bobby, could you kindly tell me if this smartwatch has the speed tachometer function, i.e. if it indicates the speed knots only on the smartwatch without being connected to the on-board chartplotter?

    • @GarminRetailTraining
      @GarminRetailTraining  9 месяцев назад

      Hello, you can view speed in knots on the Quatix 7 without being paired to a chartplotter. It does this through the GPS on the Quatix 7. Here is a help article to show you some of our Marine activity types. www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/GUID-61792F90-CAB8-4B7C-954A-1E1A080A6FB6/EN-US/GUID-7BFA42A8-E5A5-48BB-BA43-5C316E9BCF06.html

      Thank you for your question. The quatix 7 Standard Edition does not have the LED flashlight. You would have to move up to the quatix 7 Pro for this feature.

    I want to know which marine charts can be used on my quatix 7 standard. Ideally, I want to use the same charts on my echo map uhd2 chart plotter and Garmin 79 handheld.

      Thank you for your question. The quatix 7 Standard Edition supports premier coastal charts as well as freshwater maps of the U.S. featuring integrated Navionics data. This device has 16 GB of internal memory and the below link shows the available mapping for this device. I hope this helps.

      In my opinion there is not a major difference between all these devices...Fenix 7X, Qatix 7 are basically the same...maybe they do not allow a special Qatix app on Fenix 7x only to make it one more Boat oriented...but overall they are the same watch...so VO2, running and all sports are available in Qatix as well...

      Thank you for your question. Comparing the epix Pro and the quatix 7 Pro, there are minimal differences. They have the same functionality when it comes to all the daily activity, running, training, and yes - even walking features.The biggest difference is that quatix 7 Pro adds boating specific features. Below is a link to a comparison chart comparing both models. I hope this helps.
