In 1975 cars only had an average of 12 miles per gallon!

While there is little demand for most of these, these were still much better looking cars than what is built today

That narrator sounds like the great Alexander Scourby.

The Oil Embargo of late 1973 crushed sales of both full-size and mid-size cars...the profitable models. Nevertheless, the 1974 Caprice Classic was one of their best looking cars that model year.

I like the 1974 GM cars. The big bumpers actually are attractive in my opinion.

@@toronado455 Safety bumpers are a matter of taste. However, the smog control devices on those cars choked both performance and fuel economy in all the 1973/1974 models. Also, quality control was going downhill at that time as labor relations with the UAW got worse.

      That's late-1973/into early-1974 O.P.E.C. oil embargo

@toronado455 Just about all U S.-built cars 🚗 now had new mandated big V (5)-mph bumpers. Chevrolet's Vega was face-lifted for that 1974 model season as it got new sl'ntd front w/louver c'lng slots r'plcng previous series' (1971-2-3 model seasons) egg crate grille

That 1974 model season also would be last one for Chevy's lllrd-Gen. Nova. Compact car 🚗 would be re-designed next model season (1975) as it entered its IVth-Gen.
